@@firestar7890 It would make sense for them to be at a lower br due to the flight performance of the British phantoms, and the fact that they have Aim 7E2s, not the Aim 7F. I fail to see how exactly is the British phantoms even considered equal to other PD planes like the Viggen D, Mig 23 ML(A or D), U.S. F4J, F4S, Mirage f1C, Tornado F3 and ADV, and Kfir C7 that are at the same or 11.7 br. Each one is much better than the British phantom in both flight performance and weaponry. The only way for the British phantoms to remain at 12.0br would be if it got Aim 9Ls. In its current state it is practically an 11.3br aircraft at the minimum.
The aim9d has got to be one of the best missiles at the br, and its on a strong airframe after the wingrip changes. Definite overlook on gaijoobles part.
Personally i think they missed bringing this up because the F8E at 10.3 previously was just better with the wing ripping not being as big an issue and it having Aim-9C's. Give it time and this should go up too
The D draken is also in a good spot staying at 10.3 while the primium XS is now 11.3. Yeah 2 less missles and no flairs, but you still got the nutty flight performance and since everything popular around it moved up it’s basically been moved down. (Oh and Grippy A is gaming at 13.0 being able to face 12.0 premium wall)
@@MrBosszillaGaming You could be in a Mirage IIIC which seems similar but mostly worse in every way. I might like magic 1s better than 9Ds. Especially since they buffed the magic range whenever that was.
Love this plane. It was my main grinder to get to top tier. Almost never ripped my wings in it, and got plenty of kills in up tiers to 11.0 (before the update). Flying up to 5000m and picking off players far below with AIM-9Ds will never get old.
Gaijin should put more separation between: missiles or not, flares and no flares, radar missiles and not. If they mix different eras, it's a mess. There are subsonics jets without missiles and CM that fight at 10.0

To be fair, I'm sure IRL the US had some kind of policy in place for a while that limited the level of technology they sold to other NATO nations, so I could believe they only sold France, Belgium, etc. AIM-9B at first. The Soviets did the exact same with export models of their aircraft.
Also having the F-8E in game, it makes 0 sense to have this thing with flares or AIM-9Ds... It would perfectly make sense at 10.0 like that, but Gaijin will never remove anything in order to balance things.
The Super Etendard is still 10.0 I think. It has really good flight performance for an attacker, two Magic 1, DEFA, 180 countermeasures and no afterburner allows it to bring about 10 minutes of fuel.
similar case is the m3c, r530 is actually great at 10.0 with real standoff capability compared to contemporary fox1s, and the only jet that really poses a threat to it is the crusader itself
It’s funny to me that all these changes happen as I got to the F8U-2 and it becomes one of the best and funnest planes. Sadly I’m on vacation and only have access to war thunder mobile and my premium account expires later this week
I was doing some testing with the wings with diff fuel amounts and you can get to 15gs before you snap your wings now so pretty much will never happen in a normal match as you'd have to be rolling and pulling like crazy for it to happen with a very low fuel load
After versing this thing all the time in my MIG-21 i had to have a look for myself, on paper it looks insane and yep it's OP at 10.0 tbh. I'm not a great air player but i have over a 3.0K/D in this thing, maybe it's just the event bringing out scrubs who knows
crazy how the f-16a (BE) is 13.3 with no SARH or ARH missiles (higher BR than the F-15a/j/baz) also JH-7 gets the optimal A-A loadout stock making the other air to air missile modifications useles
Been passively grinding the F8U but now after the decal release and the br changes I'm gonna chug it out tonight. Lets ball. (I just saw a person with only 4 days and the first 20 vehicles were premiums wtf)
The fact that the mig 15 or yak30 faces this constantly baffles me. No flares, an engine and climb rate so bad you have to take minimum fuel to even keep up with a realistic top speed of 700kmh and a turn rate that doesn’t matter because all you face is boom and zoom. Abismal balancing, they literally remove the wing rip issue (idk why??? to my knowldege it's real) and kept it at 10.0, when it has better performance than the F8E just no radar missiles
I hated playing the f-8s because the slightest sustained turn (barely turning) ripped wings. I’m just sad that my beloved f-16aj went up to 13.0, it should have stayed at 12.0 because it only has aim-7f and aim-9l going against bvr😢for balancing reasons, gaijin should at least give aim-9m to be competitive
Try the J35XS, its 11.3 now... Yes the same fucking BR as the Viggen and in the same Br bracket with the F-14, late F-4s and late Mig 23s.... And you dont even have an RWR
to me it doesn’t make sense why the C viggen didn’t go up to 11.7. Its funny how both the kfir canard and j35xs went to 11.3 but the f-5e gets to be at 11.0
Feels like these br changes were incredibly rushed. I dont understand how this thing is almost an entire br spread lower than the F4C. Feels like a big panic move by gaijin.
I am not a good pilot.. My progression stopped at the F8U -2 because to me it's really hard to make it work... I didn't play it for half a year or so.. so maybe I should revisit it.. this thing killed all the fun for me... With its stoooopid wings... they fixed them hm? .. I will give it a try.
yes they fixed them the stock grind its just horrible, 2 aim9bs, 4 aim9bs, get almost all of the mods tiers, aim9ds and its when the fun begins to make and use of the aim9ds you try to go to the sides, maybe to go to your base and wait the rush bombers to appear, use missiles and rearm if not, wait for everyone to go down and select objectives, flareless and careless aircraft

dude even before the change all u had to do was neg g every 3 seconds above 900 km/h this plane was so good before the patch people just did not wanna learn it
i have no idea why this jet didnt go up.... with the new wing rip its insanely busted bc the only reason it was 10.0 to begin with IS the wing rip so with that being fixed its the best plane in the lobby 90% of the time and not only that but you get SO many downteirs
I just bought 150 ge for double price but Im now a proud owner of THE decal and it worth buying ge for double price trust me😂(the decal is cool asf and it’ll be on all of my planes)
After a bit of testing i found out that the F8U rips its wings at 20G. (In Test Drive and dont ask how the hell i managed it. I think I did W + D + E. (E for Yaw Right)).
