The F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team is a world-class demonstration team, showcasing the unique aerial capabilities of Air Force’s most advanced 5th generation multi-role stealth fighter, the F-35A Lightning II.
The F-35 Demo Team also performs with the Air Force Heritage Flight Foundation to showcase the past, present and future of American airpower by flying in formation with World War II, Korean, and Vietnam-era aircraft.
The F-35 Demonstration Team recently relocated to Hill Air Force Base, Utah, and is part of Air Combat Command and the 388th Fighter Wing, the Air Force's first combat F-35 Wing.

I never saw a video of the A model doing 15 sec 360 turn. The best I saw was 22 sec. In this video it takes 27 sec from Start Turn to Vertical. BUT I saw the C model doing it in 19 sec.

I've also seen the B-model do it in 20 seconds; both have a lower G-limit than the A-model, so I wouldn't really doubt Wolfe on this matter

Remember that in the Lightning the performance is usually software limited. A given tail number will fly differently depending on the flight logic employed that day, so if the need arises they can always gimp performance to keep its true capabilities secret

that I can imagine with the larger wing. The wing loading is the key factor. I'm a Pierre Sprey adept, what can I say....

@@jhk8396F-35 is underpowered, it doesn’t have the best thrust to weight ratio, it has mediocre lift to drag ratio, and relatively high wing loading. It is for example far worse in all of this metrics than F-15C, and F-15C has never demonstrated 360 deg. turn in just 15 seconds. In other words, facts are disputing the pilots words!

It’s more like 26 based on the secs in the video. 2. Maybe 15 secs is the full capability turn abs she slipped up, we don’t quite know. But I won’t say it can do 15 secs either since I don’t know.

Standard atmosphere, 1000ft MSL, 350KIAS, 360 degree turn in 18 sec means that the aircraft sustained at 6.5g during turn. This is the easy math calculation... If F-35 turned in 15 sec, It must have sustained at 7.5g. There is no fighter aircraft in the world sustained-turning that fast.

So Im guessing the minimum radius turn is governed by the jet's/pilot's G endurance?

They have g suits and breathing maneuvers that help.

Please count the turn. It's 22 secs. Just as I have seen it do often at airshows. An F16 is between the 16 and 19 seconds, depending on the version. No way 15 secs, maybe momentous turn rate but not sustained.

Maybe 15 secs is the secret unlocked full capability turn. We don’t know because the F-35 is limited in capabilities. But I’m not going to say it can do 15 secs either. I’m just guessing it could be a slip up of what this jet can actually do.

Airshows are limited to 7.5 g on the min radius turn. It's not the fastest turn or the full capability. The Dojo drift is where they really pull on that stick.
