Yes, thats typically for a hydraulic elevator to stop hard while moving up. We have a hydraulic elevator with a stop switch here and if you hold the "1"-button and switch the stop switch up and down fastly, the cabin jumps and you hear loud bangs. That machine is really crazy.
The reason it has a hard stop when going up is because when the elevator (or lift) goes down it is releasing the pressure (since this is a hydraulic system) and when it goes up the pump is running and when it stops its abrupt because of the sudden shutdown of the pump. as when its going down its slow because its releasing pressure and it very slightly keeps leaking through. (this is my theory and I might be wrong)
I have been really scared of them since i watched that guy who got stuck in an elevator for 41 hours. But now i have started to ride elevators again. I'm still really scared to press the call button and entering the car but after a while of riding the elevator, it's really fun.
i feel like 70% of people are watching are trying to cure their fear (I don't have one) and there is 25% of people that like to watch the science behind it and its origin. (not me either) and the other 5% got carried here through autoplay on recommended and are to lazy to stop it (that is me)
You said no inner doors at the beginning but then you realised it has inner doors. Lol! By the way, are the inner doors original or slapped-on as an addition to the elevator?
