It's summer and that's the time for a lot of outdoor activities. Unfortunately, yellow jackets can be quite a problem during outdoor events that include food. On the plus side, yellow jackets are pollinators and eat common pests like house flies, but they also enjoy getting into sweet meat and food left unattended outdoors. Yellow jackets generally nest in the ground and a nest in your yard can be a real problem when you mow the lawn. If a yellow jacket nest is disturbed, they will attack. To eliminate them, use Bonide Spider & Ground Bee Killer or Bonide Wasp & Hornet Killer. Spray the hole and quickly stuff it with newspaper or paper towels so they cannot escape.
