the Brand new 2023 and 2024 Ford F-150 Powerboost twin turbo V6 is by far blowing my mind. 430 horsepower and 570 lbs torque....but 23 plus miles per gallon. I just took a 300 plus mile trip in Captain the F-150 on the channel, and man it was comfortable, did great in the snow and the fuel economy....well, it doesn't dissappoint. this truck is better than the baby duramax in the silverado, better than the Hurricane and better than the Hemi. Perfect blend of power, comfort and gas sipping. why wouldn't someone want one of these. I'll go over all the numbers from brand new to current and I think that if you are in the market for a new half ton, this is the truck to buy.

I got the 302a high XLT package with the tow package and black sport 4x4. That's the best bang for your buck. It's the exact same as the Lariat except it doesn't have leather seats or cooled seats but it still has heated seats and everything else the Lariat has

I run 87 in my 2023 PB and I'm getting about the same MPG you are getting, I use top-tier fuel normally Shell or Costco. This truck has so much more going for it than just being a hybrid, the 7.2Kw generator is worth the extra cost.

Love my 22 power boost coming from a 2015 tundra. I was on the fence with the new tundra or this lariat. So happy with my decision cold Northeast winters effect MPG‘s, but can’t wait for the summer where this thing will really shine. I know what you’re saying about the gym I don’t even want to get out of the truck with the heated seats. 😃Great review.

@@automotiveinquiries9673 I loved my tundra and was looking forward to the new model. I think Toyota really dropped the ball. The Trd pro is sweet, but overall the placement of the infotainment screen sticking out of the dash and that ugly front grill really made it a hard pass for me. overall you’re not gonna beat the ride quality in a F150. The truck is so sweet to drive.

Curious of the potential MPG difference between my current EB 3.5 and PB 3.5 at 88 mph, highway. This scenario represents my real world highway use of about 50% of my annual 16,000 miles. Thinking no real difference?

I have a king ranch, power, boost, and love it, but it definitely does not get “”great mileage“. There’s a reason they call it a power boost, the hybrid adds power, but only adds two or 3 miles to the gallon unless maybe if you drive 50 on the highway consistently. I’ve had mine 2 1/2 years love it but it’s not reliable.

2021 PB Lariat here. Have had it since Sept ‘21. Had a bad fuel pressure sensors at 2k it took them 3 weeks of diagnosing and waiting for the parts. Since Nov ‘21 I have had zero issues with the truck and I have 26k on it (it did have the driveshaft replaced for the recall though it didn’t show wearing in the wiring harness). In the summer when I don’t need to use the 4wd as often it lifetime has averaged 20.6mpg, I get about 23 around town. Winter time it’s closer to 18-19mpg. I have towed a couple thousand miles, with the 25ft camper it averages 8-12 mpg depending on grade and flat trailers with my tractor about 14mpg. Overall very happy with it and I use the Pro Power on board weekly for my tools but I have even used it to charge my electric ZT mower on the way to mow one of our Self Storage properties. It looks to me they made some decent quality of life improvements and a little bit of a mpg boost on the 2024 models. I would have absolutely loved to have the new tailgate especially when towing my Camper. I’m in for the long haul with ‘21 unless they have a complete game changing aspect on the coming years I’ll be trying to get as many miles as possible on it.

I forgot that someone had asked this awhile back and if it was you, I apologize I did't get back to you sooner. 1750 is my payload. I've added timbrens as always, but, if one was to get the max tow it would help and for 2024 all Powerboost get a bump i payload and a larger 32 to 36 gallon tank which has usually been restricted on the powerboost because of the battery pack. I have a payload package upgrade from ford on this one along with my timbrens.

All you have to do at any speed 60mph and under is go 10mph over and hit the breaks then cruise control at 10mph slower than you sped up to and it will switch to electric the rest of the mile. I can get up to 50% electric in city this way consistently. I found that the faster you speed up and accelerate to get yourself to the speeds that you can get the engine to switch to electric the most consistently will actually get you the best miles.

You still have your ram. And if you do what’s going to happen with the diesel emission scandal that Cummings got it self involved in.
@automotiveinquiries9673
@automotiveinquiries9673 6 месяцев назад
So to answer that question, no. The 2024 RAM I bought for the channel towed horribly and was leaking at 200 miles. She is gone. Which is sad because all of my RAMS up to my last 2016 were really great and a joy to drive. Not sure what Stellantis did, but it wasn't good. I did hear about the cummins issue, that will be interesting for sure, but RAM has already had an issue like that with the eco diesel, same as VW, but that's unfortunate. In all reality, Im not sure I'll ever own another diesel, just because of all the emissions issues and costs.

@user-jo4lr8it6p that's true...having ran both the zilla and the l8t this last year. Depending on the weight of the slide in, a GM 3500 or f350 7.3 gas or 6.6 gas from chevy would and should handle one with ease and no emission issues.

I have a 2020 lariat supercrew. High flow filter and performance tune. I’ve gotten 28.5 miles to the gallon. I’ve peaked at 29.5mpg in warmer weather. The GM guys are bragging about 30-31mpg, but they also have to buy def. The new powerboost tuned will easily get 35+ mpg and the power gains are going to be insane. My 2020 3.5 tune has me close to 500hp, 650tq. Ford was smart in their decision. They had some problems during direction , but they learned a lot! When you can get a 1000+hp stock coyote engine from Ford performance!! Na bye the way!! Then you will understand how far GM has fallen!

Not trying to argue or anything but the octane rating has nothing to do with your fuel economy however the ethanol content does have a lot to do with the fuel economy. I guarantee if you went out and used 87 octane non-ethanol and then put in 91 octane non ethanol you would get the same result. It's when you start putting 10 or 15 percent ethanol that you start losing your fuel economy
@deal492
@deal492 6 месяцев назад
I will disagree all day long.. 87 with ethanol =17.3 93 with ethanol =19.2 Multiple tanks!!! Over a period of 3 months. 2021 2.3 ecoboost bronco
@deetee5052
@deetee5052 6 месяцев назад
@deal492 octane is resistance to knock, it has nothing to do with actual fuel consumption.. meaning if your going 70 mph with 87 or 93 octane, it's still gonna take a certain amount of fuel to maintain speed, octane isn't going to change the amount put in the engine. Could just be coincidence with idle time/weather conditions/etc
@deal492
@deal492 6 месяцев назад
@deetee5052 id.love to prove my theory to the world. But no one will.listen... I have proved it for 5 years in all.my vehicles, now the price per mile is not a great difference, we have .80 gallon difference between 87 and 93 .. most of the time it cost more to do 93 based on per.mile... because unless you're getting 4-6 more mpg on a vehicle that gets less than 20mpg... it's not.worth the extra money.. but I can prove same gas station same vehicles will do better on 93...
@deetee5052
@deetee5052 6 месяцев назад
@deal492 keep a log, I do, everytime I fill up I put octane and ethanol content. Do an actual test and run straight 87 for 10 tanks and then do 93 for 10 tanks.. then we will see the difference.

@automotiveinquiries9673

I was comparing mainly to the half ton segment diesels, eco diesel and the duramax. You are correct half ton gassers cannot out tow any three quarter ton or bigger. Here in Colorado it's illegal to delete as many other states and will automatically void a new vehicle warranty. I love big diesel trucks and have had them all back to the late 80s, but as you mentioned you deleted and I will 100% agree that to get the most put of a modern diesel, all the EPA crap has definitely hurt it, not making it better.
