"Rocklander" FREAKING LOVE IT!!!!! That describes MY type of wheeling PERFECTLY!! I love getting off the pavement and running roads and trails like you would find in Colorado...which I consider "Overlanding" for the most part.....but I also LOVE to jump in the technical stuff and scrub the underbelly a bit as well. "Rock Crawler" is a bit limiting for my likes, as is "Overlander".....however the term "Rocklander" simply makes me smile. It FITS!!

Love seeing you and Brad getting together. You guys have great chemistry. Would love to see trail recon and overlndx up in the Washington mountains for some snowverlanding too. It’s wild that Cali trees seem to give Washington trees a run for their money. I love watching you work on these rigs but it’s great to see you getting out more and doing trips. When are you thinking of changing the Taco gearing?
@DirtLifestyle
@DirtLifestyle 6 месяцев назад
We definitely missed Marco on this trip! As for the gearing, I'm as low as I can go with the axles in the Tacoma (5.39). But the portal boxes will drop the gearing another 22%. If that's not enough I will have to break down and get a doubler in front of this T-case 😁.

Since other makes don't qualify for Badge of Honor trail badges, you should offer a "Dirt Lifestyle-Nate Approved" adhesive badge with the trail name on it. To get one, just take a picture of you and your rig at a specific set of coordinates in the middle of the trail or in front of a specific landmark to qualify.

man I know Brad said Oriflamme canyon ain't nothin' but a stock TRD Off-road Tacoma can't make it down the rocky section once it drops into the canyon half way ish. Ask me how I know. haha. I got myself high centered on multiple approaches and couldn't quite make it through by myself. If I had a buddy they maybe could have pulled me through it, but that one spot got me hung up. After some new suspension and bigger tires I'm going to try again. Maybe one day I'll try this other canyon you tried.

I believe that v notch at cougar buttes was the top of whats called terrys butt crack, if you go further down theres actually a sign on the rocks with a solar light that illuminates at night. Last time we were there my buddy flopped in his YJ on it. We spend lots of time out there, great place, you can pick your own lines.
