My review of the EZ Hawgs wheels plus a recommendation of who may like them. Thanks again to Mark from the Dirt Farm Freeride where I won these wheels in the raffle!
I just picked these up and put them on the 9.1 Andy Anderson and they're super fun. You're dead on describing the exponential slow down at the end of a slide or revert. Great video.
Thanks for the video! I've always been somewhat curious about the EZ Hawgs, but I really never bothered to look up a review for them. I'm also not a Snakes appreciator so I don't think these are for me either lol.
bro. this is meta-coincidental ; I was in Cinci for the LandYachtz Skate&Explore event this past weekend. I won a set of these in the pink thane. they are uber-slidey on my setup and so freaking fun on my Tennessee road surfaces which are like that access road you mentioned. As a skater working to get to the next level of confidence, they definately make initiating harder standups easier. I look forward to them greatly after 15min on my home practice hill.....they feeel like they're gonna be bangers.... great review, man
Not a bad wheel but Snakes are better wheels across the board. Snakes roll faster but feel softer, absorb vibration better, wear out much slower, chip resistance equal (both prone to chip), slide smoother with smoother hook up and release, at higher speeds feel more confident grip wise. In one season hawgs weared out much more than my snakes which diminish their price advantage.
Decathlon (I don't know if they are in your countries) make great freeride wheels for 30€. The Oxelo Slide'o'meter. Awesome wheels, super durable, flat spot resistant, consistent and easy slides, and very low priced ! They are like BO Morgan Pro but better and long lasting !
Yeah those are all fair points, I'm not really a fan of either wheel I like thane lines and a bit more grip. I dont see many people riding remember wheels anymore but you are right they are also very similar
