They aren’t as dangerous to human life as people think. People believe that the lava will catch up and kill them but it is so slow that a disabled person carrying a person can go quicker. The only thing that would kill you is the ash cloud.

This is some of the best quality footage of anything I’ve seen filmed in 2010 on RU-vid. Also, hasn’t there been a lot of seismic activity in the Reykjanes peninsula lately? Makes you wonder if one of Iceland’s long dormant volcanoes is about to wake up 🤔

@@andii2878 Yeah, and it’s freaking Fagradalsfjall, a volcano that hasn’t erupted in over 10,000 years and was thought to be extinct! I’m not a geologist myself, but I’ve been paying attention to activity on the peninsula ever since the eruption warnings came out a few weeks ago. All the warnings I’ve seen were directed to Krísuvík despite the earthquake swarms being detected under Fagradalsfjall. This eruption appears to be small from the reports being given, but it’s still a historic one nonetheless due to a supposedly extinct volcano coming back to life again after 10,000+ years! It’s been a pretty crazy month for volcanos with Etna putting on a show every other day and now this.

if ppl didnt know - currently there has been an evacuation of Grindavik in Iceland. They fear a major eruption of one of the many active Vulcans, most likely one called Fagradalsfjall, there have been 24 000 earthquakes recorded already recently. So this video here is bang up to date and could reflect whats maybe going to happen again within the next days.

Yes - awesome not as in modern parlance but rather in the old sense of awe-full (which now just means ‘really bad’) causing or inspiring awe. Also, terrifying in an abstract sense of the knowledge of sheer destructive power and what it can do. Surely, some people facing an immanent lava flow would feel that!
