Eyewitness News legends: Grimsby and Beutel 

I grew up watching them and the 7 eyewitness team. They were the best... hands down.

Back in the day when local news was actually important. I miss those days

Bill and Roger......Roger and Bill , it doesn't matter who's first. They were both at the top of their league compaired to the crap that's on today. Today's news teams and channels are only worried about commercials and their coffee cup sitting in front of them. Good post and thank you for your time and effort for posting.

Thank you for this. First time seeing this tribute it was great kudos to that team and everyone behind it. Real News without the Hollywood fluff.

I happened upon this and it's great. Lots of childhood memories and a fun reel of "memories" with those two. News has definitely changed but don't blame the newscasters. It's what drives ratings, and news now needs to get ratings. The 5:00 and 11:00 news is still the same though. Those two really bring back the memories though along with the dark set that was the 70s.

My family used to watch them (along with say Pat Harper and Steve Bush on WPIX and later Chuck Scarborough and Sue Simmons on NBC Channel 4)all the time. Unlike most of today's anchor's Beutel and Grimsby was great story tellers without the fluff of mostly sensationalism news in 2018. In sense, Bill and Roger was the main team that of news headliners especially the huge ups and downs. NYC had in the 1970's and early '80's. i.e the city's near bankruptcy, the 1977 "Blackout" and the Yankees Championship teams of 1977 and '78. And Jdez is correct they were legendary TV News Professionals.
