On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

I've always loved the F-16. The wingtip mounted missiles, the under-cockpit intake, the bubble canopy, and even the lawn-dart shape are all so iconic. I was USAF Security Forces for 10 years and when I was deployed during OIF I was often posted as flightline and runway security. I got to watch these things for hours, taking off fully loaded, 2 at a time, and then coming back empty. This was mostly at night in the beginning, with the afterburner shooting a huge jet of flame and the insane roar that goes with it. A few times the pilots would put together videos of their sorties, and play them on a big screen in an assembly area. They'd talk us through what they were doing and what was going on in their heads. it was a really cool way of boosting morale, and for them to showoff a little.

Late reply but im about to get my first setup at an entry level, going with the Thrustmaster T16000M H.O.T.A.S and the Smoothtrack phone app for a head tracker. its pretty budget friendly (especially smooth track since it only costs like 7 bucks for something similar to trackIR from what I've heard

I like the one-on one merges and such (including when they are guns-only), but this more realistic situation was also really fun to watch and shows how great equipment (F-16, AMRAAM, etc) and a skilled pilot can really mop up.

I always appreciate the explanations... helps me understand what is going on, and why. Was wondering - you often mention all the different targeting and radar modes, but never really get into alot of detail about them. Was wondering if you could you take a moment in a video to explain the different types of missile tracking and radar modes? For example, RWR, TWS, TA? and when to use them?

You’ll find it’s a lot less twitchy during the take off roll if you turn the nose gear steering off. At low speeds a dab of brake is plenty, and rudder takes over by about 40 knots.

The F16 will be one of the greatest ever but we forget during its initial deployment(first 10 yrs), there were at least 23 crashes, killing over a dozen(maybe 15) pilots.

Hey love your stuff. I mainly fly the viper and recently started using the elq jammer pod instead of the centerline droptank. Is there a specific reason you dont use it in this case? Or does it come down to preference?

Could you do an edge dogfight whereby you test the range limits of Fox2 missiles? Can they hit at 10 miles? 12?

I think the ir/optical signatures size/strength & the sensors MP & or minimum pixel detection aswell as magnifying of the lens. Also most lens are curved so large fov but low zoom & resolution at range. Plus size of target/signature & aspect are big factors. I think if IRST / sniper (flir) esque or somthing to asst missle gain a its signatures from 3rd party (ac) Assuming a 9x / Fox2 can receive that data anyway.. boost time would be huge factor as well as the longer it's Airborne / more drag the more heat soak in the sensor. I'm curious now what would be a max range 9x shot at dif aspect / alt / speed &closer (relative / definitive) @ launch on low & high signature non maneuvering targets

That last kill on the hornet in the dog fight makes me want to see some dogfighting in the mountains. How does large, irregular terrain impact 2 circle fighting for example? Is it easier to reverse turn because you can make your enemy lose visual for a few seconds at a time?

F16 is great and all, but it doesn't feel like a win getting kills with it. It simply feels expected and unfulfilling. I feel flying the older underdogs, like F14 with no 120's, are far more rewarding, skill builders, and brag worthy. A twist on Kennedy - "If it's not hard, it's not worth doing."

no its a physically better radar, I think it comes down to the available room in the nose cone. ( I could be wrong I'm not an aerospace engineer but I believe its a physical shortcoming)
