Gilles Villeneuve had his fatal crash in 1982. The chicane at Turn 7 (0:43) is named after him and his name was written down on the track at the pit entry
I like this circuit but I don't know if it is suitable for modern Formula 1. It seems to me that it would be more a car parade than a race. But maybe for F2, and certainly for F3 and Touring cars. Great lap!
The elevation change doesn't seem to be quite right. It's actually quite a bit more pronounced in real life. Project Cars 1 and 2's version is still probably the most accurate I've seen.
Not for modern F1 cars I guess? Start-finish straight should be ok for DRS as there's a heavy braking zone right before it. But yes, other than that not many
F1 should come back to this circuit after the 24 Hours of Spa crash, the big W-Series pileup and Norris’ near-fatal crash all in this year. Not to mention Kevin Magnussen in 2016 and Anthoine Hubert’s actually fatal crash in 2019.
@@TenorCantusFirmus There actually heavily extending the Radillon runoff to stop cars from being launched back onto the track, which was the problem not the corner layout.
