Very nice.Nigeria needs restructuring that will enable states to build their infrastructure rather than waiting on federal government.Infrastructure is the bedrock that will bring all these other revenue sector to the main.Beautiful place, love it.will visit whenever l come home.
This is what makes me consider visiting Nigeria, to see such a beautiful wildlife and beautiful nature. Before I watched this video however, I had seen some terrible other videos with cruelty towards animals, with chained captive wild animals who were forced to perform in the streets. That would definately scare/keep tourists away from a country, no one wants to see animals suffering.
Please is this different from 'Yakari Game Reserve'? I remember I went on School Escortion when I was in ABU Zaria, in 1988! That was the best Game Reserve anyone could have visited. That memory can never come-off me.
People would rather just go to east or southern africa for safaris. I guess they just dont understand that there are safaris in west Africa too. People need to understand that there is amazing wildlife and nature in West Africa too, not just in East and southern Africa.
Nomi Chomi I agree: we should be patronizing and supporting our own wildlife parks and reserves. But vacationers worry about safety. As a Lagos resident, the idea of going deep into the North makes me uneasy. It may be an unfounded feeling, but it’s there, despite the assurances of the state governor in the media. And then there’s the issue of transportation and our awful road networks. I’ll do what I can from where I am to support our parks and reserves, but sadly, I might not visit them for some time (after coronavirus lockdowns)
I just hate it when people say that there is no wildlife in west africa. West Africa has wildlife too, it's just different from the ones in east and southern africa
I am not surprised Nigeria doesn't attract tourists and that is saying a lot. Our money is circulating in one area amongst the elite. PLEASE reconstruct the roads, provide infrastructures that will wow tourists to want to come to Nigeria to spend their money to see this park. Provide jobs to our youth. It is really embarrassing for me when people ask me places to visit and I can barely name one that is beautiful and fascinating even to our country people. Please do something (government).
I am an American who visited Nigeria as a tourist. The real reason why tourists don't come to Nigeria is because your country makes it very hard to get a visa. The Nigerian visa is actually one of the most difficult visas to get in the world. I personally know two people traveling from South Africa to Morocco who had to change their trips because Nigeria would not give them a visa. I had the same problem in 2016 when I could not get a visa when I was visiting neighboring Benin so I had to come back in 2018. Nigeria only gives visas in a person's country of residence which is ridiculous. Even the USA doesn't require that.
There are wonderful places to visit in Nigeria. Yankari, Sumu, Erin Ijesa, Agodi park. Personally, I've been to Erin Ijesa with its multilevel waterfall. I've also been to the UI zoo. My aunty visited the Yankari reserve, says its an awesome place. One thing is Nigerians don't appreciate what they have.
@Seun. What you see in this video is not beautiful enough? One thing is clear: You and many other Nigerians feel the country has no good thing to offee. Open your eyes, this is good enough to see.
This place is beautiful. It definately makes me consider visiting Nigeria. You have everything like nice weather, nice beaches, beautiful nature like this and beautiful wildlife. What I would fear and make me stay away from Nigeria is to see cruelty towards animals, since I watched some scary examples of that on youtube with captured wildlife who was forced to perform. No one wants to see animals suffering. That really keep tourists away. Another thing is that I would be scared about is the crime rate, but not so much (you always read: don't go out at night and so on)
Allen Jeyarajasingam maybe nit in other nations in the region but we are talking about Naija a nation with many climatic zones similar to what those animals are used to so it makes sense that they can be found in naija
They really need to increase the number of wildlife species to first of all attract we the local tourists before considering the external ones Bauchi has been shielded from the insecurity news that we’ve been inundated with and I think that’s a good platform for the Govt there to start work on Welldone governor truly hoping you can have the political will to carry out your vision
Given the opportunity ,Bauchi State would have been one of the best tourists center in Nigeria:(Yankari Game Reserve)We need a visionary leader who will put his search light there.Hmmmm,I was there last week of July,2018
Sorry guys, but you're not going to attract much interest from international tourists for a park that has less than 300 elephants, no lions, 1 single leopard which has only been seen on a camera trap, a few imported antelope (none of which are hard to find elsewhere) and some monkeys.
