The fact that the F14 could survive that long with the J7E with full load and armament is kinda broken, it can hang with planes that specialize in their own air combat field e.g.amament, speed, manuverability. The F14 B and D will probably be insane give they had much more powerful engines.
What sucks the most is that the A model had the chances to compressor stall so having its major weakness taken out of the game with very powerful radar and the swept wing just gives it a already heightened power over its real life counter part. Now if Gaijin actually like implemented a chance to compressor stall at certain neg g's or however it would actually bring challenge to the aircraft. But it's just dominating everywhere
@@tooniemusk1869 yes, to a certain point the fuel consumption and weaker wings have balanced it a little bit, but the compressor stalls would probably need to be added to balance to for current game standards, they could implement the compressor stalls similar to how the float carburetors work on spitfire except the stall will occur if you pull a certain amount of g's.
@@tooniemusk1869 MiG-23 turns way better RELATIVE to the Tomcat in game than it does in real life. The phoenixes in game are much worse than the AIM-54As in real life, and the first tomcats had AIM-9Ls. Not saying the tomcat is underpowered and I agree it is overpowered but war thunder isn’t making it better than it was in real life. Many other planes such as MiG-21 and He 177 had unreliable engines, but they act just fine.

Great Breakdown. Idk if this would have changed the outcome for the F-14 but if he would have extended away. You probably would have caught him regardless but if he would have extended and burnt off fuel. May have made it a harder fight but still difficult to begin with. Probably would have the same outcome with the J-7E on top of that fight. Great fight just doing some speculations.

A lot of F-14 players also don't seem to have any of the wing sweep keybinds actually binded or simply don't use them. The wings weren't even fully swept forward, you lose a lot of turning performance at low speeds because of that (you can just see that his inner-flap is pulled back up because of the sweep, that's extra lost lift). If he maybe had his wings fully swept forwards, he might've been able to outrate you and not have to resort to going down, but not too sure. "where is my turnrate tf" lmao
Exactly, the moment I'm in the match I set my semi sweep to 0%, and then back to auto. The moment I get in a dogfight I press my key and the wings sweep to 0%
@@semiedgv same, it makes dogfights against other F-14s so much easier than it needs to be (which is a good thing, but also sometimes less fun). BTW: you can set the sweep percentage whilst being in auto mode (it will just not show you at what percentage you are), it saves pressing 2 buttons at the start of the match.
i'm considering it. Just gotta get the footage. Also considering doing a "learning duels" type series but I have to find people willing to duel a lot lol.

Good breakdown. A few notes. For one, there's one moment in the middle where you mention you have one missile left, where you actually have two at the time. Second, I believe that you absolutely could have taken and hit the shot in the first opportunity you had. The only reason that I'm not 100% on this is that I also didn't notice your ammo. If going for the lower aspect shot had been a conscious choice, I'd be behind it, but as you mentioned you didn't realize, and if you didn't realize, then you should have shot on that first opportunity after the rate. All just my opinion. Also, in the moment right after the rate where you were concerned about overshooting, I think you overcorrected a bit and ended up pulling farther away from him than you may have needed to. The J-7E is insane in these types of situations, and on 5 minutes of fuel it's even more pronounced. Being more aggressive after you didn't take the high aspect shot may have netted you a low aspect shot sooner than you got one. Anyway ultimately I just had some notes, great breakdown overall.
The fact that you seem to forget that this is a video game that barely resembles the real life aircrafts. F14 will still destroy J7s in a real life dogfight simply because of how much ahead the f14 was in terms of technology and simply performance it self.

Pakistanis notoriously good at lying plus they lost the war against India who uses even more primitive jets like Mig 21s. If j7 srsly won against an f14 then it’s likely the fact that the f16 pilot is shit on its own. Ppl like you guys only brags about how amazing Russian jets are even though they’re not and when a second gen communist fighter can beat up a American 4th gen you call it facts no matter where it is from and when a 4th gen American jet beats up an 5th gen Russian jet you call it fiction
Day 6 of asking to play the yak4 at 2.0 Start by a dive directly at q base that has another base clise to it ( 2 bases beside each other) 4 bombs for each Go straight to your base killing some ai on the way with your 7.62 Some planes will come on your back going in a straigh line with minimal evading is recommended and try to hit their engines with ur turret since they have weak engines a damaged one will lead them to crash i return to the airfield with 2 bases with 4 to 5 ai kills and 1 or 2 planes after taking off i go for bases if left but if not i will focus on ground targets cuz aa is the bain of this plane so bombing airfields is not recommended Bonus:do not forget to have smoke always on to piss the enemies 🤣
honestly? you played it really well, i cannot think about taking this fight better than this, i would play it like you do in this situation propably. the only mistake you did what i catched is: you mentioned that you have 1 missle on the rail when in reality you had 2.
Bro dude didn't even have his wings completely extended, Why can't I ever find an F14 fight where both pilots are actually at an equal competent skill level. Not just one sided.🤦♂
