@@Zac_Frost I'd recommend looking them up then. But be warned, you might hate it and pretend it doesn't exist or you will strangely like it. Your choice
Yeaaaah this game is like 30 years ahead of its time since only high end gaming PCs can handle its utmost performance. And the irony is this game is set in a futuristic universe 😂👌
and by AV :P I only learned (little) about this game because it uses some same file structure for models as Super Monkey Ball, which is also from Sega and AV
I remember trying to master wave riding just to beat that one story stage where you race Cap's rival down track. Also, think about the scale of these tracks in the F-Zero world. Average speed is 1200 kmph. That's insane. That's 100x faster than US highway speeds.
AG racers are in a terrible state. But happy to see something like Fast RMX and BallisticNG exist. But I never understand why hardcore F-Zero fans are always shittalking about Wipeout. Both are AG racers but complete different in gameplay.
I’ve never played an F-Zero game before but it looks so sick, I like that it’s more skill based with racing rather than winning by random turtle shells or other items screwing you over to win a race.
It is most certainly skill-based, as is the entire series. It's built on the foundation of quick reflexes, energy management, and course memorization. It can and will kick your ass if you're not careful.
I'd forgotten just how insane the speed in this game is. You've got to go right on the ragged edge to win. One missed input is death. No energy left for even one boost. It's a total rush.
@@Blakestefer Just converted a friend to this game, now it's even more casual then chess. We Grand prix and share the controler after each races of deaths. Nice times!
Sega really did an amazing job with this game. It was the first partnership with Nintendo for a home console game and it was epic we need a remake or a sequel
Phantom Road: Slim-Line Slits is the one track that's standing between me and unlocking the AX Cup. I aced the game before, back in my teens, but I haven't been able to do so as an adult, for some reason. I could really use a good first-party Game Cube controller. The only other track that gives me so much trouble on Diamond Cup is Sand Ocean: Lateral Shift (more like Lateral Shit to me). Otherwise, every other track on the Diamond Cup is really fun and challenging.
Slim-line always gave me trouble, even as a teen, my work-around was just blowing up whoever came in 1st and second place in the previous tracks, by the time you get to Phantom road you *should* be far enough ahead in points to place retain 1st place
I use DualSense but you need such precise movements on the analog stick that I find that it's nearly impossible on courses like Phantom Road without hurting your hand.
You pretty much have to be "one of those assholes who keeps killing everyone" to win the Diamond Cup on harder difficulties, because the AI blatantly cheats so much. A tip for Sand Ocean: Lateral Shift, by the way: even a total dunce like me can shift-boost on that track. What you do is that every time there's a lateral shift section, you aim your machine so that you just barely miss the track but immediately hop back on. Top-Speed World Record can reach orbital speeds on this track.
@@VestedUTuber True. I won a cup on Master by shoulder attacking King Meteor,Queen Meteor,Black Bull,Mighty Gazelle and Astro Robin. It gave me a advantage.
One of the hardest games I bet in my life (story mode in all difficulties). Now I'm good in this game imo, well, after a lot of deaths and tragedies on the game (at least I saw some videos that seemed to worked me in some chapters in very hard, because it was near impossible xD). P.D. Good playthrough, this cup is the hardest one, I died a lot and I need to beat it on master to unlock AX cup, but I'm not able, the IA destroys you and is very cheap sometimes jajahahaha.
i managed to complete the game 100%, oh the rage quits i went tru, but once i made a custom machine that improved my skillz, i became an F-ZERO-BEAST, but i still struggle at this cup, btw this is a very underrated Nintendo game
Not really, phantom road is the hardest track in the game imo, but I’m usually always in the top 6 at the end of the race and 7/10 I usually come in first. It’s all about skill, memorizing the track, and learning how to manage your boost power
From a practical standpoint yes. If you practice it might be possible to score well. But this is probably the track where the ai seems to cheat the most.
Well not the only way. Assuming you're using Blue Falcon and not doing any snaking, exploits etc... it was pretty difficult. But I'm sure there's people out that could beat or place well legitimately. Much respect to those who could.
You could play the first track just for kills. Spend 2 laps killing the rivals then nail the last lap. Worked a treat everytime. You could get to Phantom Road with a 200 point lead.
@@kuromifan10 4 times actually since the game file cannot be copied on different memory cards😅 while possible with a regular machine it's much easier with custom parts as they're faster and more stable.
@Mitchell J. Greenwood it should be possible to transfer emulated data and files to another PC and F zero gx game file. It's only a restriction limited to unmodified Nintendo consoles in my case GameCube and Wii.
Holy damn xD I wasnt playing but even I was tense and almost forgot to breath on the last race This game and its difficulty have created memories and pride that hasnt diminished 19 yrs later
best racing game ever made. They did us dirty by neglecting this series. Their reason is "we cant come up with anything new for it" ... that to me just sounds like they dont have a gimmick for it. A lot of new games come out as a refinement or iteration on the last - they do it with their other series where if there is a gimmick its not that different. Give us more tracks, maybe find some way to world build more because these locales are super interesting. .. hell give a hub city like a GTA lite set in Big Blue or something, have some cowboy bebop shit going on idk..or not... or just give me more tracks.. either way it would be badass af...
i played a lot hard games in my life. from nes era to this era. including the souls games, ninja gaiden, ghosts n goblins on nes and mega man series. i swear, i did not beat this games story mode on very hard, to this day. i just cant fuckin complete it. why is this game so goddamn freakin hard???!!!
Diamond is the hardest cup, imo. It's one thing to go fast enough to beat the AI, but you have to do it without dying. It's easy to fall off course everywhere in this cup, and there is only 1 extra life on Master.
Nintendo Switch it’s the perfect Nintendo console to release new F-Zero because the amount of consoles they sold. Only with that scenario we have been able to get new Metroid an a Metroid Prime remaster. It’s for that we can expect after many years a new F-Zero or remaster of GX, what looks awesome and should be more easy to obtain benefits.
Sand Ocean Lateral Shift was and is my favorite level and is also the only level I was able to beat the developer ghost. I only ever played the game with my custom vehicle. And that song always got me over hyped beyond belief. This game will never be matched. Best racing game of all time.
While this game is a very good demonstration of 60fps, I wouldn't go as far as to say that it was near unheard of. The Dreamcast actually had a number of 60fps titles, and by the time this game came out in 2003, the Gamecube already had a number of 60fps titles, such as Metroid Prime, Super Monkey Ball, Pac-Man World 2, Star Fox Adventures and Super Smash Bros. Melee. It also can't be overlooked that F-Zero X on the N64 was also 60fps, although that was pretty rare for the N64.
Yeah, Slim Line Slits is a track I've never placed higher than 14th on. That end of the lap curve can throw you off you're going too fast like with Fat Shark. Plus the other racers will all dump into you via the narrow railing.
@@zefizzypop5020 i see your technique, i knew i could beat the computers if i used all my boost on the slim parts of the track, i just don't have the patience to practice that track
@@ninjadude183 probably a bad idea. Sega ain’t the same company they were when they made this masterpiece, and they probably don’t have access to as many resources as they did back in the day. Just look at banana mania, even though it’s a good game it looks so much less polished than the games it was supposed to be a remake of. And they came out in 2001-2002!
May I ask what parts your using? I’ve never made a custom machine before. I’m currently doing master on the diamond cup and then I will unlock the AX cup!!!
I have barely messed around with the custom parts before. I'm just using the Rainbow Phoenix here, which is not a custom machine. It can be unlocked by completing story mode chapter 1 on very hard.
Here is winning podium in my imagination as F Zero X style: 1. Captain Falcon 2. Skull 3. Black Shadow 4. Jody Summer 5. Dr Stewart 6. Jack Levin 7. Baba 8. Gomar Shioh 9. James McCloud 10. Octoman 25. Samurai Goroh 26. Mighty Gazelle 27. John Tanaka 28. Dr Clash 29. Pico 30. Zoda
It feels so weird watching a non risky play of this game, I usually go full on into going as fast and risky as possible and trying to put as many other racers off course that seeing just, a normal, casual playthrough feels, weird??
The tracks in this game feel like songs. the first lap gives you the intro and verse, lap 2 the chorus and second verse, lap 3 the bridge into final chorus. Really was brilliant design to have boost unlock on lap 2 and music change on lap 3.
@@arronmunroeI’ve seen people theorize that F-Zero 99 is a way to get new players prepared for a brand new 3D F-Zero. Hopefully that’s correct. Either way, I actually really love F-Zero 99.
I haven't yet tried F-Zero 99 myself, although I think it looks interesting enough. I would still say it's an unusual way of reintroducing the series, although it would make more sense if a new game does get announced. Either way, I can say it's better than nothing.
@@arronmunroe honestly it would be the perfect bait-and-switch to announce a new 3D game right after that… I could see Nintendo going: The new F-Zero game that people have been waiting for since more than a decade? Haha you get Tetris 99 but racing game. And now here’s F-Zero ZX that has been in development since 2018. Haha you didnt see that coming did you? But i dont know. It does seem weird to release a new F-Zero game and have it be this shallow. Lets just wait and see honestly.
Still better than damn Fortnite... 100/100 . Question my friend, are you playing it on the gamecube too?? I have only one controller but they are expensive to buy
While I do still own this on the Gamecube, I usually prefer playing it on an emulator, although using my official Gamecube controller with the Wii U adapter. The best time to buy a Gamecube controller is when they sell them new, which happened the last two times a Smash Brothers game came out. Amazon sells used official Gamecube controllers for as low as $31 from Japan, and the one I bought was in good condition, at least.
@@arronmunroe thank you so much ..... man when I first saw the trailer for it way back I knew I was going to buy a gamecube.. oddly enough I bought the Super Smash Brothers Meele Gamecube pack Silver ..... My first console I bought with my own money working at a Mexican restaurant
Yeah the tracks are so large to compensate for human control and the machines themselves plus hitting something at 2,000 km an hour probs would be instant death
Unless they can make copies of your human consiouness and clone your physical body, in case your body gets obliterated going at insane speeds, then no it'll prob be dumb to participate
dude i cantg et the diamond cup cause i always die at the halfpipe stage no matter what. this game is so fucking hard, darksouls is a piece of cake compared to this hellhole of a game
