Was an A-1'st in the Eglin fire dept from '61-'65. Lots of memories from working at SAC to seeing JFK in an open convertible on the way to Range 52 for the annual Fire Power Demonstration as well as the build up just before we were scheduled to go to South Florida for a pending Cuba invasion. Lots of things went on there in those days.....
I was stationed there from '89-'93.We had no shade and was one of the last F-4 Phantom crew chiefs on the base because there were 20 F-4's when I got there and 3 1/2 yrs. later only 2 were left.30yrs. from '62-'92,end of an era.
