Yes, RV has definitely become the group SM wanted f(x) to be. Not taking anything away from RV, I love their music too, and I never held the timing of their debut against them. I'm just angry at SM, they can't figure out how to make money from f(x), but they're so sure that somebody else _could_ make money with f(x), they keep the group locked up under contract.

SNSD members have mentioned that by performing for 10+ years, they "gave their childhoods" to SM. Well, so has f(x), and they have much less to show for it! T___T

@Gary XHLC No. Just no. Red Velvet sounds nothing like f(x) so I wish people would stop making the comparisons. If you need to compare Red Velvet's sound to anyone in SM, it would be SES. I feel like the only people who compare Red Velvet and f(x) have never listened to both group's entire discographies. I have and they sound so different from one another. f(x) also have around the same album sales as Red Velvet and everything (Red Velvet happens to have more album releases at this point and more consistent comebacks as all members are available to make comebacks), f(x) were doing amazing until they had to be apart because their solo schedules no longer aligning. So, please don't spout nonsense if you don't know.

Stop putting words in my mouth and try to understand what I actually said.* SM's clear preference for RV has little to do with the sound, or the sales, it's the fact that RV is far more conventional-appearing kpop (for all their quirkiness), and the management likes that. SM isn't failing to reunite f(x) because they are "too busy" with solo stuff, f(x) members have been hustling solo stuff (and gotten very good at it) _because SM has been neglecting them!_ They still have to pay rent and put food on their plates! And pay off their trainee debt! There's clearly office politics involved at SM, and now international politics as well! China has "suddenly" made it difficult for their citizens to get visas to Korea over the South China Sea situation, just a little "bureaucratic snafu", so Victoria is stuck, can't reunite with f(x) until the restrictions are relaxed.

FWIW I agree 100% with Mando, that f(x)'s sound is unique, and that's frankly one of the things I love about them. That's why I've been a fan even when the fandom was nameless! Look, us MEU's shouldn't fight each other, but I promise you, I will END anyone else who tries to say I know nothing about f(x)!

f(x)'s and SNSD's version's of Chocolate Love were released simultaneously as part of a coordinated ad campaign, so both can be considered "original" versions. f(x) filmed two different versions of their MV/CF for this.
