FIRST DRIVE: The F-150 is getting BIG updates including BLUE CRUISE from Ford for 2024. This truck competes directly with the Chevrolet Silverado, Nissan Titan, Ram 1500 and GMC Sierra. On the outside of this Platinum you will be greeted by 22in wheels, a new grill and front fascia. On the inside you will be welcomed by an upgraded leather interior, standard 12in infotainment screen and digital gauge cluster. I just picked up a 24 King Ranch a couple weeks ago. Absolutely love it! I think it’s a better value than the platinum as well I got every feature of this platinum for thousands less. And love the brown interior!

I have a 20 king ranch and like it a lot. Especially being long backed. Just a few zonks. They COULD add a light to the top glove box, A 12-volt plug in the bed would be nice. I do like the step. Only zonk is that I move a lot of heavy boxes, and moving them over the lip of the ateo cover causes it to pop off more than I like. After too many times, the cover becomes useless. Wish they sprayed the top of the tailgate along with the liner...maybe spray in-between the table gate and bed as well. It would be nice for them to add antiglare to the big screen? I love the massage seats tho on long trips or after I move a heavy load. Wife would like them to add a. Camera to watch the back seat when you have kids or to see your older passengers. Just my two cents.

As a GMC Sierra Z71 owner I think that GM needs to be afraid of this truck, absolutely gorgeous truck that is loaded with tech and a hybrid to boot with 24mpgs and 700mile range is crazy good on a full sized pickup! I posted recently about a Ford pickup that looked Plain Jane but this pickup in very nice inside and outside and the bed set up is top notch, some might say $85k is expensive but I think if this was a GM product it would be around $95-100k .

Did you test drive both new ones back to back? GMC Sierra drives like a luxury car, Ford F-150 drives like an appliance. Huge difference when you actually drive them.

I agree with a couple things: the horn button area needs some love, along with the correct color Ford emblem. Vented rear seats, and where is the digital rearview mirror for that price?

I went out and got the Line X aftermarket spray-in bedliner in my Platinum. Great product for less than what Ford charges you for the factory version.

I think the changes and the Blue Cruise are a nice addition for 2024. I just still like the taillights, and I'm gonna zonk the fact that I took them till MY 2024 to give us a HUD in their trucks. I like the aluminum finish, but I would go for hopefully a trim available with a blackout appearance package would be sweet.

Blue cruise is not an addition for ‘24 - it’s been available and standard on the limited since ‘21 when this version of the f150 was introduced

I have a late 2022 Platinum Powerboost, it’s an awesome truck. Almost identical to the 2024 complete with blue cruise.

The regular ecoburst has better MPG and range on the highway. The fuel tank is 6 extra gallons so if you spend most of the time on the highway and don't need the pro onboard power then it doesn't make sense to get the powerboost. Especially when you factor in that the insurance is more expensive. I got a quote for the 3.5, the 5.0 and the 3.5 powerboost and it was by far the most expensive around $170 more per year.

I feel like the Platinum is the only trim that the Ford got right on this redesign. Personally I don't care for the Platinum on the hood, but this truck is sharp.

I think the Lariat is the sweet spot in Ford's product line. I just got a 2024 Lariat Power Boost, with 7.2 K pro power on board, mobile office, tow/haul, FX4. Much cheaper than the Platinum, better payload, yet plenty nice enough for most of us.

I have the 2023 F150 Lariat Powerboost, it has 430 HP and 570 lb ft of torque. I think the 2024 Platinum Powerboost also has the same HP and torque.

hmmm, those look like the same wheels from the Tahoe and Suburban. So is the Platinum the top trim or the Limited? The aluminum is a nice touch instead of chrome. The tailgate is bland. Should have the platinum badge in aluminum to give it some pop. No bedliner, no thank you. No dual exhaust is a zonk.

Just a friendly FYI I can't believe you did not know this😮 anyway I do enjoy your videos but you cannot get the 5.0 motor in the platinum or King ranch model. You can with the lariat. I wanted a platinum model in the 5.0 so I can put the supercharger on it. The only model I can do that with now the highest level is the lariat. 2023 and older you can get the 5.0 on any model.

My truck just started doing this it’s very scary feels like the transmission drops out at 60 mph u down to 10 mph instantly I almost got smashed by a semi as my truck wouldn’t pick up speed afterwards ! This is outrageously dangerous

That’s a Platinum Plus. Why can’t these reviewers get it straight. The regular Platinum doesn’t have that interior combination, will set or grill. Also, it only comes in a power boost. The platinum you can get without a power boost.

Unfortunately for 24 model year you can not get the 5.0 in the platinum or King ranch. Highest level you can get the 5.0 is the lariat. Because those are my thoughts as well get the 5.0 Platinum then put a supercharger on it that was my intention unfortunately cannot do that for the 24 model year.

I really love the F-150 lightning, but with how fast EVs are evolving, and I think GEN 2 is supposed to be out in 2028 last I heard this is probably the truck I’ll be going with next year. Plus I’m one of those people in Texas where that pro power onboard really comes in handy.

Disappointed they did away with the "Limited" trim level, also the front camera washer, the rear tailgate applique, the lighted step plates and the multi colored ambient lighting (at a quick glance). Although, I would still rather this than the GMC Denali Ultimate I purchased last year..

I love the truck but there are two things they took away, why would they take away the big tailgate appliqué that says Platinum!? You already have the word on the hood. And why on earth doesn’t this truck have the max recline, multi-contour seats!? For the price it’s a true tragedy they don’t have the seats on the top trim.

Blue cruise has been on the F150 since it was introduced in 2021 - so 3 years. It is not a first in 2024 …. The truck has 430hp not 530

Yes it is overpriced but it's a nice truck it has a gentleman stance to it,needs pull up window shades and bed liner😮 with cover plus dual exhaust for that price

I hate those 20” tires. They make the ride rougher, they don’t add functionality and they cost allot more for no reason. Regular size truck tires would have been better.

Being a hybrid it’s a small battery and it will easily last 10 years. I think it’s currently around $5k to replace the battery pack.

Less speakers on the b@o, less led lighting all around, no more rear tailgate plaque. Fords been on a mission to cut quality and got yet raise prices. I almost built a brand new platinum in 2020 when the new model came out but honestly it’s unaffordable now. The interiors creak and rattle more than the last gen also.

The massive generator potential of the truck would make it very handy for a few people. Unfortunately this truck has terrible reliability results, because it is so full of relatively new tech. The automotive companies have pretty mediocre engineers, and when it comes to software, car companies are the worst. So bureaucratic and trailing edge when it comes to software. Tesla's great advantage is that they have better programmers. Detroit is typically too cheap to pay for good software talent.
