Hirgovic was mandatory for the IBF for about 2yrs! the IBF made exemptions for the undisputed fight once that fight taken place the mandatory was due! Dubois beats Hirgovic and is upgraded from interim champ to full champ. Everyone in boxing knows that you only get 1 or 2 exemptions and if you dont face your mandatory, you get stripped and that is exactly what happened with Usyk the IBF aren't going to sanction a rematch so the belt become vacant. However, the actual start of the beef was when AJ dumped Rob McCracken and referred to Frotch as an example of McCracken's inability to teach defence. Carl is 100% wrong about that. His loyalty to McCracken has blinded him. AJ was 100% right; McCracken did not teach Froch anything about defence, as proved when he first fought Groves. McCracken did nothing in that fight to help Frotch; only Froch's chin got him through. Fast forward a few years to AJ vs Usyk's first fight. Mccracken did nothing to help AJ except tell him how well he was doing. AJ finally realised that just like boxers, there are levels for trainers. McCracken is a great trainer at the amateur level.

Most of these big fights involve rematch clauses and if they are enacted, then surely the belts should be locked in to that rematch clause imo. I agree with Carl.
