I remember that feeling of a regularly jarred spine, springers that bounced like a kangaroo on a pogo stick and the feeling of becoming deeply religious under heavy braking when approaching a junction ! No spare plugs, no tools no rac membership and a carefree attitude to everything. Those were the days when men were men and sheep were scared ! That’s it, I’m gonna build me a proper bike. Fantastic !
I remember back in the 1960’s in Amerika. I worked with two guys that rode Harley choppers. These guys lived and worked for riding their bikes. Seriously. I had bought a brand new new 305 Honda Scrambler. I showed up at work with it all proud. They were nice about it but told me not to park the Honda next to their bikes. 🤠
Wow, reminds me of my old days, touring with my club in the early seventies! I had a 67 Sporster with extended front end, straight pipes, and used to pack just like this. Our idea of a rain suit was a green garbage bag, with some arm holes poked in it. Great times.
In the late 60's I rode a 1967 BSA Chopper in Florida and Georgia. Now I ride a 1968 BSA Chopper and an 04 Harley Low Rider. Man, we just skipped the garbage bags, but I know what you mean. Fun times back then.
Yea / those bikes bring back fond memories of riding my 1939 Indian Scout & my first TRIUMPH CHOPPER in SF. CA IN 1971. Those were the days / take off in a moments notice / no sleeping bag / no tools / lucky if we remembered our jacket most times. Get on & go⁉️ 6 over Springer / no front brake / rigid frame. I guess that’s why I’m waiting for back surgery. Wouldn’t change a thing. WILLY CA 🦅🏍⚒☠️⚡️🌎🇺🇸🏥🦠🏥💣🔥😎
I love that!! Thats when motorcycles where real motorcycles not like the ones now days with GPS, Fuel injection pumps, Bluetooth etc and all those nonsense accessories. Wish be there, riding my 1996 yamaha virago 750

This is why you don't see panheads, knuckleheads or Flatties anymore. I grew on Long Island. We had bike night at Nathans in Long Beach. Throughout the 70s Europeans came from across the pond. Most were from Germany other countries also. These guys looked and probably were bikers. They would approach people about selling there bikes. Most of the deals were done right in Nathans Parking lot. They hit the bike shops and bought what they could. This wasn't just NY it was all over the country. That's where your our Panheads and Knuckleheads have gone to. Me 47 years and I have a 61 panhead ridget frame. I like asking people once in awhile. Do you think I can start your bike. LOL I don't walk up to people I don't know. I have never been turned down either. I also have a 1989 Soft tail. That's my on the road bike. The Soft tail stays with me. I repoed that bike in January of 1990 in Janesville Wisconsin. I flew a Thousand miles on a wimm. I was looking for an Evo. Any model will due. I find this guy crying in his soup. He co-signed a loan at a Credit Union. Its a Long story, bank manager give me repo papers. It wasn't easy and it wasn't hard. It's a Great story the whole thing. Yes I knew people in Janesville. I said so what's the deal here Mr Banker, Tom Barns. I still remember the dudes name. He says give me what's owed. That was $6,600 and that was that. I flew home to NY. My Bros in Janesville put my bike in their van. A month later I met them in Daytona. After all it was bike week. 😷
It's getting crazier in Austria and Germany. Tyrol / Austria, has closed some of the most beautiful streets for motorbikes, which are louder than 95dB in the noise of standing - from June 10th to October 31st......what a bullshit. Almost all Austrian bikers show solidarity and boycott the entire Tyrol....and many German bikers join.✌ ..It's getting worse ...in Germany, the government is trying to ban all motorcycles on weekends....even more bullshit....born free...??? There are many demonstrations in the cities.💪 As if we didn't have enough problems with corona. I'm homesick for the states of the "Four Corners" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ktYZJX91bxw.html “Our society is run by crazy people, for crazy goals.
