It still astonishes me that they nerfed Coup even though I can count on one hand how many times I've seen a killer use the perk

My new Clown discovery from last night: You can use the Clown to get the Singularity's achievement to hit 3 Hindered survivors in one trial. (Though, after doing a bit of research, it seems there is a possibility that the achievement was meant to be able to be obtained by any killer, and having the Singularity in the achievement description was a mistake, as apparently the Xbox makes no mention of needing the Singularity to get that achievement.)

The bottle throw at 3:35 to counter the Nancy body block was actually so sick

If they made it so coup was a scourge hook perk I think it would be a lot more usable. It would be more predictable when you get it and you could get it more often.

Coup de grace is also a suprisingly good perk on Bubba, since people wil stay injured against a good bubba and a good bubba uses his M1 usually 5 times a match max.....

Honestly, I want to see some 10k hour Doc or Wraith main writing something like this. If we have a guide for a killer from 2018 this in-depth and spicy, imagine what you would get from an even older killer main who plays nothing but his personal favorite flavor of murder. Although, I do imagine the 10k Doc mains might have a degree in quantum mechanics for some big-brain madness management....

As a former Clown main that attempted to follow the previous iteration of Arinad's guide: There's a lot of interesting and good stuff in there, but a lot of it is makes Clown extremely addon dependent. The primary notion of not breaking most pallets is one with which I largely disagree, and one which Arinad is able to ignore because of addons like Flask of Bleach offering more hindered (thus making the survivor unable to once more complete the loop) or Cigar Box offering aura reading (so you can read the survivor's movements through walls while they cannot see you -- making the mind games one sided). I often like to challenge myself by playing without addons, sometimes just because I'm a hoarder. I've found that a lot of his principles end up with significantly longer chases at a pallet than I would have if I were to simply break the pallet, which also would have the effect of depleting that resource for later in the game. I support more of the strategy that what makes Clown powerful is that he's not an early game killer. All of his strength comes from building him up for late game, where the bottles hurt much more when you don't have pallets left standing. Arinad's strategy, while valid and effective in its own way, runs pretty much directly opposite to this mindset. And survivors that are able to read the killer more effectively that make the mind games less effective can destroy this strategy outright at some loops.

Coup is good if you’re pairing it with exposed effects. And not wasting it for normal attacks unless it’s the last person.

Coming from someone who wrote a few books worth of fighting game guides for my friends, I greatly appreciate the Clown guide and I hope equally informative guides for all the killers get released eventually

I like the idea of Coup getting stacks from unhooks, much like floods. You could get up to 8 per game (so not much more than right now) and it would reward getting many hooks and not camping, which I find a bit more natural because rn u kinda have to lose for it to get value.

i love this so much, clowns one of my favorite killers. So seeing someone so dedicated to a killer is great, i would love if other killers got the same love. Imagine if twins had a player with this amount of dedication 😅

One weird thing that makes Coup a tiny bit better for me peraonally is that it makes me more aware of how many gens get done, because I oftwn find myself realizing, "Hey we are at two gens? Since when?"

I know you already do a ton for this game content wise for the community but I was wondering if maybe we could possibly have a Plague guide at some point in the future? She's easily my fav killer and I've mained her since I started playing 3 years ago and I've even put some builds together that I feel can make her S tier in some cases. Regardless always love your vids and streams thanks again for being the dad to this community!

I'm being incredibly not picky but I always get a good laugh out of it, at 0:47 you said windows of obsession instead of windows of opportunity and I thought it was kind of funny. It is one of those things where obsession is such a commonly used word in the game that it makes sense but I'm just imagining a perk called Windows of Obsession and I don't want to know what it would do 😂. Ohhh that aim dressing thing has 100% happened to me with Deathslinger more times than I would like to admit. I always thought it was lag or the game being a buggy mess. This actually explains a lot.

Otz you actually can turn off auto aim in the config file. Just change the True value to False. You can also set Anti-Aliasing to 0 for a sharper game at higher graphics quality.

It would be interesting to see a build for any killer (Possibly Clown but I could see there being other killers that would get greater use) using Coup De Grace, Machine Learning, and Pain Resonance. The idea of course being Pain Resonance would ensure the generator at most progress is always the one considered Compromised by Machine Learning, and Coup De Grace would give you the boost once that compromised generator is completed. The downside of course being you are running two different perks that are only any benefit when generators are completed.

Funny enough I was just watching your video from two years ago where you played Clown with Coup de Grace and got a really sweet double coup on Meg.

I find it funny how one of the weakest killers makes really good use of two of the weaker perks in the game. Even top tier killers struggle to get value out of Coup de Grace.

the same trick applies to slinger. you can use the harpoon to almost never lunge, and then use coupe de grace to hit speared survivors around corners. i use it all the time whenever i dont have the addons to run the stealth build from before

Coup is an amazing perk honestly, I run it on my huntress a lot and found it really helps with those loops where they force you to m1 and saves you so much time

I'm genuinely convinced that cigar box should be base kit. It would make yellow bottles more appealing and for all intensive purposes it's completely fair since it can backfire on you.

ooh for a similar reason zashin tactics could be quite nice on the singularity, you can plan your movements by seeing what they have available, like if you see 3 pallets close, set a turret in the middle of em, or know when you should take the slipstream bc they wanna drop the pallet....i dont merit that perk very much at all either

I think that perk would be way more fun and way more used if you get to choose when do you wanna use it, for example if it worked like bubba charges, you get your token and only if you are already launching a hit you have the option to hit M2 to activate this perk and extend your launch.

My thoughts on coup is that it relies on knowing when gens will pop and getting into situations that it will be useful. The fact that you have no agency when you get coup means that you could lose a stack mid swing because they finished a gen in that moment. Coup also makes you not able to lunge for hits meaning you lose out on a lot of hits that would only require a normal lunge. I think arinad the person who made the guide likes coup a lot because of his play style which is to tunnel at 5 gens every game so making it easier to win each match and thinking coup won him the match

Making coup a scaling perk that turns it into a lunge-based fireup would be so fun, even if it only increases in small increments 😮

I tried game afoot on singularity and it makes chases so easy. Combining this with iri addon that gives haste or bronze one that increase overclock duration is brutal.

It would be nice if they added a separate button activation for Coup so you could choose when to and when not to use it without sacrificing normal lunges. Like having to press m1 with your interact button at the same time for example

You can go into the config file and switch autoaim off, same as vertical sync to unlock FPS. Funnily enough, after playing like this for 6 months I can tell you with certainty - it doesn’t switch off.

i’ve been using cou on huntress for the past few months. for people whove been playing thousands of hours against killers it makes it simple against those people who cant be hit with her power on small tall loops
