EA and Madden will never change. They have no motivation to as long as idiots buy the game every year and make it profitable. What needs to change is people opening their wallet for it every year. Consumers are idiots and deserve 100% of the blame for the Madden monopoly continuing to exist.

Thing is while they too have problems, you can load up an NHL or a FIFA, MLB or 2K and everything is there that want in a sports title. Modes that just don't even exist in Madden anymore. These players need to look around and see what other sports get. Madden is a shell for FUT and that'a it.

Some people can’t handle that the game they love has been trash since the beginning of the last generation of consoles. That’s a long time for a game to suck as bad as Madden does. The devs make excuses, the fans make excuses, and EA doesn’t give a shit. Until sales drop, EA will continue to not give a shit.
Agreed and it is what frustrates me the most. Both the NFL and EA are extremely data driven. As long as the profits keep going up that stupid exclusivity agreement will remain. There are too many dumb casuals that will keep lapping this game up.
Agree with everything here. One of the big ones that players have resigned themselves to is the disconnect glitch where you get a loss record when the other person disconnects. Madden is trash and the creators have no incentive to fix the game and just profit off of the micro transactions because they have no competition. Another thing is the mechanics where you’re no longer required to dedicate time to getting good at the game and therefore having an objective skill level. Now you’ll be playing H2H against a kid with a net losing record and up 4 TD’s and out of no where he starts to make big plays and get sliding interceptions when you guy was wide open lol. It’s insane and it’s the participation trophy mentality baked into the games these days. It’s disgusting and I hate it.
Every time I go up against people who are 10 x better than me I always leave the match to save the frustration but when I do find people similar to my skill level I'll play the game out

This is why I haven't brought a Madden game since Madden 12. From Madden 13 to now with Madden 24, it's been trash, pathetic, terrible and so bad. I will continue to play old Madden games from Madden 04 to Madden 12, even I'll continue to play college football games until Madden becomes better. I'm 18 years old and I'm so frustrated to the point that I almost cried because I just want Madden to be good again

Unfortunately it’s the only NFL licensed game and we get the urge to play football around football season. I’m 💯 sure if there was a competitor Madden would be second or third class to the competition. If we had 2k NFL I wouldn’t buy madden until they come correct. Love this video!!! Being a former player these past Madden games make me sick. They wasted the ESPN license (those 2k highlights and replays were awesome), dulled it down to give us "features" that we didnt need and took alot of things old madden players loved. Such a waste to monopolizing a industry and do nothing with it. Such a shame
I don't know how this video isn't more popular. It seems everyday this game pisses me off to no end. EA Sports doesn't even give a shit, I've sent in numerous reports and have hundreds of videos I've taken where it shows blatant glitches and bugs. Even broken plays.
They need to give up the license and let other companies make nfl games. ea needs to start from the ground up and rebuild this game. And just roster update until the new game is made from the ground up.
Y’all need to understand that Madden is not an offline game. They focus 98% of their resources on finding innovative ways to charge you micro transactions instead of innovative ways to improve the game.

The clip where the DB stopped and turned around happened to me 10 years ago and I haven’t bought or played Madden since. It’s basically as you raise the difficulty your players get dumber no matter the player’s rating.
Yup. I want it to be harder because the other team is better, smarter, reads the game and reacts a little faster. I don't want it to be harder because my teammates are fucking morons now. I still play Madden 06, because that was a great game. Just a steady decline every since.

I really appreciate your candid and truthful comments about the state of The Madden videogames. I stopped supporting and buying Madden in 2017 myself because year in and year out they showed that they cared nothing about the gamer and only about micro transactions. If Madden really cared they would stop rushing to put garbage out every year and make it free to play with yearly updates of rosters, stadiums, rules,etc. Not everyone cares about ultimate team and spending hundreds of dollars after paying full price for a game. You're absolutely right about the people that keep wanting to make excuses for EA. EA has proven that they do not need to be making the Madden franchise any longer. I miss the days of waiting with anticipation for the midnight release of Madden at GameStop and rushing home to play the latest game in the series but those days are long gone. So until EA gets it together or someone else takes over the Madden franchise I will not support it.

Because it is- EA is a break neck company meaning "you get what you paid for" they don't care about shit, it is 23, but patched just like how 2k19 was for 2k18 but 2k was fun
A problem I've had with EA in general with their games is that they release a game every year with no break for the developers ita all corporate greed.
Bruh, this is a problem amongst many triple a title communities. NBA 2k communities and call of duty does the same. What happened is the developers discovered that their consumers are naive and stupid enough to purchase a trash title every year.
When the market is monopolized, you either refuse after seeing the bad product year in year out. OR you just succumb to knowing that this is the only title I'm going to get and just eat it and play it as it is. I'm not defending the game, but I understand folks that just want to play a football game and there is no alternative. Unfortunately its a double edged sword. Hopefully this is the year the NFL see's the fact that they'd make MORE money if there were multiple publishers that have the opportunity make a game. However, don't expect that because the NFL wants their greedy little hands in the process of what is and isn't in the game. It's evident because look at what we had prior to madden getting the stranglehold on football rights. Blitz, NFL gameday, NFL 2k, QB Club, etc. The NFL is just going to accept that they make a ton of money off Madden and they're ok with whatever EA churns out. I hope something changes, but I fully expect to hear that the NFL has renegotiated with EA and extended them for longer.
I’ve played madden since the 90s man, I had to give up on it after Madden 16. It’s a damn shame how they disrespect these players and the work they put in. I’ll never buy it again ever.

There was ONE person ever who could have fixed this game. Imagine a phone call from about 10 years ago. "Hey Clint, John Madden here. Look I've been noticing this game hasn't played like real football in years. I told you in the beginning I wouldn't put my name on it if it wasn't real football. So get your F&*^%ING act together or I'm taking my name off." The team would have moved heaven and Earth to fix it yesterday. But he sold out and went to his grave barely knowing (or in my opinion caring) what went into the game that he GAVE HIS NAME and likeness to. But now that he's gone that will never happen.

It’s only the whales that spend 1000s every month opening packs to get the best possible team and then exploit formations or certain plays/audibles to get one route open every single time and the. Turn around and say “well you can do it too” but I can’t because I don’t play any game to just run the meta. Where’s the fun and competitive nature in that?? Every sports game is going to shit with the addition of these MUT modes where people are happily forming away money to make EA richer than they deserve to be.

As you rank higher, you come across more players who abuse a set of 3-4 plays which mostly comes out of Trips formations. Every time I play the game I know I’m going to inevitably give up at least a touchdown because of some a**hole using a cheat play that gets a certain receiver open every play. Nobody uses 10+ different plays a game anymore. It’s all the same shit with an open corner, wheel, crosser, or post route every time. Don’t even get me started on the OP defenses that have come out. People abuse Cover 3 zone blitz, Cover 4 match, or an OP 3-3 Dime defense out of Dollar or 46. Don’t forget that it’s damn near impossible to run up the middle against a 3-3 because of how OP D-linemen are in the game, especially the D-tackles. It’s ridiculous. I could make a 2 page essay on why Madden 24 sucks a** but I’d rather save my time. I can’t believe that Madden has the rights to this franchise.
All facts, I stopped playing Madden years ago because of the glitches and bad gameplay. They have that license and they know they can put out anything and people will buy it. In 2023 you'd think we'd have one of the best looking football games ever but nope. Sad that NFL 2k5 is still more advanced than Madden made this year and still considered the greatest football game ever made. I'll play football games again once ea doesn't have a monopoly on the NFL license.

As someone who primarily enjoys franchising I gave in this year, played it for about 2 hours. Its even worse than before..I am happy that it led me to find NFL Head Coach 09 on the Xbox 360. It's so incredible to be able to trust the AI, clock decisions, have incredible depth and passion put into every screen. Also shout out to Legend Bowl. Gameplay is way more fun to play football games in than Madden! The dev of that one is working on a sequel that should add some depth and a more complete franchising experience.
Preach! EA Sports dont care about their customers. Think about it, they have the license to make NFL games, which means they can be as lazy & careless as they want bc theres no competition.
This game should look a million times better, it should play a million times better, and it should have MORE features in it than games from 15 years ago. The only excuse is that fools and their money will soon part ways. EA/Madden doesn't need to do better because fools will still buy this game and packs. That's the end of it. You don't demand better, you won't get any better. Madden 20 was my last one and with the extra FU EA/Madden gave me as a PC gamer. They pulled it from Origin/EA Access or whatever the eff they call the new online service these days. That means even though I paid for a full copy of the game, I can't play it, because the PC version of the game HAS to handshake with the server EVEN FOR OFFLINE SINGLE PLAYER MODES! WHY? So, when I contacted customer support, they first acted like they were from another planet asking me all kinds of stupid questions. Finally their response to PC gamers was.....go buy a FULL version of the game from your favorite local retailer. Whut? I already HAVE a FULL version of the game. And you can't get another PC version of the game because...nobody sells it, because it no longer works. So now you are telling me I have to buy a console version of the game for a console I don't have? There is a reason why I bought it for PC, I don't do consoles anymore.
I still have a working NES with Tecmo Bowl and Tecmo Super Bowl. Also a working Dreamcast with NFL2K1. Madden the game series stopped existing to me after the Genesis. I plan to keep it that way. Great video man!

I remember in madden 05 there was a certain tackle that would spin ball carrier around and defender would get called for face mask. That animation wasn’t removed until madden 22. They just stopped the face mask penalty exact same animation
How can anyone feel bad for Madden content creators? They’re part of the problem. The vast majority ignore the issues that have plagued this game forever and ride the MUT train for clicks and ad revenue. I feel bad for John Madden having his name tied to this franchise.

The last madden I enjoyed was the one that had an awesome franchise mode, it had like news stuff where you could look at headlines and stuff from around the league, it was probably over a decade ago or so but yeah that's the last one I remember enjoying
My complaint about the game for a long, long time has been the horrifically bad AI in solo mode. No adjustments by the AI whatsoever. EA’s definition of “harder” is to inexplicably force more turnovers. There’s no adjustments to anything I do. When a company has the market cornered on NFL football, and this is the best they can do? Sorry, just not worth my investment. It’s an insult to the coach whose name it wears on its cover.

Yup. It’s why 6-7 years ago I quit playing online. Then about three years ago, I quit playing all together last spring. I bought the new Xbox because everybody swore that it was better on next GEN. It’s played by the same exact problems. It was in madden 13 except the exacerbated. Everything is worse you have less control your computer control players have less logic. You have less ability to make hot routes or changes at the line of scrimmage. In a lot of ways. It’s an absolute joke it’s refreshing to see someone else feel the same way about it. And for context when I did play Madden online in 2012 and 13, I was rated in the top 1000 those years. I never had a losing record online even back with my 49ers were trash. I have never play ranked game without them and I was out there beating people with JTO Sullivan Troy Smith and shit. It’s a joke your football knowledge means less and less every year. Did you lose control of the players every year?
I haven’t bought Madden in years as well. It’s so unfortunate that fans of the game of football haven’t had a real experience in forever. I guess the NFL really doesn’t care to have their image and product represented like this. Madden is more arcade-y than blitz, and it’s not even fun. Don’t feel bad for Eric.
