F-16s 50th Anniversary! Test Pilot Recalls First Flight 

Lockheed test pilot Phil Oestricher looks back on the first ever flight of the F-16. which took off from Edwards AFB on Jan 20, 1974. His YF-16 prototype experienced trouble as soon as its wheel got wind underneath them, but he was able to recover and bring the jet back, providing valuable data for its ongoing development.
Now 50 years later, the supersonic multi role fighter is as lethal as it has ever been, with no plans on slowing down any time soon.
