I have been camping my whole life and love backpacking but now that I have a growing family I can see the appeal to this whole overlanding thing. I'm trying to get my family out there more. If you ever want to get a small group together and go somewhere in the north georgia or south/north Carolina or really anywhere in the southeast just let me know!
Was literally just at garden of the gods on a tour and seen your truck there. I've got a 2015 f150 that looks just like yours and it is exactly what I was wanting to do to mine. Got a few pictures of it. Love the build!
Great setup bro, very similar to my own. I love seeing other people make the same choices, it may be confirmation bias, but I think my rig is very well thought out. Obviously f-150's aren't ideal rock-crawlers, but I love the truck so I don't care. Jeeps are just too small for me. Can't say enough good about the decked system, it rocks. Again, great build.
I appreciate it, I love my truck. I agree, a jeep would be a great second or third vehicle. Just too small for our family of 5. The truck is a great platform that meets for our needs. The Decked system is so helpful. I haven’t got it completely dialed in yet but it is close. Thanks for watching!
Nice set up! We have a similar truck 2020 f150 fx4 that we built it up for off roading fun. I thought about a roof top tent for it but we use the bed so much it would of turned into a pain to have. One day it's going to happen. It is interesting not to see more f150 on the trail, they are an amazing truck on dirt even for its size. 👍😁
Thank you for watching and subscribing, if you have any questions about building out your F150 feel free to message me. The F150 is a great platform, very underrated. I love pulling out the jeeps lol
Right? Why are they so bright? It is a great tent though we are loving it. The down mattress topper is helping but we’re looking for something else possibly an egg crate or something like that. Thanks for watching my friend.
Decked system is an awesome idea for someone who is doing full time camping or someone working. Not ideal at all it it's your daily driver. Awesome setup though.
It is definitely not for everyone. This is my daily driver. With the bed rack I don’t use it the same way many others do. I see where you are coming from though. Thanks for watching!
Thank you my friend! It is a work in progress but it is getting there. Our set up is a lot more than we anticipated when we started. But with a family of five it makes life so much easier
I have a similar setup, F-150 with decked system. i’ve been wrestling with moving my fridge out of the backseat and installing a slide system because i don’t want to drill into the decked. what was your solution and what about animals raiding your fridge?
I ended up drilling into the decked system. It has worked great. No leaks. The fridge that I have does have an electronic lock and the latches lock it down. We have not had any issues with animals in the refrigerator. The only place I’ve had animals is actually in the drawer system. We often times take home a mouse. Funny thing is they don’t eat the food we have in there they only eat mess with the paper towels to make a nest.
That should work great, mine was leveled for a while before I lifted it. If you’re going to put a rooftop tent and stuff in the back I would recommend adding the airbags. Otherwise the front will be substantially higher than the back. My buddy has the fox 2.0s and you should be very happy with them.
Do you leave the tent on the rack all the time? Looking to purchase one and in your other videos it doesn’t look like a hard cover is on it so I’m unsure of the durability
Yep! It’s on at all times. It has a zip on rubber cover that is always on. Very durable, no rips, no leaks. The hard top tents are a much faster and easier set up and take down but have a much bigger price tag.
Awesome build. I hope to do a lot of these things to my 2015 f150. Also, you remind me of the guy from the Dr. Squatch soap commercials. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cjEK7qQKRDY.html
