David Zyla gives examples of how he finds these colours in his youtube videos! He always uses a lighter and darker skin example. I really recommend watching those parts of his videos to anyone else who’s curious. I thought I would end up with mostly browns, but that’s not the case! You kind of have to look at the colours artistically rather than exactly if that makes sense?? Thanks for summarising this theory 💕

Hi Em, how are you? 🥰 Thank you so much for sharing your experience and insights! David Zyla's approach to finding colors is indeed fascinating and eye-opening. Seeing colors artistically rather than strictly by label is such an important shift in perspective. It's all about how they play off each other and complement one another in a composition. Thanks again for highlighting this aspect of his theory and sharing your insights ❤

This is the first time I have heard of this approach. And I've very frustrated lately with trying to find the right eye shadow, lip stick and blush colors. I think the suggestions of taking pictures and for using the blue/green from my vein and specific color flecks from my eyes may help me find better cosmetics. - thanks

Hi T Floyd, Happy Wednesday 😊 I'm thrilled to hear that you found the suggestions helpful! Experimenting with different approaches can truly make a difference when it comes to finding the perfect cosmetics for you. When it comes to finding the perfect lipstick and blush shades, I highly recommend identifying your romantic color. A neat trick is to pinch the tip of your finger and compare it closely to the colors you're considering. This method can give you a great insight into what shades suit you best. If you have any questions or need further guidance along the way, feel free to reach out. Wishing you all the best on your beauty journey! 💄✨

Hello, thank you for the video. I have a question about the eye color. My eyes have many colors. One of my eyes has a huge stripe of another color. My eyes are blue-green and one eye has a large amber stripe. How do I choose? Or are all those colors ones for me?
@CiMarinho
@CiMarinho 9 дней назад
Hi Jamie, how are you? Wow, you have such beautiful eyes, congratulations! 😊 Regarding which color you should choose, have you tried taking a close-up photo of your eyes to create your palette? By zooming in, you can identify the lightest and darkest colors in your eyes. For example, if the lightest color is blue-green, choose that as one of your colors. If the darkest color is amber, use that as well. Now, to answer your question about whether all those colors are for you, I'd say yes, but you need to try them out to see what works best. For instance, my eyes are green, and I find that green blouses complement my skin well. Try wearing a blouse in a blue-greenish color and take a photo. Then, do the same with an amber-colored blouse. Compare the photos to see which color stands out more and looks better on you. This way, you can identify which colors suit you best. If I may, let me give you a tip: have you ever heard of the color wheel? You can use it to highlight your eyes by choosing complementary colors (colors opposite on the wheel). This can make your eyes pop even more! By incorporating all the colors present in your eyes, you can create a dynamic and personalized look that truly reflects your unique features. Enjoy experimenting with different shades and combinations! Hope this helps ❤! Take care.

@@CiMarinho Yes, I am familiar with the color wheel, as i studied art. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. The odd thing is that the amber color can be quite orange in the bright sun, so it is literally the opposite of the blue-green which leans more blue. The darkest color in my eyes is a navy blue, but they are small starbursts kind of ??around my pupil.

Hi Jamie, I checked my color wheel and for my surprise it has a blue-green option. The complementary color is Red-orange (depending on the shade it comes very close to amber). If you are considering more blue, you can work with split complementary, that also give you a possibly to get the red-orange color. Is just some ideas. ☺

Thank you for the helpful video. I am in the process of reading David Zyla's book and am happy to find your video. I am a bit confused on the essence color. It is supposed to be "your version of white" but it seems to be your version of skin tone. Therefore, is there really a white version such as pure white, soft white, cream or ivory? What is the name of the program you are using for creating your palette?
@CiMarinho
@CiMarinho Месяц назад
Hi Heidi 🥰 I hope you are doing well. Absolutely, I'd be happy to help clarify! Essence color can indeed be a bit confusing at first. While it's often described as "your version of white," it's more about finding the color that harmonizes best with your natural undertones and complements your overall coloring. Essence color isn't necessarily a specific shade of white like pure white or cream. Instead, it's about finding a color that acts as a background for your personal palette. For some people, this might indeed be a pure white, while for others, it could be a soft white, cream, ivory, or even a very pale pastel. When it comes to the program, Microsoft Paint was the one that I mentioned in the video. However, if you prefer, you can also design your palette on Canva's free version. I tested it myself, and it worked perfectly. ☺ Here is the Link in case you need: www.canva.com Thank you for your comment! I'm glad you found the video helpful ❤

The last color (tranquil) is the lightest..? But why you filled in at the end ‚black‘
@CiMarinho
@CiMarinho Месяц назад
Hi Caroline, I hope you are having an amazing Saturday 😊 You're absolutely correct. In my video at the 5:40 mark, you'll notice that I mistakenly applied the lightest color to Energy Color and the darkest color to Tranquil Color. I mixed things up! I apologize for any confusion my error may have caused you, and thank you sincerely for bringing it to my attention. Just to clarify: Energy Color: can be found within the darkest part of your iris Tranquil Color: can be found within the lightest part of your iris. Thank you once again for your understanding ❤

@@CiMarinho thanks to take your time for answering my question. I will try this soon. Because this cold warm thing is confusing. I have muddy hazeleyes… olive skin … not easy.

Hi Caroline, It's a pleasure to assist =) I completely understand where you're coming from. Having olive skin can indeed make finding the right color palette a bit challenging (Just like you, I have olive skin). That's why I find this theory so helpful-it simplifies things for us. Regarding your muddy hazel eyes (which are absolutely beautiful, by the way), one great starting point is to wear colors that complement hazel eyes. As David Zyla explains, embracing our own colors can really enhance our look. I hope this insight proves helpful to you as well. Wishing you all the best in discovering the perfect colors for your beautiful self! 😊
