This movie would have been buried but the fact that Stanley Kubrick chose two actors (a Hollywood elite power couple) that at the time could not be glossed over is really the smartest and most important thing that went into making this movie and keeping it alive all these years.

You know the title "eyes wide shut" itself is quite interesting. "E.W.S" stands for 'Early warning signs', a score chart used by doctors (our main character in this movie is a doctor). There's more too the title if you look into it.

I saw an interview with someone who explained how Eyes Wide Shut was initially far more incriminating but after Kubrick died ( or murdered ), they tamed the movie down considerably. Very hard to get a mainstream movie released without the approval of these controllers.

This film is all the more amazingly revealing and brave after the revelations in the Epstein trials and "suicide", as well as Pizza Gate. It seems all the themes and subtexts of the film were a mirror of what went on in Epstein's Estates; by the elites aboard "The Lolita Express".

I was shocked to hear the backwards Orthodox Liturgy in the film. Evil.

You know what I got out of this film? The elite are bored out of their minds, are as miserable as any dumb need-driven pauper, and invent strange ways of escaping the reality they feel trapped in, and giving the finger to the God they despise.

What I gathered from this film and the many reviews I've watched on RU-vid, including this one, is that Stanley Kubrick was a real genius. 400 days of principle photography and the legendary multiple takes, means that there is nothing that is not supposed to be there; Every frame, the lighting, costumes, set design, camera movement, acting behaviors, editing, etc is there for a very specific reason. ALL of it is part of how the story is told; the camera flair on purpose to give focus to sexual tension, the specific dialogue, scenes with and without the Christmas lights. This film was such a bore when I saw it first in the theater. Now with the help of so much critical review, I feel it is one of the pure masterpieces from perhaps the greatest filmmaker of our time. One part of the analysis missed at 28:12 is that sociology books aren't just a reference to social relations, but sociology is one of the principle tools by which social engineering takes place. I personally see 3 layers to the film: the obvious occult one, the subtler 'man-woman relationship and marriage dilemma' and way more subtler 'sex as a very powerful and dangerous drive of a human species'.

One thing I noticed is there’s at least 2 cannabis plants, potted, in places they shouldn’t be. One at the hotel lobby where Bill was talking to the desk clerk, and one at his house, near the kitchen.

MK Ultra was huge in Canada, I think even a Canadian professor is responsible for starting it, he kept some patients asleep for years, and did all kinds of illegal things to his patients. Bill, Alice and Helena were all initiated into the cult. In the final scene it looks as though Bill and Alice vaguely say goodbye to Helena as she walks toward the men from the cult who are looking at a pedo bear. As soon as Helena walks away from her parents toward the men, the tiger stuffed animals behind Alice come into shot. It’s the same stuffed animal on the bed next to Domino when Bill goes to her apartment, so it likely symbolizes prostitution. Kubrick was extremely deliberate with props and imagery, so it’s doubtful the inclusion of the men from the cult and the stuffed animal tigers were coincidental and that Kubrick is signaling human trafficking of children in the final scene.

I took note of the fact that Alice's pursuer describes himself as "Hungarian" though he may well be, I hear from an older gentleman who was heavily involved in the swinger scene in the late 70's and 80's and into to the 90's that saying that one was"Hungarian" was a code word for being well endowed,even if you family were no closer to Hungary than Dublin..

At approximately 7:05 when Jay says the words, "Nicole Kidman's backside", a commercial suddenly popped up and enthusiastically replied, "Do *I* have a treat for *you* !" Lol. Yeah...uh, no thanks.

I have studied Stanley Kubrick all of my life. I was even lucky enough to have met his wife Christiane in Frankfurt in 2004. She didn't want Stanley to make this film, because she was afraid of its possible outcome to him, to her, to their family. Believe it or not, he wanted to make Eyes Wide Shut since at least he was still working on 2001. Kubrick appeared to believe that freedom and social libertarianism is still worth pursuing even if mankind is ultimately ignoble, and that evil on the part of the individual-however undesirable-is still preferable in contrast to the evil of a totalitarian, cabal that is pulling our strings and desires in perverting them. Things that where cut from the final film included a very visual and pornograpic, a deeply sexualized Hieronymus Bosch hell-like aesthetic, which featured many hidden symbolics, as a way not unlike the things he already told us in »The Shining«). I saw this when you first put it out, just revisiting again since it's so relevant now. One huge indicator that she might be connected is that a family doctor's salary could never afford that huge beautiful apartment in new york.

In the film there is quite a few clues towards 'Child sex' and I have always wondered if the deleted 21 minutes exposed this. The numerous references to Rainbows and 'over the rainbow' can be taken a few ways. In Ziegler's bathroom there's a large painting of a naked pregnant lady in a suggestive pose. In the costume shop, Mr Millich's daughter is engaging in sexual activity with 2 men presumably for some financial arrangement or because she enjoys sex which then implies she's been sexually active for sometime and begs the questions how and why a child can become this wanton. She then whispers to Bill that he should hire the 'Ermine' cloak which to me suggests she knows exactly where Bill is about to go.......Ermine is the fur from a stoat which was used in royal clothing. Also in medieval times, stoats were said to hold the souls of children who'd died before being baptised. When Bill returns the costume we're made aware that Mr Millich is now selling his daughter for sex and his conscience is absolutely in the freezer about it. Finally and the biggest one of all is the scene in the toy shop where Bill's daughter is escorted away in the background by the same 2 old gentlemen who were at Ziegler's party in the beginning of the film, who were sat at the table at the bottom of the staircase. I think it's safe to assume where they are taking her and why.

The ending seems very cryptic. visually. Teddy bears enter the final scenes. The daughter runs off at the first scene when the massive shelves of teddy bears appears , and the last scene when we see the daughter for the final time before kidman and cruise have their final dialogue. We see two older men holding and talking about a small teddy bear. we can see they are together, no wives or children with them. they exit the scene , before doing so, kidman looks their way, im not saying she looks at them, but their way. the daughter heads where the two men were at, she gives kidman a strange glance , kidman looks at her daughter aswell and that is the last time we see the daughter. we dont see if the daughter left the asle , following the two men ,or if she is still there. it is questionable if she left with the two men or not. but since we know that the upper elites do engage in highly secretive sex orgies, not only with adults but children aswell. we can acknowledge the hints of the ending scene. it also seems like the first older man quickly glances towards kidmans way before he and the other man exit the scene.

Anyone else notice that the costume/mask dealer's name is "Milich" but if you open the eyes so to speak it is spelled "Moloch" which denotes an ancient sacrificial oriented deity? Hence the title of the film, Eyes Wide Shut. Was Kubrick playing upon words with the title? The book was entitled Dream Story by Schnitzler, so did Kubrick have any particular rationale in this title?

Could the character being named Alice be implying that the character had already been through the looking glass? It seems somewhat unavoidable to examine so many of the esoteric subject matter without discussing the "Alice" series. Maybe an application of the title of "Lost Boys" could be an indicator of those who have gone through the initiation. Peter Pan seems applicable.

Man ive been a fan of Stanley Kubricks films for a long time, always felt that his movies had some type of weird message at times it was confusing. Since ive been researching the occult and weird shit the NWO are planning its like having a code breaker. The part where you stated that Kidman's character possibly was the one to bring Cruise's character into this fold gets even more interesting when you consider Kidman's father. Methinks Nicole is a high priestess or whatever, in the System. Edit: Kubrick was still one of them, though. One cannot make it on your t.v or radio or the politikal stage without being compromised and one of them. We should all turn from them.

Given the artist that Kubrick is, I can see why he would be fascinated with the occult while not being a practitioner himself. In Kubrick's films everything in the frame is there for a reason, everything has meaning, nothing is there by chance, everything is a part of a whole and exists to serve the story. Practitioners of these kind of cults believe in a hidden order to the apparent randomness of things and, of course, that they understand this order and that they covet this knowledge and form hierarchical social organizations based on this so-called knowledge. So, Kubrick believes everything in the frame exists for a reason -- because he put it there and he is the high priest in that he knows what it all means -- and the cult extend their frame to the entire world and their priests claim to understand it all. The cult is the same as any fundamentalist interpreter of the occult or religion in that they believe in the literal "magic" of it all. This is the difference between the artist and the priest, a great artist does not hypnotize himself into believing the magic of his craft. The priest, on the other hand, has his eyes wide shut, which is to say, while aware of a lot more than the average person, ultimately the occult people do not see reality either because they practice question begging and claim to know, dogmatically. what they don't know. They are dangerous. That said, I don't believe Alice (Kidman) is part of the cult and that she is leading husband Bill into it (although that level of cynicism sounds like Kubrick). While there are plenty of signs for this interpretation, I think the most obvious reasons this is not the case because she would have done it long before now and also that, had she wanted to introduce him to this world, she could have done so in a more direct way. I think Alice (Kidman) has her eyes open. If most people have them wide shut, then someone in the story must represent an awareness and it certainly isn't Ziegler or Nightingale or Sandor or the high priest at the orgy. Alice knows what her husband doesn't, she knows that the ritual and practice of marriage does not automatically make her secure and free from the destructive ramifications of giving in to the temptations of the id impulse. Her husband Bill seems to believe he is protected by his marriage and therefore can screw around and not have to face consequences. Alice has experienced a temptation greater than Bill ever has and she did not yield to it, but she is aware that she could have and in that awareness is in touch with her own vulnerability. Bill walks through life half aware, as most people, and is pretty easily tempted by his own desires because you can tell he rationalizes his behavior. The story needs Alice to be an example of someone with her eyes open, otherwise, why is she there? It would be unnecessarily cynical for her to be manipulating her husband -- and daughter -- all along. For what purpose? Remember, Kubrick leaves out NOTHING and that includes not just symbols but what the characters stand for as well. If Alice is a manipulating cult member who gets fucked at orgies, then Kubrick would be telling us that the only alternative to naivte is the kind of bullshit knowledge that Ziegler represents. A well told story requires the tension between those two representations of the world, and Alice exists to pull us toward awareness against the gravitational pull toward sloth and lust but also away from the cynical pretentiousness of fundamentalist occult (i.e. the most literal interpretations of religion). Note to self. Re-write this. This is a first draft.

Another fantastic analysis. I enjoy hearing the connection you make to ancient, esoteric knowledge. There were two things in the film that you didn't mention that seem important: 1) Stanley Kubrick makes an appearance in the scene where Bill meets Nick in the bar. This scene seems to indicate how Kubrick sees himself in relation to the audience and story. 2) The potentially implied abduction of Bill's daughter in the toy store. The two men seen sitting at a table at the bottom of the stairs at Zigler's party (the last image you show in your video) and one of the men handing out drinks at the party are seen approaching the little girl in the toy store (as she approaches them). One of them holds a black duffel bag to his chest as he approaches her from the side.

The question that sticks on my mind is why Bill? Is it because he’s handsome? Is it because of his family name? Does the cult need a doctor? This movie gets better and is more intriguing after every watch.

I didn’t know this till just now, but Domino also means : 1. a large, hooded cloak with a mask covering the eyes, worn at masquerades. 2. the mask. or 3. a person wearing such dress. The origin in French refers to a hood and mask costume.

I noticed that the people being exploited in the film were women. There was so much talk of and clips of breasts. I notice the rainbow symbolism was very strong too, with the multi colored Christmas tree lights and rainbow costume store where a ‘child’ was being pimped out to foreign men. The rainbow can be interpreted as LGBT symbolism but I believe the rainbow was actually meant to represent the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls which is a Freemason organisation for young girls and daughters of Freemasons from age 11 to 20. I wouldn’t be surprised if this organisation is one big pedo and trafficking ring for daughters of men that the Freemasons have dirt on and can blackmail.

The last 2 minutes of this is everything, at 1:03:49 Why do you think people don't care about the muffin man, but they get into arguments about sports? It is because of the energy (mental and emotional) that we feed to different causes. Someone marketed sports and convinced people that they are important, but it still took compliance from people to feed it energy by talking about it. The way for secret groups to gain power is to convince you that they have been existent and already incredibly powerful to begin with. The are gaining the very influence they seek, by marketing themselves as boogeymen of magical powers. They rule by triggering and feeding fear. The best way to take down their power is actually to not talk about it at all, to not give it any mental or emotional energy, to not feed their movement in any way. Treat it like a child throwing a tantrum. Compassion. Focus on love. Focus on the things you love about your life and the world, on gratitude - and those evils will lose power and cease to exist.

The picture of the child (with the "strain all urine" sign) in the MKULTRA example is one of the pictures used in one of the Scientology front groups anti-psychology magazine. The issue of the magazine is full of photos like that. Since I've learned more about Scientology and intelligence agencies, it made me wonder how Scientology got all of the pictures and became aware of the massive amounts of abuse of people in mental hospitals in the first place. Maybe it is meant to send the tampered with people running right into another abusive group created to keep them quiet and crazy? Kubric lost one of his daughters to Scientology and was very unhappy about it. I believe it was Vivien, the one who filmed the documentary on set while he filmed The Shining.

I watched it a few times. Each scene confirms or contains elements of the one previous to it. Colors blue and red are always used in opposite to each other as for sleeping/unconscious vs. awaked/initiated. Bill is totally unware of the world in which he lives. Alice has been initiated for a very long time and is prepping her daughter to keep the cult going. Missing part could be at the beginning, after the dance with Zaldor and before he makes it to the House. I could not find out how she was able to recognized him. He had just walked in while Mandy was already in the circle. Nick did recognized Alice and her also, so she bailed out. Domino had a few masks or her wall. "Domino" was just a number who also vanished after the party. Alice was sleeping in her room next to the phone. She was informed of all of his doing and acted it very well. Scaring the crap out of him and made him aware that she knows exactly what he did. Her dream was a total re-enactment of how he felt. She kept the mask and Bill felt totally lost. This is the best breakdown of the film I have seen. All references make sense and have got my in a spiral of thought.

The same font visually unites Cruise, Kidman and Kubrick (a rather unusual move to have the lead actors and the movie director listed like this). A cruise is voyage on a boat taken for pleasure. Kidman / Kid Man /: children and men. And a "kubrick" (кубрик) in Russian, is a term for a sleeping space for the crew on a boat, usually a small, tight space with many beds. This is literally an invitation in plain sight--Come CRUISE with KID(s) and MA(e)N and a KUBRICK-bed is always ready for you and other "sailors." A hidden meaning right in your face, from Kubrick himself, the master of visual symbolism!

One point to add, is that the hartfords red haired child is innocuously shuttled away at the very finale of the film, by an equally innocuous looking elderly couple who remarkably resemble the couple seated at the bottom of the stairs at the Xmas party, which brings the whole narrative right back into the real world and away from any notions of the abstract: the child has just, if even momentarily, been taken away. Will she end up in the back of a white Renault transit van to become a statistic, as many do, or will her esoteric education alternatively be continued as she is slowly, insidiously groomed in the aristocratic way? You go over very good of the philosophy of the elite cult today. They just combine and rehash ancient Hindu philosophy into their own cult I noticed. My analysis of the ending is that Tom and Nicole end up trafficking their daughter into the cult so they can be left alone. They watch their daughter walk off down the aisle (towards 2 men who appeared at Ziegler's party) and then she isn't seen again. Nor do they seek her out. Then Nicole says the next thing they need to do is f*ck, because they need a new child to replace the one they just gave away.

Unless I missed you mentioning it, the one thing I noticed was the x-mas lights are literally everywhere during the movie, except the last scene when he comes home, he turns them off and then they're gone from the film. Could it be as simplistic as him waking up and turning off the lights of the dream world or am I missing something? Another movie I need to watch 5 more times, lol.

I've always loved this movie and been intrigued by it. This is quite enlightening!

But was Mandy in fact murdered (I realize there's the whole morgue scene, but it wouldn't be out of the question for an elaborate ritual). Kubrick blatantly wanted us to recognize the theatrical component to the balcony scene when Mandy as far as Bill thinks sacrifices herself for him... it would be some of the worst acting in the history of cinema otherwise, so Kubrick clearly wanted us to know this was a premeditated act for Bill. I guess perhaps it could be a premeditated ritual sacrifice, however if someone was in fact offering their life it would feel genuine given what was at stake, but that wasn't the case.
