From her daytime talk show. This is around 1990 when their album "Alone Together" was released. It's a lot of fun. Steve is very funny and Eydie is a class act as always.
Steve & Eydie for those who are not aware were truly super stars for decades and performed sold out concerts around the world. The magical voice of Eydie and laid back style of Steve was show biz personified. A great couple both publicly and privately.
I have to say my parents had a restaurant next to Chateau De Ville in Framingham. Steve and Eydie would come. My Brother died at 28 from the same thing and they would chat about it. Both were pleasant and when I would try to listen in at my young age I'd get thrown out. They came to my parents restaurant for 20 years. Great people. I won't talk about the Osmonds. LOL
90 'waren fantastisch hé, spijtig dat ik nooit of nooit thuis was toen om tv te zien ,die Steve had de mooiste stem ooit ,en Joan wat een vrouw spijtig dat ze gestorven is!
OH how I loved Joan Rivers. She was a talented interviewer, asking questions that were ever-so-nosy but fascinating. Then she would sit back and listen. ❤❤❤
Steve never lets Eydie talk. He does compliments her on her accomplishments in her Spanish singing. Losing their son was hard on both of them especially on Eydie. But they manage to stay together til Eydie death in 2013. RIP Eydie.
Steve and Eydie were icons. In 2024 I still love to listen to them. When Steve lost Eydie he lost his soulmate. Steve is now suffering from Altzheimers. God Bless both of them. 🙏✝️🕯🕊💗
I’ve been nuts about Steve for the longest time. I love them together, and got to see them in concert once. What a thrill. But Steve…could sing the phone book (if anybody can find one) and I’m happy! ❤️
Wonderful. Wonderful people. So talented and so funny, even after all the hurt they'd seen. Those were still good and refreshing shows to watch, compared to nowadays and I am only 45, but always loved older music and the mentality of the elders. May their beautiful souls be kept in Heaven above forever. Amén.🙏 Eso fue una verdadera historia de amor. Even the crowd was loving and respectful. Those were the times they had Real stars with Real behaviors and Really Good art , music and television. Q.E.P.D. Mucho amor desde Bélgica.💯🍀👋🌷👋
Steve is a bit of a comedian, comedians frequently have a hard time letting other people talk. There used to be an interview on here they did with Larry King, after watching it you thought why did Eydie come along Steve didn’t let her get a word in edgewise.
@@cmcb09 I followed Steve and Eydie for years and even emailed with her near her end, a bunch of times, when she stopped responding. She had plenty to say but loved him so much, I guess it wasn't important enough for her to fight that.
@@victorblock3421 Yeah he did but he always complimented her. Especially on her Spanish in this interview. I think it was hard for her losing their son and probably didn't want to speak.
Her ethnic background is Sephardic Jewish, Jews that had origins in Spain and Portugal. There were many Sephardic Jews in the Bronx where I grew up. They spoke Spanish. Although Jewish they did identify with some Spanish cultural traditions.
She was able to sing Bolero and Latin traditional songs. perfectly without knowing the Mexican culture was amazing. Rocio Durcal was Spaniard also intrepreted Latin pop, Mariachi and Ranchera so well. I didnt think Edyie ever lived in Mexico but the way she did Sabor A mi with Los Ponchos.....
I beg to differ with a couple of you, but I thought Steve & Edie divorced. They weren't together til the end. Also, Edie is not Spanish even tho she cut a Spanish language album.
They never divorced, they were together till she passed in 2013. And Eydie was Sephardic Jewish, and grew up speaking Spanish at home, that's why she was fluent and made Spanish language albums all the way back to the 50's with the Trio Los Panchos. In fact her first job before becoming a singer was as a Spanish interpreter at the U.N.
@@eydieandstevesongs7996 Okay, you win. Except I remember distinctly seeing Steve on a TV show singing solo, and Edie on a different occasion singing solo. At the time, I was certain they were going their separate ways. I knew Edie was Jewish. My favorite Christmas song is the two of them singing, "Happy Holidays."
