i love this! i still need to practice applying eyeliner with my eye open, it's still really hard for me to see what i'm doing with my eye open! but i loved this! thank you!
Maria Palermo use a compact mirror and look downward at the mirror so you have more eyelid space to work with. Then look up into the main bathroom mirror to check your work from time to time
I have watched many tutorials for gel eyeliner and they all got me miffed until I came across yours, quick and simple instructions without harping on and on about nonsense, so thank you and keep up the good work 👍👍

Do you have any tips on 'watery tear ducts'? I love the cat eye look and just extending a bit in the inner corner anyway, but I have really watery eyes and within 10 minutes it's all smudged and a big black mess in my tear duct area x
A cool eyeliner look i love is doing a winged liner (a light - medium one not one like BAM thick) and then extending my line to my tear duct similar to a cat eye but thinner. and either leaving it like that or making 4 lines on my lower lash line that extend downwards a bit (kinda like a subtle scarecrow and imagine drawing cartoon eyelashes basically)
This has been extremely helpful Shonagh, Thank you so much. I was wondering do you have any tips for us glasses wearers. My issue is I wear glasses and when I take them off, I'm blind as a bat and unfortunately can't wear contact lenses. So I can barely see to do my eye make up, even with a magnified lens!! So, I end up getting dead close to the mirror, knocking the ends of my brushes and eyeliner into the mirror which then poke me in the eyes or face and making a ridiculous mess of my eyes, lol. Then by the time I finally get some sort of eye look done, I stick my glasses on and all my hard work almost disappears behind them. So its got to the stage now that I barely go to the effort of doing much with my eyes, just liner and mascara which is a bit dull and boring and I personally hate not having striking eyes. Do you have any tips for us glasses wearers, for applying (blindly!!) and styles that can actually be seen? I'd love to hear them if you have any tips. Thanks for sharing this, its invaluable info. Carol Studdert Thank You! It's nice to know I'm not alone, lol. It's bad enough not being able to see when I put my eye makeup on, but having to squint when doing it means when I put my glasses on and relax my eyes to see what I've done, me squinting has meant I've made some dodgy line or gone too heavy on part of my eyelid or water line because of wrinkling up my eyes, teehee. Such a disaster! Lol. If I could wear contacts I would, but sadly I can't. And I can't afford the lazer surgery, so until someone comes up with a one pill solution for dodgy eyesight.....my eye make up may be forever dodgy, teehee. Lee xx
My eyes started to water while watching this. I have really sensitive eyes and anytime I put liner on my waterline my eyes go all red and watery. Your eyes are really pretty BTW, is that your natural colour?
OK your eyelash is amazing! Thank u for this video, its really helpful.. When I say I struggle to do this, I mean I struggle! Maybe a should invest in some good gel eyeliner and a brush. Once again great video!
Sparkle James If you've not got on with a liquid try a gel. Usually it's a case of changing up the product and brush, and finding what works best for you.

That's a lot of make up. Is it waterproof? Id hate any if that to smudge & how do you remove all of that? I use very lil eyeliner & i struggle to get it off & i generally use pencil. It's funny because it will smudge before i can wipe it off lol. Go figure! !
Amazing looks! I always wear black liquid liner underneath as I rarely need to reapply unlike with pencil. I definitely need to try these looks soon :)
OMG Shonagh, you are so amazing doing the eyeliner on yourself. I still am not so great at it! Did you ever think of doing a Marilyn Monroe makeup tutorial? I think you would do a great job at it!
Susan Gentil Thanks Susan, I've had tons of practice - Been wearing it for about 15 years! Lol.. I did think about it, but my Hollywood Red Carpet look was similar to her style so I thought I'd wait until next year before I do another look of that style. But thanks for the suggestion, I'll do it for sure :)
Hi Shonagh!!! Love this tutorial, you're stunning as usual :) Im going to have to practice putting on eyeliner with my eyes open. I usually close my eyes and gently pull it taut. Maybe because I have hooded eyes? I'll try it with open eyes and report back. Love you!
