One of the beautiful secrets of this song is that the words tell of the longing of the composer for a woman he loves that went away and because he can't forget her she makes his heart turn like a windmill and the memories of her come always back like the forever repeating seasons of the year. As a musician you really can analyse the chords that he uses and they seem to have similarity with a windmill, they're are structured in a similar way and repeat themselves after each verse. This adds much to the beauty of the song that the structure of it really seems to be like a windmill. The words of the song both in the original french version and also in the english version is very poetic and very beautiful. I like the english version of the song most from singer noel harrison.

Steibelt challenged Beethoven to a piano competition and lost hands down. Steibelt was a show-off who did the most of the newly discovered ability of the piano tremolo effects. Since that date, more than two hundred years ago, overdoing it on the tremolo (or the arpeggios, diminished chords and scales) don't impress much, especially when addressing a global musically educated audience.

Mr. Katzenelenbogen is a great pianist, but I like his other presentations better. This one is a little too bombastic. Many notes do not automatically mean much music.

Absolutely horrible. boring with those overload of tremolos, disgraceful phrasing. poor sloppy technique. This is just posing. and has very little to do with musicality.
