Hey man, really great video! My only point on it might be that you ended up launching your fisrt Mav at the ship from 1.6 miles! You could have used rockets or even gun at that range! 😂 The safest and optimal range for the AGM-65D would want to be about 7.5 to 8 miles. That gives you more time to take any evasive action and avoid SHORAD's and Shoulder launched SAMs. You can sometimes even get a lock a bit further out than 8 miles but its quite rare in the current DCS build. Really depends on the contrast level of the seeker and its ability to distinguish the target against its colder background. Keep up the great content. Subbed. 👍😀

Thank you for watching! The Viper can't quite set a SPI with the helmet just like that like the A-10CII can. In the Viper you have to either use Markpoints (which I'll cover in a future video) or use VIS mode as I've shown in this video :) When you TMS UP LONG to put the box on the HMD, and then TMS UP SHORT while looking at your target, you're essentially setting a SPI on it so all your sensors (TGP, weapons, A-G radar, etc) will "look" at that point.
@@MamboDCS After pressing TMS UP SHORT you create a SPI for all the sensors, and also for the Maverick it self (which one is selected). With TMS UP Short another symbology appears on the JHMCS (circle with a small square underneath) - which begins to slowly move so one side. My question is: Why it starts to move? Is that a bug? Why would it move, if it's ground stabilized? You can also see that movement on the Maverick's page on the MFD.
cant get my mav seeker to follow my Helmet after pressing tms up long. the box appears but no following mav seaker symbol. sometimes it appears on the spot when i am pushing tms up, sometimes 1 mile to the side even within slew limits of the seakerhead.

@@MamboDCS the mistake was by me. i designated a spi too fast with the HMCS, so the seekerhead could not follow fast enough and locked somewhere half way. thanks for your quick answer ! great Video btw.

Mavericks are only for moving targets in my opinion. Other wise they are purely more work. JDAMs are so simple and effective. Love dropin them blindly 20,000 ft in a thunderstorm...ShAq!
On the other hand I can carry more Mavericks than JDAMs. Due to the current state of TGP, I have to settle with using TGP to guide a Maverick to approximate location before using WPN to finely slew towards the intended target. JDAMs are much better to use against targets with significant cover, utilizing a straight drop to avoid catching trees like HARMs tend to do, or calculate the angle necessary to hit something under a shelter.
You're totally right, just a tiny note that not many people know, the triple MAV rack is very much a "dooms day" loadout for the Viper. That inner MAV would burn the horizontal stab when launched and damage the aircraft so the more realistic loadout would be double pylons. Just something I thought I'd mention, but it is not modeled in DCS so I ignore it when I feel like it :P
I have no idea what’s going on with my F16 but the TGP is always out of view like 90 degrees off. I been watching your video . And try doing what you say and I’m giving up on the f16 . Going back to the A10 . The TGP is way easier . The f16 should only be a fighter not a bomber . Thank you

I don't really understand what you mean by resetting. If you follow what the video shows exactly everything should work fine, check that you didn't miss any steps. If you keep running into trouble definitely contact me and I'd love helping :)
