From now on you've probably seen the worst of the races, things definitely get better from here xD. Like I said in the video it's ultimately down to the track sometimes as to how much you get screwed over
Bad races can happen so don't worry mate :D. I play this game very often too so I have good tips for you. First when you feel vibrations during turning, the speed will be lower. So try when you feel vibrations to reduce the steering a bit and by the way then you can take the corners more tight. Second tip is when you battle for a position. The AI is very aggressive so you do that too. Use the fighting line but always be careful because sometimes the AI touches your wheel and you spin or the cars block themselves. :D by the way have a nice day!
6:38 when you receive a time penalty for cutting the chicane, don't let the AI overtake you, stand in front of them, turn left and right using the back camera, and try avoid attack the kerbs that you know gonna spin, keep trying you still can be the champion
In gran turismo 3 the formula car class, braking, the corning, the weight and any other cars with great weight getting around corners real smooth are so soothing.
There are some kerbs that you can use and attack aggressively and there are definitely some bullshit auto-spin kerbs which I understand is quite frustrating. But sometimes you just gotta deal with the bullshit and find a way to drive around it which he doesn't
little trick if you didn't know, go waaaayyyy slower on the parade lap so the cars in front lose all tyre temp just sitting on the grid waiting for you, and so you rocket by at the first few turns.
To get under 8 seconds in a pit stop, you have to press L1, L2, R1 and R2 at the same time without pressing them too early, and press X and Triangle at the same time without pressing them too early. Also, the Grand Prix of Europe is Germany, not Spain, because it was in Germany in 2006.
I knew this would happen on this race. I remember this track when I used to play it and that chicane was always the worst with the curbs and the penalties. So I know the feels.
You should do a season in the World Championship mode instead, a lot more freedom since you can turn off corner cutting penalties, save between qualy and races etc.
From my experience with the game, you can take the kerbs mildly aggressive. If you keep your wheels on the kerb itself you should be fine, but when you go with 2 wheels off the track (so 2 wheels at the right of the kerb and 2 wheels at the left), that's when you will spin out
It's not about auto spin kerbs , is about you being too aggressive in the kerbs. If you ride it like you did at the 2nd laps it's alright. I play this game & have no problem like you 😅
if the setup allows you to change anti roll bar settings, try using more front and less rear anti roll bar. it will keep the car more stable on kerbs (if the game is realistic enough)
I find it's a little easier if you raise the ride height a little and maybe a little bit stiffer in the springs or the bump damping/ rebound. Maybe try the stiffer damping with increased ride height. A large part of curb issue is the car bottoming out as you basically lift the tires off the ground because the center board is in contact the the kerb IMO. If you put less than half of the car on the kerb there should be less of an affect. This game was my go to in high school and still kind of is on the off day.
The time it takes to do the pitstop has to do with the amount of fuel going in as well as your button smashing speed. So with an early pitstop you can never get very fast stops.
Hey Ben I've got a challenge for you. Do another last man standing at Monaco but, with noble, xmattyg and Aarava. You four have to work with each other until it is just the four of you
+Matthew Gannon well ok. Ben don't worry about the last part just screw each other over then. It will make it more fun then. Just imagine Xmattyg rage quitting. That will = more views and likes and subs
+ Tiametmarduk I don't know if a wheel was made for compatibility for this game, but maybe try a wheel for it, and it could improve you driving, but I don't know. Great series!
I think physics of this outside kerb is actually good, because in real life this is also autospin kerb like on Silverstone Stowe on outside with artificial grass
Just give up, the championship is boring now since you just can't understand that you shouldn't accelerate on exit kerbs and not pound on the kerbs. F1 cars aren't made to go over high kerbs so don't hit them.
I had such a love hate relationship with this game. So many aspects are so fun yet the penalties, oil slicks, kamikaze AI just pissed me off so much. I have never rage quit a game so many times quite like I did with this game.
I don't blame you for getting mad here, Imola's design between 95 and 2007 had some of the worst implementation of Chicanes I've ever seen. You either go 3 miles an hour or you skip the track.
Wouldn't changing the ride height fix these kerb issues a little? Everytime you spin in this video you put your wheels past the kerb. To me it looks like the car bottoms out on these kerbs.
Before penalties, you could just cut the final corner completely and go straight on. If I'm honest, it took me years to realise you weren't meant to do that...
To be fair, you can't defend this game all the time and just blame Ben. Getting a penalty for rejoining the track is the game's fault. Stop saying the game's perfect because it clearly isn't.
Absolutely, it's good considering it's 11 years old, but hardly the masterpiece that some people are saying. I noticed in an earlier race that Schumacher and Button hit Ben while divebombing and got no penalty, while Ben gets penalty after penalty for "cutting corners" even when he cut the corner to avoid a crash. So it has many flaws, not least its interpretation of the Istanbul track.
How is pushing the car to the limit equal to riding the kerbs, with just about all 4 tyres off the track? I don't necessarily think there really is "auto-spin" kerbs... The spin, or loss of car control, is more due to the fact of the speed and angle when you completely mount the kerb. Oh well... Keep doing the same mistakes continuously if you want lol.
