Good ole Jake brake sometimes when At home sitting in my room I can hear em miles and miles away but it doesn’t bother me much I love loud cars/ trucks
CB7F22a my dad ran his like that not all the time but he did do it more then sometimes and it had over a million miles on it. But yea I’m with ya it’s to expensive to hit the end of the power band every gear all the time
You don't see them in the UK but yesterday after work one pulled out of a petrol station Infront of me. Dam that thing was loud. It was fucking quick too but VERY polluting. I drive a golf GTi and he kept putting his foot down and it was rapid. It would billow tons of black smoke everytime. Then he would take his foot off and the brake would kick in and make a fucking awesome noise. Best lorry I've heard in my life. I deliberately drove behind it as long as possible.
Given my experiences at both of those companies... I can believe it. There were times I wondered if I was the only person with either logo on my cab door that actually knew how to fucking drive, and when and when not to be in the hammer...
@@MprLogistics hes what the old guys call a supertrucker cause he can't quit poppingthat jake on and off getting into it winding it to tight popping the jake between gears and revving it and letting the jake kick in and out its rough on that engine and will start causing problems
@Benjamin McCann the drivers an idiot i dont care about jake brakes or anything imo they sound cool but hes revving the truck way to high and being way too rough on it hes gonna break something driving like that
This video is really cool. New York City is amazing with all of the traffic. If you really like cars and trucks, it's an interesting place to see all of the vehicles on the road. I really like trucks. I used to be tanker truck dispatcher in Massachusetts, so I can appreciate this video.
It’s a day cab. So he’s an around town clown. They like to drive with the windows down and look at themselves in the reflection of shop front windows. Using the jake at suck low revs is a great way to bend a rod.
I don't understand why people complaining about his driving, it's his truck so stop being jealous, I enjoyed the video & plan on buying a kW900 with a Cat3406E 550😁
rudewaggy I thought I used to enjoy shifting, but it's almost Religious to These Guys... just watch how they "wave" over the stick, almost like a Metronome !!! 👍
I'm Dutch Irish and I love my Jake. I didn't get into trucking because I wanted to drive a neutered emissions truck with an automatic and stare out the window all day. That man can't wait to get to his truck everyday and drive it. Can't say the same for most company guys. Just another driving job for them.
I just happen to come across this video. I drive from Oregon to Washington daily and see these trucks very frequently. Honestly don’t even know much of them.
You don't have to be a professional to do research on something you are interested in lol I'm sure the camera man knows just as much about the truck as the driver does but who knows.
If you say so, not really jumping, just a shit load of torque I seen a lot of guys jump in a way the front suspension and wheels look like they are about to hop
Up shifting with the Jacobs Brake on ALL the time will eventually cause more problems than you want. I bet if he turned off he wouldn't be able to shift at all. People like that are why you see signs up just as you get into a lot of towns.
@@thermidorlevrai65; I'm even more impressed by your comment. Your doing a great imitation of the truck. A lot of hot air and noise but no point to it.
@@thermidorlevrai65 Where did I "complain"? Do you even know what complaining is? When you go back to school ( what are you, in Jr. High now? wow, a big boy ) ask your teacher. I said I was impressed. Isn't that the point of running around New York City with straight pipes, to impress people with how loud his truck is? He can certainly do what he wants, I'm not trying to stop him. Why are you complaining about my comment? I'm not bothering anybody. If I was shouting it out over a loudspeaker, making as much noise as that truck there would be reason to complain, but I'm not. My comments do not intrude on your life at all unless you choose to read them. So if my comments bother you simply don't read them. BTW, does your mommy know what you do in the basement?
@@thermidorlevrai65 Actually it isn't his truck, unless he is the owner of Sun Star Industries, Inc in Queens New York City. But being as the mailing address for the company is an apartment on Foothill Ave he might be the owner.
It's called speed shifting. It's usually done when taking off on an incline so the rpms drop faster and you can grab the next gear quicker without losing too much speed.
Every engine manual I read clearly states shifting with jake brake could cause severe engine damage. But I guess this doesn’t apply to the super truckers sorry guys.
@@warcox well the internet says cops are bad but these so much proof that's not true the proof with that is ask a Jamaican how many time his/her engine is changed from damage lol
Also, the N14 in my rig at work may have nothing on this, but my International does just fine. 5in straight pipe, just enough wear and tear to make her look hard and what may or may not have been a train horn at some stage
