Thanks for posting your experience with the glass repair. Do you know if they applied an OBD II device to your F-Pace during the installation or “calibration” process? Having an open CAN bus (improper shut down) could have been the reason for the flat battery after 12 hours. (Which seems a bit short duration, normally it takes more then 24 hours to drain the Jag’s battery via an active CAN bus). Did you check the relative health of your battery recently / before the service? It could be in relatively poor health from age. In general, it is best to disconnect your Jag’s battery for 30 seconds after every service just to ensure proper CAN bus shut down, then you are free to drive away and avoid flat batteries. All the Best in 2024
Credit to you for taking the time and effort to filming these fraught situations. I would be cursing the whole time. My neighbour really does love the sound when I start up the V6, I reckon yours do too but don’t want to admit it.😊
This has just happened to my F-Pace yesterday. Rang auto glass and they stated " it happens all the time" however I need to wait 3 days to speak to a manager. Did auto glass accept responsibility and pay for your replacement battery?
Sorry to hear it. Yes they did. It helped that I had time stamped footage of battery tests from the previous week, showing good battery health, as I had just shot a video with the battery tester
I have the exact same f pace, engine, colour, wheels and black pack, although wish I had extended the warranty at year 3 (almost at year 6). Have you had to replace the timing chain on yours? Mine has been good to me so far, only cost so far excluding the usual servicing was engine mounts replacement.
OMG, My Fp had the exact same problem one day. My community office told me that my car light was on overnight …. I also called jumpstart service while the guy told me that battery needs to be replaced soon. 😂 the JLR service manager asked if I just had inspection before this cause they always see folks got the problem after inspection.
This is crazy! My lights (exterior) mysteriously came on last night at some point. Drained my battery, just got it towed to JLR but never had a low battery warning. 2019 F-Pace Premium w/37k miles..
@@andybaginski9021 Had to get a new battery. It failed the "load test" at JLR. Apparently when going through emissions or MOT they don't back out of the test properly and it drains the battery.
The car computers do not power down after plugging in an OBD reader, hence the flattening of the battery. I've done a video on this if you need more info :)
@@MrGB_UK damn bro, here from South Florida. Have a 2019 Rsport Fpace and Ive gone through 4 batteries already and could never tell why this was. LOL not even the dealer mentioned this to me, they would just change the battery and tell me to keep an eye on it. Now it all makes sense because the battery would start draining after something was plugged into the ODB sensor. From now on I'll make sure to unplug the battery afterwards to shut down the computer. Thank you for the vid but specially for this comment. Cheers!
