If someone were interested in trying out tantalum for cheap, Costco sells tantalum wedding bands for under $140. As far as this watch, there's really nothing worth looking at _under_ the dial, not to insult anyone's preferences but it looks cheap to me - at least on video. They really put in minimal effort to make it seem like there was a good reason to cut away the dial when if they wanted a rising sun there are a myriad of ways to do it with a solid dial that would have looked more upscale. Or they could have put in the effort to skeletonize the bridge directly under the dial and it being an FPJ with most of the gear train hidden under the dial, that skeletonized bridge would have revealed it, thus providing an actual reason to cut away the dial.
