Hey there, I've noticed that there are only very little files on the Drive. I'm very interested in the dimensions/blueprints for the seat: Are you able to share these?
Following your project with much interest! One word of warning: be VERY CAREFUL using an extension of that length with the Warthog stick. While the stick itself is metal, the gimbals are NOT and there are a number of folks who've had gimbals fail using the long extensions. If you like the stick, you may want to consider the Virpil MT50 or WarBRD base. They will accept the Warthog stick but use metal gimbals and will last for much longer. Apologies if you're already aware :)
There's always a risk of something breaking if you slam the stick into the sides. One of the benefits of 3d printing is that the 3d printed components will break first. It's also pretty rare that I go full on the stick and slam it into the sides so I'm not too worried about the longevity. For the cockpit i'll eventually be making my own stick from scratch, the warthog is only temporary for now. If Thrustmaster releases the F/A-18 stick before I finish mine, i might integrate theirs into a custom base system.
Hello from the opposite side of the world! I've been watching your video with great interests hoping I can make my own pit, and I got stuck on my first hurdle finding aluminum seat frame that you used in this video. (maybe they are not producing it anymore..) It says Ultra shield aluminum seat, but I can't seem to find the one that you used. I want to use the one you used as having bucket seats that have wings on the sides really getting in the way of my arm & elbow. Could you give me brief info of your seat (which manufacturer is that , size (16" 17") ) I'd be much much appreciated. Thanks and congratulation to your Cockpit!
It says Kirkey racing seat, but i got it from an old roommate so I have no idea where he got it from. I am probably also going to upgrade the seat to a GTOmega or build a custom ejection seat. The all metal one is not at all comfortable without a lot of additional padding.
Ryan, awesome, awesome, awesome! Do you have specs for the seat and platform and the left and right sides to support the throttle and other components? Thanks
The frame blueprints are in the description of the video. I'm still working on finishing up the cad for the whole cockpit since i keep learning better ways to do things so there isnt a complete model yet. As I complete components though, I post the blueprints on patreon so people can follow along. There are not a lot of them right now, but i'll do post them as i complete sections.
Hello. I have uploaded the Fusion 360 files as well as some blueprint exports to my google drive. I'll be adding more files as designs get closer to completion. Here's a link to the google drive. drive.google.com/drive/u/1/folders/1pyC-j7a77PhLepf-hEFeeLE6XmoC0mDV
Just stumbled across you and your build, I would love to get the files you are using for the 3d printed parts. I just bought one to follow along with you. so if you would like to share your plans i would love to get them! thank you for an awesome follow of your build!
Some of the files are hosted on my google drive. Until I finalize a design, there's not a lot of files though since they're a work in progress. The thrustmaster pipe adapters are available through the link in the video description.
@@thesimulationexperience yea I started on those, but those DDI's is what i would to start on. So you are not up to sharing those? or selling the plans? i am ok with a work in progress lol
@@wanzzilla Those I can probably post. they wouldnt take too much work to finish I can probably do a quick video, share the cad files, and do a walkthrough of how to finish them. they wont be as modular as good as the final solution i'm working on, but you could finish them and have something to work with. Probably something I could get uploaded to the community next week or so
@@wanzzilla After revisiting the MFDs this weekend. They need a lot more work than I initially thought. They're still pretty high on the list though. I probably won't release them this week but they'll be coming out soon. I'll have both acrylic plans and 3d printing plans when they do come out though so they should be fully functional and standalone even if they're not the final version to go into the cockpit.
