We want to see Até in the RAFALE!!! Also see what he thinks about the mod, it can be good to make the RAFALE mod more accurate to the real life plane. Can you do a gun fight between Rafale and F22? Can you give both planes IR missiles of similar capabilities? Rafale doesn't have the MICA IR modeled while F22 has the 9X.

The F-22 is unmatched in this game, which seems logical since it was designed with the unique objective of achieving air supremacy. Overall, the Rafale remains one of the very best battle-hardened multirole aircrafts on the market. In addition, the MICA NG has been specifically designed to dispose of stealthy targets. The F-22 may very well remain unchallenged with this new armament (USA and France being indefectible allies, we will never know), but the Russian and Chinese stealth fighters will definitely have a nasty surprise if they get engaged against the Rafale in future operations. I remind you that almost half of the knowledge accumulated by these two nations comes from spying on the western industries.

It's important to note that stealth ain't invisiblility. The purpose of stealth is making it harder to detect, lock ,and most importantly maintaining a lock on the target. F22 is by all means detectable but due to it being harder to maintain a lock. It makes your launch have a lower probability of kill. In comparison to his launch. Giving f22 a nasty edge in bvr

Don't be silly. F-22 is an air superiority fighter, F-35 is a strike fighter. They have different tasks. Besides, F-22 is extremely expensive. F-35 was a try to make a relatively cheap 5th generation fighter, and i gotta say that even though program costs dozen times more than originally expected, cost of single F-35(A or C, B is pretty expensive) is not too much bigger than F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, so that try was pretty much successful. USA couldn't afford to build more F-22s and it's pointless, really. F-15C was more than enough in the gulf war. After the fall of USSR there was no need in such platforms as F-14, F-22 and other stuff - that's part of the reason why instead of making some other aircraft based on F-22 they decided to develop a 5th gen strike fighter and adopt Super Hornet instead of Super Tomcat. Think bigger, don't be silly - F-35 is a good strike fighter at least because it's the only 5th gen strike fighter out there - it can outperform F-15E in strike missions, that's a fact, but we can't really measure how good it is because it's the only 5th gen strike fighter out there.

@@chiken6559 lol the us couldnt afford any more f-22s but has ordered almost 2,000 f-35s ok 😂 also the reason the price per unit has gotten so low is precisely because they ordered so many. The process gets streamlined as they iron out kinks in production over time, had they ordered 2,000 f-22s the per unit cost would likely have been about the same, the f-35 while not as advanced in stealth or even close in flight performance has a lot of other tech that ups its cost.

@@seneormoneybags yes, i understand everything you wrote. Situation with navy was a little more complicated - they would either get F-35C, or they would get no 5th gen whatsoever. However they will be getting Block 3 super hornets with reduced radar cross section so maybe navy did get their twin engine "stealth" after all. But come on, you can't bring god damn B-2 everywhere - 5th gen strike fighter could be really useful. F-35 is not replacing F-22, it's different. And again, like you said, US is not expecting any aerial war to broke out soon, so why bother getting huge amount of air superiority fighters? I mean, it's not like you can get founding out of nowhere - you need to convince congress that you really need it.

There's no way the F-22 is this good. It almost looks like he's floating in space. He can just turn with perfect control at a relatively low speed. It doesn't look natural at all. Especially in the after action report. I think GS just got his feelings hurt and really wanted some revenge 😄

@@taylorc2542 it'll be similar but there will definitely be differences, i think its generally accepted that the rafale is a better multirole fighter, but typhoon is a better air superiority fighter. Though correct me if I'm wrong

@@willsabri4815 No, you’re not wrong. The Typhoon is purpose-built for air superiority but has been progressively updated and upgraded over time to include an air-to-ground capability. That said, the Rafale beats it in the air-to-ground mission, for which it was purpose-built. Only the F-22 is able to better the Typhoon in the air superiority rôle and even then it’s a lot closer than many people seem to think because stealth is often thought of as a kind of innate superiority inside the WVR envelope; it isn’t. In the BVR envelope, it’s a different story because there the Raptor is basically king (and the F-35 is its princely son), but if a Typhoon pilot can see their bogey, then the Typhoon pilot can usually kill their bogey.

Yeah but you need to know the actual strength of f22 raptors strength of stealth literally almost impossible to stay on them with there turning maneuvers better then airplanes we have seen so far with advanced missiles with our targeting systems they are scary. This doesn't show the real thing but just gives you an idea of how scary it would be for another nation to go against us. And this goes for all parts of our military obviously we aint the best in everything but we have put a lot of money into keeping our things technologically advanced to other countries

The F-22 is a great flying aircraft at any scale. I have had the pleasure of flying RC models of it, and the planform is just stellar. Seeing the Su-57 has a similar planform, though not as elegant as the F-22, it would definitely be an interesting fight. Hope to see that soon.

irl. Both Rafael and Eurofighter are quite quite up there in dogfights against the F-22, the Only problem the F-22 would maybe run in to is its thrustvectoring and therefore it bleeds energy faster than both the Eurofighter and Rafael.

On the Real Flight RC sim, The F-22 has an insane rudder authority. Don't know how real it is, but once you get used to it, you can do some really insane things in it. I love my F-15, but have to say you can probably do a lot better in a F-22.

One thing to note about the Rafael kill on the F22 is pilot skill and familiarity with the plane. We don’t know if the pilot in the F22 was new and still learning the platform. Also, the Rafael pilot might have been better. Even in an F22, there are certain mistakes a pilot can make which significantly lowers its chances of survival. Talking with USAF pilots that have viewed the footage states the Rafael pilot appeared highly skilled in his aircraft and the F22 Pilot appeared to have lost visual on the Rafael. The Rafael pilot had the better day.

The real story: The F22 shot the rafale down 6 times. The rafale shot down the F22 once. 6 to 1. The rafale had to pull 9 g's just to get one win. Very dangerous move. Could have passed out and crashed with those g's

In real-world testing on highly-maneuverable fighter TGT drones who were also employing laser pulse/strobe DIRCM from a large POD, AIM-9X still homed on the primary IR source on the fighter fuselage, even from extremely high off-boresight launches. That was more than 2 decades ago. AIM-9X Block II and III have different guidance/filters/algorithms for improved countermeasure rejection and high res TGT signature homing. Rafale is the best 4.5 Gen fighter in terms of IR signature reduction of all the Eurocanards, but nowhere near IR sig reduction on all 3 JSF and Raptor.

Something I was just thinking, does DCS model IR dynamically in terms of engine thrust changes? Or is it a fixed/binary value for front/rear/afterburner? Edit: so that grimreapers did a test on this and it doesn't look like it. The coefficients are different directionally, but in terms of throttle position, it doesn't appear that it actually impacts seeker range or reliability, which is a big bummer. Also, oddly, radar lock impacts IR lock distance.

Jamming / Radar scrambling Our Russian friends rely heavily on Comm and Radar systems. We don't. The Raptor enters the theater of Operations, like a Fox in the hen house. The Raptor detects enemy aircraft, and when they actively search for the Raptor It "blinds" them! Then the Raptor is able to fly in and around the battlefield unseen. The Raptor can not be detected. Imagine trying to shoot something you can not see. 🤔 It's really cute (and absolutely clueless) on how you think the other aircraft will have a chance. They all think they have a chance too-- and that is exactly what we want them to think. But when the shooting starts.... It is game over Clubbing Baby seals 😎 Then we own the complete airspace over the Battlefield. Absolute Air Dominance. I could tell you more, but then a couple of Gentlemen from the NSA are going to end up paying me a visit. Nobody reads these comments right?? 😇

@@Internetbutthurt “can see stealth”. Not really. It’s early warning radar can pick up stealth aircraft, but that’s not at all able to determine the location of the aircraft. It just lets you know there’s something in that general direction. Neither the acquisition radar nor the fire control radar of the S-400 is capable against stealth aircraft. Integrating al the SAM sites in a general area can help, but only against an attempt at penetrating the AD system. It’s much less helpful against stealth aircraft picking off the SAM sights that are closer to the front. AD systems will stop stealth aircraft from reaching critical targets for a few weeks until the system has been completely unraveled. The SU-57 simply isn’t as good of an aircraft as the F-22.

@@peregrinefalcon9513 that’s simply false lmao. It operates at the same frequencies as typical fighter borne radars. It just has the multiple advantages that comes with AESA radar. Things like a narrower radar beam, significantly increased resistance to jamming, and being harder for RWRs to detect. The US has been using airborne AESA radars since the 90s, and is already on their third generation of AESA radars. The US absolutely has better fighter borne radar capability, so it will see the SU-57 long before the SU-57 sees it. Especially considering the piss poor stealth characteristics of the SU-57.

It's interesting because what apparently makes the 9X so good is because it tracks off the heat signature of aircraft skin, not just the tailpipes. So technically, head-on aspect shouldn't cause too much of an issue in real life

the video is wrong because the rafale's settings are not even close to the reality, it doesn't represent what the rafale can do. the other point is that in this video the rafale is almost sleeping and shooting randomly if you compare with the last video, there is something rigged, he doesn't even try to shoot the F22 seriously he just fly arroud which is ridiculous since the rafale is way more maneuverable at low speed than a F22 (due to the weight difference and other things) ATE a former french rafale pilot on youtube explains how the behavior of the rafale in the game is far from reality, because the settings are not been done properly.

The SU-57 turn rate and vectoring is spot on, the only thing im suspicious of is the climb rate, but perhaps they modelled the Izdeliye 30 engines proposed/theoretical numbers, which would give the 57 an unprecedented 1.4 power to weight ratio. In which case that incredible Vertical zoom capability is also not probably as far off as it seems. Afterall, go watch the MAKS airshow footage of the SU-57 and Su35s .. See how many times you watch it and say "thats not possible" , especially if its the first time viewing it ;)

Well the YF-23 would certainly be a worthy opponent. An interesting fact: the YF-23 was actually stealthier than the F-22, and had a better weapon system. The main reasons the F-22 was selected was its superior agility and its supercruise ability.

@@beatboxbuggi6884 yeh, I had read some of that too. YF22 had an advantage with AoA as well as thrust vectoring. With supercruise, both had it (iirc, YF23 actually had a slightly higher SC). Part of me also wonders how much politics played into it, as NG might not have been as welcome after the crazy cost overruns with the B2.

@@earthexplorer579 Apparently there's not much difference between 2D and 3D vectoring? In a straight gun dogfight the Su57 might have the edge but when it comes to a Fox 2 fight with helmet mounted off-bore targeting and the F22's low infrared signature, the F22 should win at least 2 out of every 3 engagements. Same for Fox 3 BVR engagements: the F22 will see the Su57 first (it has much better stealth than the Su57)and shoot first while remaining untracked/unlocked. Of course good pilot training also plays a role.

It sounds better, and I mean yeah sure it technically is more, but with the directions and the functions of the F-22's nozzles, it makes very little difference. After tallying in the other flight control differences in each design, the T-50's 3D is almost just for show. A very capable aircraft for sure, but still not designed, built, and flown just outright better than the Raptor.

@@earthexplorer579 3D vectoring sounds nice but where in ACM does that matter? If you think about basic fighter maneuvering, 99.99% of the time you’re pulling back or forward on stick. The added Yaw axis control with is negligible when the combatants are with afterburner. Minimum radius is all that matters... and even then if you’re a pilot and you find yourself doing a U turn in your thrust vectoring super ship, you’re a low energy sitting duck... essentially you’ve given up momentum and have to be at the mercy of your power unit getting you back up to speed.

DCS should make some reservations about how much dysregulated MODS can be. F-22 has been made pretty much OP in this scenario. Though much info is still classified raptor makes the fun out of this fights, much electronic not much like previous GS.
