Seems like the blower's running the right way now but the chopper sounds worse than ever. Reminds me of how Roberts' Thunderbolt used to sound.

Holy crap, those bearings are toast. Not as bad as the 1003 in Lacon though.

@@grimatronicpl7163 ok. Sorry, I don’t know how to distinguish the age of Thunderbolts. But yeah eventually it will seize and blow a fuse or burn up, or the brushes will burn down to high enough resistance that it won’t even turn

I have no doubts that the bearings are shot. The extremely fast winddown gives it away.

@@Glist_ he compared it to Chillicothe’s old 1003. In Brandon’s video, the bearings kept trying to slow the chopper down, hence the frequent rapid pitch drops. By the time you recorded this, the bearings were so worn that they consistently slowed down the chopper.

@@Glist_ In fact, listening to Brandon’s video again, I think Connor is right. The pitch fluctuations don’t sound like typical bad brush/ring fluctuations. It does sound like the chopper keeps trying to get up to speed and then keeps getting slowed down by the bearings
