F1 + Apple Vision Pro = Killer App (?) 

For me, it would be worth buying this device to be able to follow F1 in this way. It would definitely be an incredible experience.

This would be amazing for any race series! Imagine being able to follow specific cars and even get POV views from inside the car!

Love this! Take it one step further... for each race you're not sitting in your own room watching this, you're transported to the best apartment/corporate box at the track, where you can walk to the window and look out over the pit lane, and hear the cars as they drive past the window... but you experience the race on the screen in this world. Shut up and take my money!!

This is an excellent idea mate. I am a huge fan of F1 - have been one for over 30 years. This would make me want to pony up the money for the Apple Vision Pro. Hope you are able to pursuade the right folks to make this a reality!

The amount of time you put into making this video and the graphics really pitches the idea well. Would love to see this for more action sports. Or the Olympics. Downhill skiing and other sports that have topography of the course would be cool.

Love it. This should work on any mixed reality device such as the Quest 3. Still not sure how I feel about having WiFi EMF strapped to my head for extended periods though...

I think integrating replays into this would be brilliant. For example, being able to jump into a car on track you select to get an on board view of a battle would be epic.

being able to see on boards from the vision pro, seeing the track on the table, or even seeing in from the stands similar to the nba courtside would be insane. would easily convince me to buy one once they get cheaper

This could work with any Mixed Reality headset OR have a VR app that has a TV as well as the track below it with perhaps driver stats off to the side

As a F1 fan for several decades now, and having been to 3 three races in the last couple of years, I think this would turn watching a race into pretty much submerging yourself in the experience itself. Can't wait for this bit of the future to become reality.

Hey, I'm your thousandth subscriber! Had to do it because you know the truth about 2021 But I truly hope this idea gets developed. F1 is so uniquely poised to push innovation in this field forwards, and in turn this would help both F1 and Apple seem more desirable. Seems like a no brainer

This is true for every sport and is one of the most exciting things about Mixed reality IMO.

I am also an avid golfer, and I think the idea might also work well for golf. It would capture the undulations, layout and other nuances of a golf course that standard television just doesn't capture today.

I can see this technology incorporating all aspects of entertainment media, sports, back packing, exploration, hunting, trekking, maps of the earth, road tripping, traveling, breaking news, inclement weather, tornados, hurricanes, storms, wild fires, watching police pursuits, watching plane flights, watching scuba dives, truck driving, etc. Like a mini sim of virtual reality.

Honestly, I simrace in VR and it’s a game changer. If I could experience an F1 race on the AVP, I’d throw so much money at whatever app that does that!

Being able to see a life size version of the car your interested in preorder would be awesome. Open the doors, interact will the augmented buttons in the car/truck. Or what about being a character in a movie, sitting in a plane being able to remove the shell of the plane to look like your floating through the sky, watching football on your coffee table, being able to interact with virtual animals and pet them and they respond. I could think of thousands of ways

Man this would be amazing for ANY SPORT. Especially E Sports. Imagine watching Football and being able to say have the top down view beside the TV or what not. Or watching an FPS tournament and being able to have the Map on your floor then different Players POV"s where you want them....

Love it! I wear hard contacts, so I can't fully. use vision pro, but this is the push we need F1 to make. I can already see interest in the US slowing as we return to a single team dominated era. F1 thrives on competition, otherwise races are a social event for the rich and famous.

This is obviously super cool and it would be great for all track racing especially MotoGP and WSBK. Here’s a whole new other idea: this tech would transform one of the most extreme but least known & least understood events in the world: the Dakar Rally. This tech would compile in real time but the viewers could watch when and how they wanted, every day, day after day, during and after the event, adding a huge new dimension to the way the application is used currently. The unique problem with the Dakar is its complexity and its remoteness: multiple vehicle classes - motorbikes, quads, desert racers, rally cars, trucks etc - all racing day after day, across the harshest terrain, in conditions that frequently force the organisers into last minute changes on a daily basis, but with only a loosely set course (it’s a ‘navigation event’ not merely a race), different start times & often different waypoints with competitors finishing stages hours apart. Up to know it’s been impossible to cover, despite the huge media army, legions of helicopters & ground vehicles, thousands of support staff & the massive travelling tented city (knows as the bivouac). This tech could transform that. Also it has moved to the Gulf so it has oil state sponsorship. Plenty of money there.

Playing some Assetto Corsa recently, and drove a couple F1 cars, and it feels unreal, like the car should not be able to do it, and comparing (watching them side by side) it to real F1, sim racing has hit an all time high and realism, and that’s not accounting for the motion systems available for less than 15k, less than 3k if you can fabricate and know how to follow directions, and slight amount of “coding” more like editing code to specifics. F1 drivers and cars are just amazing.

Now were cooking. This is what were talking about. Then adding 3D to onboard camera to be full immersed.

I think this is something wee need for vr/ar, f1 can be the entry point because of the abundance of data, but this kind of topdown 3d view where I can look at the things I'm interested in and not what the camera guy is showing me

I think I would actually get into F1 if I had an app like this! Just having the God's eye view would really help my engagement and make me more invested in the sport.

You should be able to click on any driver on the leaderboard and then u get their on board view like a POV as if ur the one driving the car

i think the issue is not that this is technologically difficult, but the broadcasting contracts in place around the world.

I didn't need these glasses until I watched this video...

F1 and Apple certainly have their parallels; shiny & expensive does not equate to exciting & engaging. I love this idea, no doubt. But it all feels a bit surreal to even need to crowdsource these kinds of killer app ideas for high-priced tech toy produced by a company valued at over 3 trillion dollars.

This truly is a fab idea, and would be a great way to spectate.

It would be crazy to have 180 stereo cameras on the cars and be able to touch a car in the table and getting into the pilot's stereo vision. Of course you have to have your VR Legs strong to not get nauseous with the movement probably.

I want this! My first reaction to Apple Vision Pro was that it looked interesting but didn't have enough to make me want to buy it. If this was available, I would buy it today.

I've been to one NASCAR race and I was not impressed. I'm not a big racing fan but this is an amazing idea. It's sure to be a reality... we just don't know when. This would absolutely get someone like me much more interested in F1! Maybe with the Vision Pro 3 or something lol

I’ve been snickering at the the hype and the device itself. $3500 for 3D goggles. I would immediately buy a pair if this was offered to me. I am a long time fan (since Jim Clark days) of F1. I subscribe to multiple social media feeds, and F1TV. But this I would pay for … immediately and without question … unreal. Yes. I hope to see this. I’ll be a subscriber.
