Those are the nostalgia glasses. I as well had remembered the game as photo realistic, then I played it again. 😅 I also remember not sucking at this game like I do in the video haha
i have this running now in windows 10 64bit too - but how did you get this view from behind the drivers helmet - i cant seem to find that option so assumed it wasnt there. also even though i have all settings up to max, the textures on the cars in race are blurry - how did you get them clearer? for me too if i try to run the game at a resolution higher than 1024x768 it will crash before the race starts
You can adjust the camera view with Num keys, I think or with keys above the direction keys like page up, insert, it is definitely one of those keys. As for the resolution and crashing, the game is very fragile, so it's trial and error, but I put the res 3x in dgvoodoo and it works kind of okay. @@VV-Gaming thanks - yes i just tweaked some thing - i had it on just the dgvoodoo accelerated dx card before and my settings in game were limted to just high, i changed it to the geforece Ti and now i can actually put it all up to maximum and it looks much much better
i remember that ireally liked the the damage model of this game when i was a kid and i always wanted to find out if I could detach the T cam by rolling over and i never managed to do so apart for that one time when i had damage disabled....
It is an absolute mess on modern PCs. Using DgVoodoo is a must. Windows XP compat mode is recommended from my experience. You need a CD crack as well thanks to the broken SecuRom CD protection.
I've just remembered the fact that If you play this game in software mode, then its mostly without problems. You will still need to use a CD crack though.
no instrctions provided on how to install this under windows 10. the setup file does not even start and when you copy the files manually from the cd the f1_2000.exe gives an error and closes.
Hmm, is dgvoodoo hooked correctly? Did you apply the crack right? It is some time I have installed this, but I remember getting nothing without crack and then without dgvoodoo. Maybe try to use software renderer in the game setup without compat mode, but always with dgvoodoo, because it is essential.
@@tuzkinity4476 You don't select game folder in dg config, you place DgVoodoo files in the game directory. Those .dlls files must be there, othetwise the F1_2000.exe isn't hooked with DgVoodoo. If you have done everything right then I do not know why it doesn't work for you. Sorry.
@@tuzkinity4476 Okay, strange, there is F1 config.exe in the game directory where you can choose type of "Visual Driver" (or something like that. Also if the config shows Nvidia/AMD display driver instead of DgVoodoo, then something is wrong.) Choose Software and see if you can at least reach menus.
It is a pain but the kinda working config is in the description. Fun fact If you run this game in Linux via Wine it works the best, better than on Windows.
