With the release of the Alien chapter, lots of folks have asked what's a good build for the Xenomorph. This is one of the most reliable ones I've found so far!

@@Sephiroth69 While the turrets do beep, without knowing if its tunnel or land, it can help add uncertainty and hesitation. Its part of the reason I think monitor is so strong on xeno and very underrated. a 16 meter TR can be very useful for mixing up tunnel vs land approach, especially if u can approach a gen from different angles.

Keep in mind that those emp'd turrets are invulnerable until they start firing. Better to wait half a second than losing crawler in chase

That's what I thought, I think that's dumb though, they deactivate when you come out of a tunnel and the reason they do should be to give you time to break them. But nope, that's not that case.

​@Cartoonybun I'm 99% sure that's a bug. They occasionally take several hits to destroy manually when deactivated.

The turrets are desactivated when you're out of the tunnel it's because they can't burn you right at the exit and give you some time to break them

I actually have been running a similar build of Lethal Pursuer, Eruption, Gearhead, and Nowhere to Hide. Nowhere to hide has been nice for people who catch on to your strat and can find them to secure the down and the eruption.

Nowhere to hide is my favorite perk. So many survivors hide nearby the gen. I've seen many Megs urban evasioning all over the place.

I think lethal pursuer is unnecessary. Alien can easily find survivors in the early game and apply pressure really early.

@@reuv8441 It's mostly there for aura extending on gearhead, and nowhere to hide. However like otz said in the video you have virtually no end game plan, so the earlier you can apply pressure the better and lethal's auras at the beginning help apply pressure very early.

I believe whether you're undetectable or not, Turrets let survivors know you're close no matter what.

Yeah even when you're approaching from a tunnel, the turrets start beeping rapidly even though you're undetectable in the tunnels

2:23 From what I’ve experienced and heard from others, I think the problem here is not that you need to go around the turret, but rather that the turrets have (what is hopefully just a bug) invulnerability to your attacks when they are on cooldown from you exiting your tunnels, so you either have to sit and wait for them to start firing, wasting precious time (especially if there’s a survivor nearby), or just get out of range and hope it doesn’t become a problem in the future.

Yes I have been playing Xeno for the last 2 days and this is exactly the case. Even if its not a bug I hope it will be changed, really annoying to see the turret and needing to wait before hitting it.

I don’t know if it’s just me, but playing against the xeno has been really hard so far. It could just be that he’s a new killer, and I’ll have to get used to him, but I’m having trouble so far 😅

For me it's sort of like countering a death slinger or demo in terms of dodging out of the way of typical movements..but it's still so hard considering you don't know when hes going back into runner mode. That's when I always go down

Got killed one time and bullied the xenomorph 8 times so far and I'm an average survivor. I think he is sooooo predictable and you can abuse it so bad😂

I'm addicted to the new trail of torment and I tried it on xeno. So so good to apply with pop and be able to sneak up on survivors coming out of a tunnel, performing successful ninja tail attacks before they even realize.

His tr is already small when in his crawl mode, pretty counter-intuitive since his ability already helps with stealth. Info perk/slowdown would be better

​​​@@oscar3153Right, but sometimes turrets are everywhere and completely nullify your runner mode. So removing the terror radius while not having your power active immediately, can help in chase or to confuse survivors. Also i believe that being silent walking on all four legs is not a bad thing too. I've managed to ambush them with my tail while they were healing/doing gens sometimes. At least in my current experience

I like using the cat carrier add on along with any perks that can apply undetectable. Something about playing lore accurate tickles my pickle. I even used the same mannerisms as the Alien in the movies. Slow walking through hallways while on 2 legs and looking around sharply when I hear noises! It's too much fun and I don't even care if I lose doing it!

A really good build so far for me that got me to Iridescent 1 was Pain Res for gen regression, BBQ for info on hooks, his own personal perk Ultimate Weapon for unlimited info and Monitor&Abuse for that 16 metre terror radius in crawler form which i occasionally swapped out for DMS. I usually ran the add on that shows the gen progression for extra info. It was always quite fun running this. Good video and have a good day to everyone reading this!

imo M&A isn’t really worth it with ultimate weapon but DMS is a super nasty pick with it that ive been meaning to try

The hit boxes on the turrets are a bit rough but other than that this has been a 9/10 chapter loving it so far

The turrets are so fun as a survivor main. Really enjoy fighting back, but I’ve also been dying every match 😅

Yeah, I've found myself attacking the same turret twice sometimes even three times IN THE SAME AREA just to destroy it sometimes. And by then it's burned through my crawler mode. Now I almost always go for tail breaks because so far it hasn't magically phased through the hitbox.

I've found surveillance to be really good on him! Not only is the aura after kicking really nice, but the passive extra 8 meters of hearing working on gens allows you to easily hear them on gens underground!

This. I run a very generator protective build with surveillance, deadlock, Discordance and a free slot (usually pop or eruption though) and have lots of good matches even with no add ons.

I ran whispers during the beta and when you're in the tunnels you can kind of look around and hear where the survivors are pretty easily because it's very quiet in there.

The second game shows just how balanced the flamethrower turrets are. If placed correctly, they are devastating to killers' plays.

I found that dissolution is very good on xeno! Since youll be getting hits over pallets and leaving them down, it is very effective at deturring them or making them slow vault IE give you a free hit.

Discordance alsp pairs well with STBFL. Two people on a generator means you're guaranteed to find someone who is not the obsession

Hey Otz, awesome video! Didn’t even think about aiming over obstacles and swiping down to get a hit. I ran this fun build this morning with the xenomorph and got to rank one fairly quickly: Ultimate Weapon, Iron Maiden, startstruck, and Distressing. Also the cat box and harpoon gun for addons. Started each match by opening a locker to trigger ultimate weapon, then immediately finding a tunnel. The survivor’s screams made it super easy to track them down one by one, especially in endgame.

i run discordance and pop as well but i also combo it with retribution and alien instinct on him. alien instinct especially has been super reliable for me on him because your able to get to the most vulnerable person extremely fast with his tunnels. a fun meme idea might be to use dragons grips and hide in a tunnel near the kicked gen to ambush the person when they get out

I really enjoyed using Pentimento with plaything plus pop and corrupt intervention. Corrupt helps in the early game so that you find survivors quicker thanks to the tunnels and the fact that it disappears after you down doesn't matter that much since you get the plaything/pentimento going plus pop is there to help with the regression even more. I do think information peks are pretty good on this killer as well tho especially discordance and tinkerer as shown in the video.

yeah tinkerer, bbq, MaA/ToT to complete the stealth factor, and one other of your choice could be really cool. maybe nurse's calling, lethal pursuer, pop, or nowhere to hide depending on what you feel is missing (healing/info/gens/info)

people dont like monitor but it's a 30% reduction in an already lowered TR vs. the normal 20-25% on a higher TR, so youre getting more out of it than usual. ends up being like almost half the usual TR. ToT with eruption and another info perk would be a lot of fun as well. kick gen, go undetectable, and perhaps nowhere to hide, so it's a combo of gen destroying, stealth, and info

I’ve noticed that sometimes when using your tail, half the time you don’t really lose that much speed during your cool-down. I think it has something to do with dragging and the game giving you speed for a missed attack even though you got a hit

I knew discordance and tinkerer were gonna be mainstays on xeno but man, you really brought the punch with the last two 😂 as a survivor main, this is gonna be a fun but difficult killer to play against for years to come!

The turrets give intermittent beeps which increases as the killer gets closer. This ignores undetectable, so making the survivors oblivious, or making yourself undetectable (including during tunnelling) the turrets act as a terror radius.

*A few tips about alien I've gathered in my first games* 2:21 turrets get disabled briefly when you exit tunnels and you can't destroy them while they're disabled like that. Wait until they stop sparking and go back to firing at you and you should be able to destroy them every time; For those who don't know, you can destroy turrets with your tail, so if you see a turret and don't want to lose runner mode, get behind a wall or obstacle and when your "health bar" starts going back up, press m2 and peek, if you time it well enough and your aim is on point, you can always deny them bringing them out of runner mode; Tail attack has an hitbox *kinda* similar to nemesis' tentacle strike, so if a survivor crouches behind an obstacle (especially after vaulting a pallet or window) you can't hit them. If you're chasing an experienced survivor or if you see them crouching after a vault, don't waste time with a tail attack unless you can catch them mid animation (unless you do the rock-rope thing Otz shows in the video); Tail attack as a slightly lower hit cool down (we're talking about milliseconds) but it's miss animation is very fast, so try to attack them with your tail every chance you get (you miss every shot you don't take); The tail attack's hotbox can't be dragged sideways like nemesis' and it locks your view sideways during it's starting active damaging frames. Remember it can be dragged vertically to hit survivors behind obstacles tho; It's ofter beneficial to prioritize turret destruction over a hit on a survivor (especially if you're in a dead/depleted area): the turrets take quite some time to respawn. Even better if you destroy them with your tail since the recovery is so fast.

10:23 Damn I was skeptical about the effectiveness of the tail attack but being able to "curve" over obstacles is huge. EDIT: After some testing, it seems there is no curve, the tail hitbox is just small enough to hit the tops of Survivors heads.

2:20 correct me if i am wrong but i believe the reason that you didnt hit the turret there is because for some reason it can't be dammaged the second that it reactivates. And for some devilish reason that timing is the exact same as the timing that makes you able to use your m1 again after exeting a tunnel so it happens a lot and you have to wait an extra second each time.

Rapid brutality and STBFL are actually amazing on Xeno. I have been using them together with alien instinct and ultimate weapon and I havent had anyone escape against me yet. It is very true that the tail attack is extremely useful and you will need to use it a lot, but survivors do NOT expect you to go for basic attacks as xeno and you can easily surprise them and hit multiple survivors very quickly all while having 5% haste. On paper the haste doesnt seem amazing but in practice rapid brutality has secured me so many hits it's insane. It is very strong to just go for one basic attack and then catch up and get the second hit with the tail thanks to the haste. I promise it's a lot better than it seems!

the haste is a nice setup for a good tail swipe angle, I like RB it just needs a certain mindset when using it. For example, I never respect pallets

Based on the design of the tail, you can also think of it as a knife on a chain if the easier visual comparison helps.

One of my friends helps me with my builds and they made me a full chase build because I strive for the chase consisting of Lethal pursuer Deadlock Rapid Brutality and STBFL I have had chases that lasted a SECOND with this build and I love it I get good hits with Aliens M1 and her tail all over the game and consistently come out with 3-4 kills a game

I’ve noticed when exiting a tunnel turrets are inactive for about 2 seconds. While they are inactive like that you can’t attack them but once they become active you can so be sure to wait before attack them when exiting a tunnel

The build I’ve been using is pop goes the weasel, a nurses calling, scourge hooks: gift of pain, agitation. The idea is to use scourge hooks to keep people mangled so you can see them healing through the tunnels with nurses.

The main build I have been using that seems very good for early game pressure is Lethal pursuer, Save the best for last, Corrupt intervention, and Rapid brutality. I've been using it for a little over 9 hours, and I've yet to lose the snowball effect it has at the start of every match.

I REALLY struggled with this build, to me it feels like a full-on information build, was hard to keep pressure against a team. i’ve been using discordance, brutal strength, monitor & abuse, and save the best for last and it’s been so fun. with high stacks of save you can basically double tap survivors with m1 and then tail attack sometimes

I use a very simple build with Corrupt, STBFL, Rapid Brutality and Lethal. Lethal and Corrupt to see where people start and immediately worm my way in the tunnels to find someone (usually the one who immediately goes for the turret), while Rapid and STBFL helps me being really aggressive against the non-obsession, or even the obsession sometimes when I can't hit the tail consistently.

My current load out for Xeno is Lethal Pursuer, Hex: Plaything, Alien Instinct, and Jolt/Nowhere to Hide using Ripley's Watch and Parker's Headband/Crew Headset. Plaything gives me stealth, plus another objective for survivors, while Lethal and Instinct give me information at the start as well as through out the match. Jolt I use for if I don't wanna take time to kick gens and Nowhere for if I wanna make sure I find people nearby, depends on my mood when I load in. Add-Ons are mostly for quick ambushes and getting rid of turrets so I can focus on chases.

I really love using lethal pursuer, pop, floods of rage, and deadlock. Lethal can get you a really early and fast hook on Xeno because he can get on top of the survivor’s nigh instantly

lol, I haven't gotten to play since Pinhead hit public test... And the same exact perks are still being used! I don't mind it, but it's funny to check up on the game and still hear Otz explain the same exact perks. What is most impressive is that even after all this time he explains it as if it's the first time he'd say it. I love that about him because people in my situation where if there was something new or old added, we can pick up his videos again no matter how much time has passed.

One build that I've been loving myself that I made with the couple of perks I have is: ultimate weapon, darkness revealed, lethal pursuer and scourge hook pain res (alternatively you can put another slowdown perk here)

I recommend using Monitor & Abuse, it really catches survivor off-guard, and by the time they notice where I'm coming from (despite me playing the giant Queen), they're pretty much in tail range. It's an insanely strong perk on her.

I love to use monitor and corrupt. At the start when the match begins, go into your tunnel and look for footsteps (use the addon to extend the range for that) abd just go from tunnel to tunnel after hitting survivors, try to get them off guard or go to a gen survs might be working on till the corrupt ends. Then i have bbq and pop on tbh this is a build that works the best for me 😊

I like coup on xeno. It's not game-changing like it is on Myers or clown, but it keeps up his lethality if you get knocked out of runner mode mid chase.

A build I use is for him is add ons cattle prod the ear piece that let you see footsteps farther then perks lethal ,pop pain res, last perk is personal choice merciless or deadlock very good build with good information and slow down

I was so happy to see they included a grid skin. I always thought that was a really cool design. A awesome way to have a predator weapon interaction with xeno weapon interaction(acid blood). The queen looks really good too even if its a bit pricey. She is huge. Probably looks terrifying when its chasing you on all fours. The clone one i don't really like but the other 2 are very well done.

Two perks that I've really enjoyed on Xenomorph is the pretty meta Lethal Pursuer and the very niche Monitor and Abuse. Lethal Pursuer very quickly gets you into a chase by tunneling towards everyone, preferably tunneling towards someone already about touch a gen or a group of 2 survivors so that they can't double team a gen. And Monitor and Abuse being used for the same reasons as Monitor and Dead Rabbit on Myers, having a small terror radius to give survivors as minimal time to react to your approach is always nice and since the requirement for it to be most effective is just being in runner mode and not in a chase it means you have a constant ability to catch survivors off guard as apposed to pure stealth perks with activation conditions and timers, plus the constant fluctuating heartbeat from Monitor while also swapping in and out of runner mode all game can be fairly confusing for where the Xenomorph actually is, especially on indoor maps.

I've been using a very cheeky build, trail of torment, dragon's grip, jolt, and fear monger. The trick is to hide in a tunnel near the gen right after kicking it with that add on that gives haste for 3 seconds when exiting the tunnel. even if they can start running before you hit them, they're exhausted, you have haste, and tail. Trail is just to bait people into touching the gen, but if they figure out your tactic, it then makes them scared to touch the gen because you may be waiting to ambush nearby.

i’ve been running devour, corrupt, deadlock, and noed in case things go bad and i have to fight end game. its been working pretty well most of the time they never expect devour and have a hard time cleansing it since sometimes i find devour spawns next to a vent so you can easily guard it if they find it. corrupt can be switched for something like discordance but i feel like with this killer you NEED to have a down early or things will get really bad really fast as it did with otz in the second game. so having corrupt up to get that down before a gen is even found (if you’re lucky) is really nice plus you get a stack of devour quickly too. deadlock helps a lot because well it’s deadlock and whatever gen gets deadlocked you can run to it and do whatever you gotta do. pretty fun build imo

I half less than half the killers prestiged. Have had some success running Ultimate Weapon; Darkness revealed; Tinker and Jolt. So much info at times of my convenience. And tink and jolt to help manage gens

As always a great build otz. My favorite build so far is sloppy butcher, monitor and abuse, nurses calling, and the new xeno perk that makes the furthest injured survivor oblivious, I forget what it’s called. When I’m runner mode you have a 16 meter terror radius with MaA, which lets you get a lot closer and easily get hits on people. What I like to do is injure one person and then go after another one. When I down the second one, I hook them and the first is revealed to me, and doesn’t hear my small terror radius at all. If they happen to be healing with another survivor I can see them both with nurses my small TR allows me to hit the healthy survivor, and then down the original survivor, starting a whole new loop of my perks while the only other survivor has to go rescue. If they choose not to heal, my xeno perk gets a lot of sneak attack value, while my small TR contributes to hits on people unaffected by it. Sloppy ties everything together, by increasing the time to heal and making interrupted heals far more valuable. Very fun, stealthy gameplay with 0 gen regression perks. I’m sure it’ll be less effective when playing against higher ranked survivors, but I like to think I’m pretty good at this game so. The add ons I run are both browns too, the cereal rations to see turrets and the egg to not rely on my tunnels too much, which can make your approach a lot more predictable. If you find survivors aren’t healing that often, lethal pursuer can replace sloppy, and buff the xeno perk. Hope y’all enjoy my build.

I'd replace eruption with surveillance. It really helps in the tunnels for hearing gen progress. It also help with pressure by showing you when they are being worked on again.

Honestly the way I visualize the tail attack is literally as it is. It's a sharp and pointy object on the edge of a very bendy rope I control. Moving and looking guides the tip of the tail which will sort of flow in that direction stopping on the first thing it hits. Unlike Nemi, whose whip consists of several hitboxes that can hit multiple things at once, Xeno only gets ONE hitbox and whatever it hits it hits and that's it!

So far on alien ive used coup,deadlock,oppression,and corrupt with rileys watch and the speed boost add-on. It has taken me to iri1 really fast as it allows for a much more aggressive playstyle .

I used Alien with mointor and abuse to pair with the decrease in terror radius when on all fours. I used lethal pursuer to avoid turrets and tunnel to start chases earlier and increase aura reading. I used bbq and darkness revealed. I want to try ultimate weapon with wesker and the perk that increases terror radius. Im sure it would be fun with Alien, but maybe with Wesker, you can cover the entirety of midwich lol

Hi Otz we were theory crafting and had a lot of fun with Self Destruct Bolt (+30% vault when crawler) Acidic Blood (Pallet stun injures for 10s after exiting Control Station) with Superior Anatomy, Spirit Fury, Enduring and Save the Best for Last. Would be awesome if you could give this build a go! We're not 100% on STBFL but we feel claw attack in to tail is pretty strong.

stbfl, alien haste hit perk, blood favor, and your choice of last/gen perk is amazing imo its also a good idea to not just try to hit with tail 24/7 especially if they are right near you. using stbfl ontop of killers you want to m2 with just makes using m1 less bad for you, less of a crutch more of a saving grace.

I actually like to combine "Safe the best for Last" and "Rapid Brutality" it´s such a good combo if you not chasing the obsession and do M1 hits. Also "Monitor and Abuse" might be an interesting choise to lower your TR even more

I haven’t seen anyone recommend this perk, so I might as well do it: monitor and abuse. While in crawler mode, his terror radius is 24 meters. With monitor it lowers it further to 18. It may not be a great perk like it is with myers, but I have caught people off guard quite a bit in my builds.

personally, I use pop and pain res since pain res can give an immediate regression when hooking someone and can allow you enough time to pop the same gen if the survivors are trying to contest the gen (you can go for more bold plays as well). for my other two perks I use 1 info and 1 chase perk, these being discordance as it gives consistent info thought the entire match and allow you to know ideally which gen will get pain res'ed. You can follow up with a pop or be able to split gen pressure without having to visit multiple gens. For my chase perk I use bamboozle to shut off windows and throw people off with that little 10% extra vault speed. For addons I use Kanes helmet for the mangled and try to think of it as a 5th perk and you could use any other addon you think would go well with it. hope you can find some success and fun watching gens lose 1/2 progress within a minute and a half :)
