As a New Zealander great to see our old A4's. We should have kept them and invited friendly Navies to train in our seas against air attack like No 2 squadron did in Norwa for the RAN. Or as advanced trainers for friendly foreign air forces. Anti aircraft training for soldiers. Mountain terrain flying training. All while subsidizing our own small fast jet force. Was not to be.

I grew up close to Ohakea RNZAF where they were based, great memories of them, and the Ozzy aardvarks, used to drive up the beach and get close to the bombing range. Awesome days

F-5 and its glorious derivative the F-20 are, to me, the most simultaneously purposeful and beautiful cold war planes.

3 F-20s were built ....................Two of the pilots exceeded their ability. Try to imagine what happens today if you put A superhornet's engine in an F-5 rather than the legacy hornet's.

I work out at a hangar at Alliance airport in Fort Worth, Texas. I see the F-1's all the time. I think, but I'm not sure, didn't Draken move their headquarters to Fort Worth?
