Those are static hub caps, the F1 cars in 2007 had those to improve aerodynamics however they made Pitstops slightly awkward.

Yeah that weirded me out at first when I watched the 2007 season back then, I heard there were issues in Brake dust build up around that static wheel hub. Watch the actual 2007 season and seasons after that, you can see most of the cars ran with these wheel hubs

It doesn't mean that the Renault wasn't the fastest car in 2006, but, yeah, the Ferrari was probably a bit faster in 2006, it's just that Alonso is a way better driver than Schumacher.

Actually the wheels are spinning - what you're noticing is the aerodynamic covers, or wheel/hub shrouds (which often incorporated cooling ducts) they used during that era. They were in a fixed position, with the rest of the wheel rotating around/behind. It made wheel changes a little awkward, and they often released a plume of brake dust buildup after removing them during a pit stop.

Austria does have some heavy braking zones, medium speed corners and it's ridiculously hard on tyres, in 100% races you have to make 3-4 stops because of really high tyre wear.

I think codemasters shoud've added fuel strategies for these kind of cars. You know. Before 2010 you had to qualify with the same fuel you started the race and before 2003 you had only 12 laps to set your best time ... Maybe next year

these don't look like fast lap time. I think the fastest I have done in this track is 1:11 or 1:12. maybe 1:10. however I have seen people doing 1:09, 08. but this was in f1 2011

The way you squeeze AI against the apex is far too aggressive. You ruin the possibility of close racing by forcing the ai to be extra careful.

ben you're not expected to win these races, if you look at the car selection screen it says a gold medal in the mclaren was to finished 12th or better. so basically you "won" this race
