I edited this about a year ago for a class I was teaching to show the value of using "eye tracing".
Basically, the idea is that wherever the focal point is on shot 1, the focal point on shot 2 should begin in a similar position in the frame. And so on for all subsequent shots.
If instead the audience is constantly scanning all around the screen to catch up with your new focal point position, they'll eventually start to feel exhausted.
You can see in this Mad Max sequence they don't make the eye trace completely consistent 100% of the time. But they do it enough to make watching it easy on the audience.
Since I had just slapped it together for a class without planning too far ahead I just ripped it directly from someone else's RU-vid upload and then edited it further. Based on the watermark on the top right it looks like it was @KimerLorens. Thanks for uploading it originally!
