Luna is officially a BROADWAY star. She went from auditioning as a dancer to cementing herself as a main VOCAL in the industry. And yea f(x) was too ahead of its time, a lot of their songs could be released today.

Pink tape is such a monumental and amazing album for f(x) and is critically acclaimed by many. It’s also the pinnacle to f(x)’s sound and style.

Yeah, I think my lasting love for The Pink Tape is that it really feels like an album. Listening to this now with you as “new” ears is making me notice the seeds of what became parts of NCT and Red Velvets sounds. (Your Shadow addlibs we’re nice) By the way “Goodbye Summer” is ambers first released self composed track. “Signal” is, of course, a great Kenzie track Snapshot feels incomplete to me.

f(x) remains my favourite groupt till this day, I still go back to listen to their albums often. There are very few kpop groups where I love the full album and in general f(x) have more cohesive albums. Luna is a great vocalist, but you won't really hear her full abilities in the group songs. I would love to see more f(x) reactions!

So glad you reviewed this one! Some trivia: the demo for "No More" was originally an Ariana Grande song called "Boyfriend Material" w/ kinda generic lyrics so I love the twist they put on it "Shadow" is either about a literal shadow that's in love with the person its attached to or a stalker "Goodbye Summer" is the first f(x) song written and composed by Amber, who was encouraged by Krystal to submit it Krystal and Amber had a hand in curating the songs for this album and the ones following, which is why I think it sounds so unified and relatable since f(x) songs don't show off her vocals, people were shocked that Luna was THAT GOOD on King of Masked Singer even though she'd been in the business for many years by then the album is designed to look like a pink VHS tape (I think it won a packaging design award) the photobook looks like a bunch of stills from an artsy foreign film and features Kai in some of the scenes they debuted young so their previous albums were more childish, but this one had a coming of age vibe, followed by Red Light which was grown up and dark there's no official footage of all 5 girls singing most of these songs because f(x) never got to perform 95% of their b-sides until their first and only solo concert in 2016 after Sulli left. But there are some fancams of the five of them performing "Step" and "No More" in a joint concert with EXO, which have super cute choreo and make me miss Sulli so, so much

The Pink Tape, Red Light and 4 Walls ! The best F(x) albums in my opinion, they are fantastic to this day!😁 If you ever have the time, I’d LOVE to see your reactions to the other two, they’re my faves😭

Since you enjoyed pink tape, i think you'll like red light and 4 walls. The production on these albums are amazing 👏🏾 Regarding Luna's vocals, you're right, in fx its more about the music and them cohesive as a group. I do suggest checking out luna's solo mini album and some live stages to see why she's top 3 female SM vocalists imo Side note: you should check out the pink tape art film, they use shadow as the background music, it was very unique coming from SM at the time

Shadow is my favorite kpop song, it actually samples a song called Candyman by Liz Primo. But I just love the f(x) take on it, the beat and those kinda cute/creepy/stalkerish lyrics are everything to me lmao!!! Step, as well, these two songs had me by my neck back in 2013 and get me so hyped to this day!

pink tape is such a critically acclaimed album, it might not be everyone's taste but god it's min hee jin's creative masterpiece, the concept and production of the album is considered s tier in kpop

this was a really fun reaction! like others have said, a big part of why this album is still so loved is that it’s so cohesive. my personal favorites are airplane (always makes me SO emotional!) and step (it’s so catchy and the lyrics are so fun, comparing choosing sneakers over heels to putting wings on your feet! i love). the entire album just fills this teenage girl space and it makes me so nostalgic lol

First kpop album I ever bought. Favorite track is a tie between RPPP and Goodbye Summer.

This album is an early artwork by newjeans producer Min Hee-jin. I recommend her f(x)"Pink Tape" The 2nd Album Art Film. Even though it is a 2013 work, you will feel the quality that is not inferior to now, and you can feel the original image of the newjeans .

Please do 4walls! 2015 was so good with shinee, exo, red velvet and f(x)’s releases, but especially 4walls was something else, I have yet to hear a kpop album that comes to that level of uniqueness

Dubstep, half-time break downs? Check out any SM artist album release between 2012-2013. SM was OBSESSED with dubstep at this time to say the least. I feel like each of their artist has at least one song with a dubstep break even if it made no sense in the moment. Super Junior-M even has a track called Break Down. Guess what musical element of the song is?

As you may have noticed 'No more' was later released as 'Boyfriend Material' by Ariana Grande. SM bought the rights for the song when Ariana scrapped the song from her first album tracklist but she released it a few years later as a gift for her fans

Pink tape is an album a head of its time and my fav album of them. f(x) is my fav girlgroup till this day even though they aren't active as a group for a long time, hope to see them reunion someday.

This album goes hand in hand with shines Lucifer album Fx is the sister group of shinee and they are opposites of SMs traditional 2nd gen boy and girl groups like SNSD, Super Junior, The Grace CSJH (You should check out there songs Especially dancer in the rain and one more time okay), TVXQ. They helped set up the sounds that red velvet, NCT, EXO and AESPA are only now coming to terms with. This album wasent just an album, when it was released it was released along side a 2 minute art film which hadnet ever really been done at the time so that alone made it a monumental moment in kpop history and marked it as the best marketing tactics SM had ever produced. I could see AESPA doing Nu*ABO one of the most experimental kpop song EVER, this song basically set up the bases of I got a boy along with shinees ring ding dong. So I guess with FX groups like AESPA, red velvet, itzy (Especially ITZY I see FX major influence over them) ect ect.. it helped them come into there own made the Korean market more willing to the experimental sound that SM would push in recent years. I can't wait till you get to Luna's solo album just a hit GALAXY is one of the best vocals Luna has ever given on a track EVER.

You should really watch their last concert. Dimension 4 Docking Station. The song mixes are really fun. And the opening was crazy looked like a rave.

this project is just spectacular-- its one of those projects where you can sort of hear it's presence in other works that came after it, I love that feeling. I think someone in the comments mentioned how you can almost hear the seeds of NCT and Red Velvet, and they're right! I hope to own a physical copy of this one day.. but at the moment it's too expensive for me.

Goodbye Summer was written by Amber, & there's an English version (or should I say completely different song using the same music, cause it's happy instead of sad, with different lyrics?) called I Just Wanna. That version has Amber singing with Eric Nam, & they didn't force her to be 3rd on her own song like in Goodbye Summer.
