Eyeshadows can be overwhelming! There are so many shades to choose from and it’s hard to know which shadows will best accentuate your eye color. Today I’ll show you some recommendations based on traditional color theory.

You are the FIRST person who explained brown eyes!!! I’ve been kicking myself thinking why I have brown eyes and can’t pull off warm tones. It’s because my brown eyes are warm toned and I need cooler shades to accentuate them!

What about those of us with hazel eyes? my eyes are green with brown around the pupil and purplish grey around the iris

Wow!! Lucky you! It sounds like your eyes are more warm than cool so try some cool toned shadows and see what you think. Think gray, purple, or cool tone browns.

My absolute favorite eye color to do makeup on is Hazel! Depending on which fleck or tone you want to emphasize, you have many choices. You can experiment, even try just different eyeliner colors with a neutral eyeshadow base. Urban Decay has endless eyeliner colors to choose from, as does Clinique. Whatever color you choose, do a black liner in your waterline for emphasis. Lucky you!

@@emilyw842 Thank you for the great tips! I have hazel light brown-gold eyes and I am so bad choosing the right colors. A neutral eyeshadow base with different color eyeliners sounds like a great way to experiment!

Cool combo we are jealous! You can rock whatever you want. Lgreens, browns, leaches and warm orange browns, and purples!

Yup...cool toned brown/yellow with green and grey circles. Ouff ..I usually end up with a peach or rose to bring out the green..??

Eyes that are “ blue” but sometimes look green and sometimes more blue are usually considered grey. Grey eyes have y good and brown flecks that cause the eye color to appear different depending on what your wearing or even for women the time of month. I also have grey eyes. Sometimes they look blue, sometimes green, sometimes turquoise even. If you place white clothe next to your eyes you will see their true color.

What about skin tones? I have blue/aqua eyes but a cool skin tone. The warm color eyeshadows don’t look right without a bit of a tan.

There is such a range of warm tones to consider. Think light peaches/ warm almost yellows, instead of brighter ones.

I just found your channel and this video is GREAT! Subbed! 😊I think my eyes are kind of a strange color. They're the color of a green grape around the pupil with a few gold flecks, but then I have a dark gray-green ring around the iris. My grandmother had this color and I have some cousins with the same. I'm guessing I should wear pinks and mauves??? I've always been attracted to rose-gold metallic eyeshadows. Like you, I also love mixed metal jewelry.

I love the idea of using an under eye shadow for a pop of color! But I never know how to do the eyelid to tie it all in. For instance, I have brown eyes with Amber flecks and would love to do a purple. I have no idea what to use on the eyelid so it looks cohesive.

I usually do a neutral shade on top lid and just use the purple or whatever on bottom lid. It’s so subtle it doesn’t need to be connected to the top lid. Most the time others can’t figure out what it is that’s making your eyes pop so much.

I have gray eyes that have a little tea or aqua to them. What is my best shade to enhance my eyes? I keep comming up with coral, but I'm afraid to wear it.

Yes, think orange, warm tones. You will love it. Even warm shades of mauve.

I have blue eyes, pink undertones with Rosacea. Warm browns look horrible against my skin because I have so much red. It’s a challenge.

Absolutely. Bc your eyes are already warm the cool tones in grey will really contrast them nicely.

I had to look that up. 😌 The key is to NOT highlight them. So avoid light or shimmer colors. Apply a neutral mid-tone brown in the areas to make them blend in with you skin tone as much as possible. I hope that helps.

I feel like warm tones of mauve would be beautiful for you. Seint has three shades I can think of in this category that would be a great combo for you. Let me know if you would like more information.

Yes and green eyes. Some people have to be careful with pink based on skin tones because it can come off looking like irritated skin if that makes sense. That’s why I LOVE mauves. It’s has that pinky undertone.
