This guy tells you to go read Serra's writings to conclude that he loved "Indians".. so what were the Cat-O'-Nine-Tails and clubs and garrotes used for? Serra lied in his writings. Ofcourse he'd make the treks, he was former Spanish military and had their help. I think Spain had bigger problems closer to home than to waste time locking eyes with the Russo's, so they saw no point in standing in the middle of the U.S.'s westward expansion and Fort Ross. And this thing about "A Amar a Dios" being read backwards as "God Loves You"... wouldn't that be displeasingly unorthodox for such a devout Christian? And NO "El Camino Real" does not translate into "The Royal Road", it translates to "The Real Path", as in the way to God which they exploit and which was also exploited by those who sought to fund the road development to keep attracting commerce. It all starts with a lie, they still just won't say it.
