8:31 I can't wait for automotive companies to implement some sort of device that can let other drivers know when we are turning. A flashing light would be pretty dope.
Guarantee you the rider was going like 45 over and thought "if I pull over before the lights come on, I'm not technically getting pulled over and they can't prove it was me riding." I base that off of my friend who got this exact scenario to work for him one time (failed him three more times immediately after and got his shit impounded, but never mind that). There's also no footage leading up this disagreement, so it's safe to assume the uploader conveniently left out incriminating spedo readings lol.
Why would a sidecar bike think he can take a corner THAT fast ?? Luckily no one was in the sidecar. Which come to think about it is probably why he couldn’t make the outside turn at all.
Regarding that dude with the panda (11:20 ish). Yes the car was in the wrong for what they did, but all in all the biker's main focus should be to maintain his own safety, not prove who has right of way. Wife's grandfather walked on a crossing (cars have to yield here) cause it was his right... He was damaged for the rest of his life, unable to eat without using his fingers to assist his mouth, etc etc... Point being: just make sure you're safe, don't give a * about who's in the right or not.
Good episode :) as a new rider my self even as a UK rider I find these quite insightful and as I get more experienced I do find my self scratching my head a bit at these as a lot of these appear to be completely avoidable.
4:05 Also, be on the inside of the lane. The Charger probably looked in their mirrors -- but they can't see a motorcycle on the outside of the lane. When approaching traffic, be in view of their mirrors -- the inside of the lane. As you come alongside, then transition to the middle or outside as you deem necessary.
At about the 18:00 mark, the jerk on the motorcycle must have been speeding like you said and saw the cop and pulled over thinking that the cop has to pull him over. WRONG. BTW, calling a cop a f---ing d--k isnt going to help you. You got caught, now take it like a man.
Open book pelvic injuries are caused by the wedge shape of our fuel tanks. A subject of discussion I've been bringing up with my new rider students is that if you've done all of your emergency braking but the collision is still imminent is it worth standing up so you get thrown OVER instead of into your tank and the side of the car? Tuck and roll at that point. Any thoughts about that Dan?
Its more about the wedge shape of the area we sit on. So sitting position is important. I assume it would be worse on a cruiser than a rocket. But you change the angle far enough and you make your head into a dart.
yeah i’ve thought about this as well. The thing is these things happen so fast, reaction time to stand up when the accident has already progressed to that point then being able to stand up.
17:40 the situation is once a police officer ask for the DL and registration, the driver/rider has to provide it otherwise he/she is obstructing the police investigation of finding out who the driver/rider is and if he/she has warrants and if the vehicle is properly registered or stolen. That's why police can claim obstruction for not getting the documents during a traffic stop
I think the rider that got ticketed by the cop was riding with his dingaling out, cop saw it just before the rider put it away, the cop ain't havin it, so he's trying to arrest him for obstruction of his view of the riders dingaling.
Dan, I know speed is fun and all...but I wish you would point out more that speed is the problem. Speed of the rider. I believe you know there are nice cushions to maintain. Speed is not the answer.
15:48 Cop is right. Obstruction is not following directions of an officer, like producing your licence and registration. Arresting him for the situation is a bit extreme, but biker is being a dickhead and trying to use a straw man argument to get out of trouble.
It's one of those, if you'd just followed direction instead of arguing you'd be on your way quicker. Possibly with a ticket in hand, but don't do the crime if you don't want to do the time 🤷♂
They have to have a crime 1st. You cant obstruct an investigation without a crime. 4th amendment protects this. But I think the biker did something...😊
at 3:05 the rider was in the lanes marked for parking and the car had his turn signal on to turn into Wendy's. Rider should have slowed down as he was behind the car in the mark parking space lane.
There's not a country in the world where a police officer wouldn't arrest you for telling them to fuck off, that they're being a dick and being just generally insubordinate. If a cop asks you to show your ID, license or whatever, while you're on your way walking to the grocery store to get two apples, only proper reaction is to say: "certainly, here it is.", answer their questions, be polite and be on your merry way afterwards.
Refusing to provide license and registration to an officer while you are on the road (or if you are suspected of committing a crime) is 100% obstruction. And there is no law that says you can't be cited for riding/driving violations if the officer didn't light you up and pull you over while you were in the process of committing them (the "you didn't stop me while I was actively murdering that person, so you can't arrest me now" argument).
That will depend on a couple of things. If the state has a "stop and id statute" then they can ask at will and you have to comply (I believe those are unconstitutional, but that's a different matter). Otherwise, the officer has to provide reasonable articulable suspicion that the person has, is or will be committing a crime to ask for ID. The US Constitution is there to LIMIT government power and overreach, not expand it.
@Thomas_Tolson depending on which State it happens, some don't have to provide the "ras" to the person detained, just to the judge if the person wants to fight the ticket.
Thousand percent, that guy was speeding and thought he could get away by saying "that wasn't me, I'm on the side of the road." The cop could've explained it better but guaranteed it's on the cop's dash cam.
I hit a deer with my moms ford expedition once. There was shit all over the side of it. When I told my parents (they were out country when it happened) first thing my dad asked was if the truck was ok. So i didnt clean it. The vehicle was fine btw. Just smeared with shit and tuffs of hair stuck in the mouldings. Dad was mad I didnt clean it and my response was that he was more worried about the vehicle than me so i didnt. His rebuttal was that i called him so i must have been fine lol..... Dads I guess lol. Probably do the same to my kid if i had one.
Hi ddfm (fun story) so, motorcycle rider on stolen motorcycle walks away from cop because he is carrying no registration on motorcycle because he stole ithe bike... So, motorcycle rider hops the gaurd rail . While cop is in hot pursuit. Cop trips and falls down on his face practically and Motorcycle rider (the thief) takes off running over grassy hill, ( bluff). but ( thief) is apprehended very soon by more cops on the top of hill on residential neighborhood because,, suspicious neibors call cops when many neighbors. Become overtly suspicious, and paranoid from watching motorcycle rider running through their neighborhood. ((Crime watch neighborhood)). Most likly scenario. Crime watch neighbors are very paranoid of everyone they encounter as suspicious. ❤
Biker at 17and some change, left the cops moms house, she left butt prints on her front windows, and the cop caught up to the rider, his obstruction is, he wants a baby brother!
ok, the school bus clip. Like a motorcycle rider, the bus will 'claim' its spot in the lane. If it was coming to a full stop with passenger egress the driver wants to make it clear to not pass. Getting upset with a school bus driver is lame.
Disagree on your cop logic. If he saw him and had probably cause to stop or ask for it at least my state your are required to give you license, insurance and. Registration. Failure to do so would be obstruction
10:55 is a snowflake rider. The suv has plenty of space to merge, the rider has plenty of time to break or change lane, rider decided not to do something until he had the suv on top of him, rev bombed instead of doing something. He thinks he owns the road for the next 10km
Audio is super bad in this one. So bad I find the video unwatchable. You need to fix your export settings. Every video you upload to RU-vid is too quiet. Right-click the video and select "Stats for Nerds" where you'll see RU-vid measures this video as 8.8 dB too quiet. That number is supposed to be at or near 0.0.
I think this is just a bot comment. They take comments from other videos and randomly post them under other videos. Just report the account as a bot/spam.
Any cop that goes straight to obstruction i dont trust and seems more like a power tripping officer that pulls that stuff all the time. If youre a well educated officer you dont need to go straight to that..
