Back in early 1989-1990 I had a bandroom right next to these guys at a rehearsal Warehouse in New Orleans. This was before any of the heavy detuned DropD bands had gotten big yet. I think Alice in Chains and Soundgarden were just coming up, but that sound was just not that well-known yet. Anyway, we used to hear them rehearsing and I mean our room would just vibrate so heavily and we were all like what the hell is that??? I'd never heard that low pitched sort of formless roaming growling sound before. They sounded back then just like they do now in this video.
This is the best of what New Orleans has to offer. Fucking incredible riffage tight as hell band. Sludge like stoner metal with angry lyrics. Fucking love that guitar man!!
eyehategod literally helps my ocd if somethings not at its right place and stuff is not put in order and things like that I go insane, when I listen to eyehategod I enjoy the chaos in a way and relax for a moment
Eyehategod are legends. They've been there through thick and thin in a way few bands can. Great memories and bad. It's a blessing that they're still here, as good as ever doing what they do. Hail & cheers to Mike IX & co!
The undisputed Kings!!! Still, I gotta say that they sound so much fuller live with that second guitar-Patton! That shit would shake your bowels and make you wanna shit.😊
bro i just experienced this a few nights ago. its like they have perfected straddling this threshold of volume and aggression that is near bodily harm, but still tolerable and satisfying. fucking insane inside of a dive bar. watching a show on youtube or even listeniung to their albums at super high volumes does not do the pure sonic assault justice
Saw these guys in Southampton last night (16/08/23), and hung out with Gary and Jimmy. Smoked a j with Gary and got put on the guestlist by Jimmy. Hung with the guys from Church of Misery and they were super cool and friendly. Made a paella for EHG and Jimmy said it was excellent!
The person who mixed and mastered this show did a lousy job, the bass is almost "unhearable", the voice is a lot on your face and the guitar sounds not loud enough, the drums are good
