Live performance from Orange, France 2012 Vocal: Sinne Eeg Piano: Jacob Christoffersen Drums: Morten Lund Bass: Morten Ramsbøl Music: Michel Legrand Lyrics: Marilyn and Alan Bergman
To those who gave a thumbs down, if you don't get this, if you don't understand how absolutely beautiful her singing is and how sensitive that piano playing is, I feel for you. When something brings tears to my eyes, I can only be glad.
My guess is that those who didn’t like this version is because they are familiar with and like a different version. My favourite was done by Sandler & Young.
The pianist! That bassist! Even the understated drummer... It's a great team supporting her and letting her voice soar in the most beautiful ambience...
This voice is the perfect jazz female voice. There is a huskiness in the low notes, airiness when needed, perfect dynamics. To make it even harder the chord progressions make this song extremely challenging. From one to ten, this gets a 12. (you cannot see me, but at the end I stood and clapped.)
This may be the best presentation of this song I have ever heard. This voice is perfect, jazzy, emotional, sneaking into the listener’s soul . . . I need more of this voice!
I know what you mean. Last night I was catching up on Brexit and the American election fiasco when, I suppose, I clicked on some suggestion or other and found myself in Spain watching Andrea Motis. From there to Paris where I discovered the Avalon Jazz Band with Titania Eva-Marie. Two originals, also whom i"ve never before heard of before but who blew me away.
@@NYCBG Glad you did,,,,,allow me to add more by saying that when listening carefully to the extended tremolos in her voice like at 1:19 « Apple » ,, doesn’t this remind us of Judy G style ? My humble decades of self training by ear on my piano tend to detect subtilité of the vocal cord harmonies ,, Hope one day she’ll come and visit my province of Québec,, !
That pianist is amazing. This performance is amazing. The singer is so amazing with this song. The bass player and drummer are amazing. Just enough jazziness in the performance! I feel so relaxed with the performance! Thank you!
❤ its a pleasure seeing you and hearing such beautiful music, this opens our generation's heart's, for todays music is nor enjoyable,at all, am 70 years young my mom is 85, and her friends say the same.. THANK YOU SO MUCH ❤
Very hard to find a better rendition of this song. Her vocal control is transcendent. The interpretation is perfectly calibrated as her capacity to highlight every single word of this difficult song. I don't know how many singers, nowadays, are at her artistic level. Listen to her whole repertoire. A superb artist.
Yesterday, this Sinne Eeg suddenly popped up in my RU-vid. Never heard of her. Started the video... the moment she started singing shivers went all over my body... gorgeous. And then I did a google search on her... third hit was a link to a venue in Rotterdam where she will be performing, within a few months! I thinks it is no surprise I immediately bought me a ticket, World class in Rotterdam. Hell yeah!
I have heard many different versions of "The Windmills Of Your Mind" but this one is in a separate elite category. Absolutely sublime performance by Sinne & her trio......Kudos & bravo!!!!!!!
Round, like a circle in a spiral, like a wheel within a wheel, Never ending or beginning on an ever-spinning reel, Like a snowball down a mountain or a carnival balloon, Like a carousel that's turning, running rings around the moon, Like a clock whose hands are sweeping past the minutes of its face, And the world is like an apple whirling silently in space, Like the circles that you find in the windmills of your mind Like a tunnel that you follow to a tunnel of its own, Down a hollow to a cavern where the sun has never shone, Like a door that keeps revolving in a half-forgotten dream, Or the ripples from a pebble someone tosses in a stream, Like a clock whose hands are sweeping past the minutes of its face, And the world is like an apple whirling silently in space Like the circles that you find in the windmills of your mind Keys that jingle in your pocket, words that jangle in your head, Why did summer go so quickly? Was it something that you said? Lovers walk along a shore and leave their footprints in the sand, Is the sound of distant drumming just the fingers of your hand? Pictures hanging in a hallway and the fragment of a song, Half-remembered names of faces but to whom do they belong? When you knew that it was over you were suddenly aware, That the autumn leaves were turning to the colour of her hair, Like a circle in a spiral, like a wheel within a wheel, Never ending or beginning, on an ever-spinning reel, As the images unwind ( feel) like the circles that you find, In the windmills of your mind.
A thousand times Gracias! I can see in my minds eye the scene in the film: Faye Dunaway and Steve McQueen, the chessboard and the increasing desire for each other. Just so powerful! (The Thomas Crown Affair). The husky voice here, the slow tempo and the poetry in the lyrics make this a memorable experience for me. I must watch that film once more 😘
God blessed this young lady. So deep heart felt beautiful lyrics that must equal beautiful velvet voice as she has. She pierced my heart with her voice and emotionally moving “Wind Mills of Your Mind” 😪 The musicians are absolutely part of this beautiful piece. For without one of the three. The impact is lost. She made my day, week, month.......😢. Touched in every corner of my being. Sinne Eeg is a Danish jazz vocalist and composer. Jeanine, I understand you. But this song makes you (4) 14 years old young ladies, and makes me (5) 14 years old young boys: I am 70 this month. Your insights are beautiful.... Remain young
I'm here because I just watched Thomas Crown Affair with Pierce and Rene. I couldn't get enough of this song. George Robert, Sting satisfied me. Almost swiped past this. She can blow. Wow.
@user-fu7gr8rz8y Hahaha Yes. I have. Loved McQueen and Faye. But, they can't hold a match to the chemistry between Pierce and Rene. Then, the sexy music takes it to a whole different level.
The precision of the intonation of Sinne’s voice and the artistic improvisation of Jacob’s piano are two finely calibrated parts of an absolutely masterpiece work, regardless of the place and setting of the performance. And Morten's bass ties them together and gives the moment real confidence. The real magic of vocal art.
Sorry to say this is the first time I've heard of this singer Love the song but never heard it sung with such clarity The piano and base were fabulous Cool chic and mind absorbing to stay in your mind and heart for ever
Beautiful version, but Dusty Springfield's version is also sung with great clarity and emotion: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qKV9bK-CBXo.html
By slowing the tempo down, this song takes on the poetry of its words into a magical, mystery tour of floating piano keys and heart beating base. Voice of silk Sinne. Heaven.
Drivel is kind. I often think "trash", instead... The lyrics are so unimaginative! (Some artists are trying to change that, though... But class is still elusive.)
Sinne has a delicious voice. Her pianist is very inventive, result: great performance. Result of great performance: happy campers! Result of happy campers: continued demand for Sinne's great singing - and so it goes on, which is just fine by me...
Thank you Gerrie !! for my sting, has made a very elegant and exquisite version of this song, but the interpretation of Sinne Eeg adds a certain spirit of the blues that I like more.
So amazing. I never thought I would find another beautiful version of this song as Dusty Springfield's. What a perfect pitched voice, such a beautiful instrument.
Sinne Eeg. I was producer of Jazz Bands in France, this version is probably one of the best !! Your voice is incredibly touching and you sing as an angel. if you come by Los Angeles I will come to see you !!!!
I listened this song 1000 times. But why I am crying each time listening this performance? The answer is siple. There are four souls. Poetry, music, her voice, and (last but not least) the pianist. Bravo!
OMG she is so amazingly good -- the perfect vocals and extraordinary range and control for this classic but timeless piece; band is amazing too -- exceptional.

Je ne connaissais pas du tout cette interprète. Magnifique découverte ! Superbe interprétation d'une chanson de l'immense Michel Legrand ! Une belle rencontre !
How right you are. The ability to get the phrasing just right is a gift unto itself. Not only did she get that right, she expressed all the feeling behind it. This is actually a very challenging song. Wonderful performance.
I was 17 when this song came out. I liked it.just liked it. And now I have a life of ups and downs behind me….I understand what’s it’s all about. Oh how can you be so innocent and naive when you are young.

Paroliers : Alan Bergman / Edmond Bacri / Marilyn Bergman / Michel Legrand
I’ve heard Sinne’s version a while ago, just decided to share my comment. Need to admit that this song is not that easy for a live performance. The performance has a hint of familiar Danish jazz singers (Ceacille’s). The piano lines are very unique to the Nordic jazz school (combined deep classic roots and jazz influences at it’s best). Thank you from a fellow musician.
It's one of my favourite songs....she sang it from her heart that's why it has a strong impact to the listener....my mind travelled as I listened to it....brava....
Absolutely the best version of this I've ever heard. Her depiction of the song and her voice is absolutely perfect! I'd like to think I could sing it this way....but, I don't think I could. Congratulations to you Siñne . You got this!!!
Holie smokes ... where has SHE been all my life??! Gorgeous face, gorgeous hair, gorgeous voice, gorgeous vibrato and dead on pitch with every many notes! And what a memory!
man! the best version ive heard yet! a song should be dissected first and foremost by its lyrics. and this is poetry at its best! second is its adaptation into music... which is breathtaking and leaves nothing more to be desired!
Written back in the 70s when they only had records and radio and the lyrics sold the song. But now you can flick from song to song in an instant. And it's all in the beat these days to sell the song. Quick catchy stuff. So the lyrics have suffered badly.
Best version possible. The singer with rare sensibility, taste and deepness. Pianist really with an outstanding touch and sense of harmony. Excellent job. BRAVI
Ahh that some 50 years old tune, that relic, these words, those notes dragging the meaning of each impulse with each gasp of air and sigh of nostalgia. Oh.. and the devious and immaculate jazzy fingers adding depth to the diva's sustained sassy beautiful voice.
Cette voix colle merveilleuse bien avec cette pépite de Michel Le Plus Grand. Superbement bien accompagnée par des musiciens de talent. Un grand Merci pour ce moment...
Her voice is sublime and what a virtuoso performance. Could NOT have been better in a studio. For all of the musicians and Ms. Eeg to pull that off so effortlessly, flawlessly and LIVE is astounding - like a rare celestial event. And remember - the lyrics are not Legrand but the great Marilyn and Alan Bergmann - also geniuses.
@@johntodd7330 Then you should listen to the original version by Michel Legrand, in French of course, and try to understand the French words, they convey much more emotion than the English version.
Her vocals and tone as well as marvellous breath control absolutely meszmerising interpretation. What a treat for all senses. After STING my 2nd most favorite version of this timeless beautiful sublime song ❤
Her voice continues echoed in my head then my heart... and finally my cheeks got wet as suddenly realized again and again, time is passing by quick... lord, let there be a start over so I could repent all my sins.... love and be loved
Today, All Soul's Day, a gift of the Heavenly Divine gave me a chance to stumble upon this living soul singing like a fulfilled angel touching too the inner core where my poor soul is struggling to come to joy. Hallelujah! Is is too profuse to describe SINNE EG with her rendition of this classic - THANK YOU YOU TUBE, you bring on the best from everything!
