You cannot tell me this sound doesn’t give you eargasm. Will never get how some of the fans think this is noise and such. Granted the current V6 hybrid turbos cars maybe faster and technologically more advanced but the sight and sound of a naturally aspirated V10 F1 cars just gives you goosebumps
@@dixiefire1337 yeah cuz the f2004 could run on special practice/quali tires, designed specifically for that car AND go on optimized fuel load for flying laps. New cars have all these restrictions like weight and fuel requirements, as well as only 3 kinds of tires, so im not surprised a lighter f2004 could go toe to toe at monza with a new car.
More people notice the noise than 1 second lap quicker times , so to engage fans in terest you give them V10 noise as otherwise it's taking away from them what they can see , maybe that's why DRS was used too to replace it lol
Ivan Rubio Abarez I think the early v8’s till 2008 were very nice, from 2009 tho they lost some of their magic cause of the shape of the cars. That said the 2006 v8’s were mind boggling, those things were revving to 20000 rpms, incredible
Too expensive tho like 1 million pound an engine blowout every race and 50 million a season to race a team . Paid by sponsor s but take there big investment away and the lesser teams can't compete sadly it ends . Likes 1990s super tourer btcc using £250k on a weekend worth of tyres !
@@timhuggins1993 It may be expensive. But back then tobacco companies can cover all that amount of costs. F1 was financially healthy those days, and then when the ban on tobacco came. No other sponsor can cover what the tobacco era did.
@@jannadrielcervo7753 I've never really thought about that before. The money they used to shell out was insane but I didn't realize the impact it had when the ban came. I'm still learning about F1 and the history
@@jannadrielcervo7753 Tobacco sponsorships weren’t banned they just couldn’t be so glaringly obvious on the cars. The sponsorships were running up to 2019 for Ferrari and Mclaren. The issue wasn’t who was going to fit the bill, it truly was the spending. I read an article that for every 20 cylinder head castings, BMW would make, only 2 of them were viable due to the high strung standards of those engines and a design that wasn’t big on durability (aka a lot of casting thin sections.
I watched them at Imola. During warm up I thought at some point it was thundering, then i realized it was the sound of downshifting of the cars coming from my back. I was at rivazza curve. After braking they started erogating all the power. I couldnt believe they could produce such an astounding sound, even if I was expecting a sort of. I will Never forget that day.
Today on track, you heard the sound of F1 car‘s. Back in the V10 era, you could feel the sound. And thats not just something i say. When the whole field flys by at you in Lap you, everything was shaking…
Thanks for the memories. I was lucky enough to have tested and demo'd the 2008 renault F1 r28 for the team during 2009 and had 2 glorious sunny days at the old Silverstone before they ruined the place.
No turbo dude, the whole point of these engines sounding this good and being this loud it's because they are naturally aspirated, so they rev high as hell and there's nothing in the exhaust that muffles the sound
Its a shame that people seem to think F1 needs to evolve with the motor industry, like why should it. If F1 can evolve the logistics to lower the carbon footprint of transport between races then why shouldn't we be able to reintroduce v10's or v8's. The way people inside the sport keep going on about F1 leading the way for the automotive industry makes me think we might see F1 become an electric formula
Do you mean that Formula 1 will be incorporated into Formula-E? If that happens, I am proud to have been able to experience Formula 1 in the years of V12 and V10 engines
@@timhuggins1993 i can understand you. I experienced only the V8s in reality and I wish i could have experienced the V12s and the V10s. Btw, Redbull's V8 blown diffuser was kinda magic
@@dubya85 its not exactly good for the environment but yes it is hypocritical to use fighter jets before the race yet add all these dumb restrictions to racecars when roadgoing cars are responsible for much more
@@blur3253 Yep, like blaming emissions on the everyday driver but ignoring commercial airline emissions, or tasking people in their homes to unplug stuff to save power when banks and retail stores are allowed to keep an amount of lights on 24/7 for “security” 😅
Proper engines, I don't care if they are faster now, when you are there, you can't notice a few seconds a lap speed difference, but you sure as hell notice that sound!
I remember I was 15yo when saw an F1 practice session in live and got goosebumps immediately when a Minardi left the pit lane however it was about 5km from our stand.......... amazing sounds really :)
I used to be an instructor at Silverstone on rally driving so had the pleasure of seeing and hearing F1 cars regularly I used to spend my whole lunch hour watching the cars at every corner , fantastic memories I’ll never forget 🏁
Thanks, Damian! Superb sounds, and some great camera positions, too. You can really feel the downforce bite when the drivers don't lift going into the very fast right-left section (first seen at 00:19). This video made me feel happy, but then sad, when I realised how much we and F1 have lost.
Isso verdadeiramente era o som de um Fórmula 1, mesmo não vendo o carro, com esse som mesmo sendo de bem longe, se sabia que havia um Fórmula 1 em algum lugar!
I envy all the people that witnessed this in person, even trough a phone screen on youtube its absolutely terryfying… too bad i was 4 years old when 2006 came… only remember about 2010-2013 vettel redbull v8 days Fia boomers that stopped these engines for political reasons is a huge crime to the f1 fans
The real sound of Formula 1 racing, remember going to the 1st race of the season down under 05.. with 2 friends,it was their 1st time attending a race, I'll never forget the look on both their faces when the cars screamed round the track..the kind of noise and buzz you never get from television. Think I can speak for most F1 fans on this, not much will ever compare/sound like a N/A V10 Formula 1 engine at full pelt..screaming up through the gears. Absolute petrol heads orgasm
My first GP was Indy 2004. After a 14 hour drive to get to the track and no sleep, trust Me, I was smiling like I hit powerball when I heard those mighty engines!!! Man, what a treat to the ears! I never used earplugs the entire weekend and was sitting under the canopy on the front straight :).
I started watching F1 since 2005, I was born during the V10 era of road cars and Formula One. Still bring back memories. Old F1 car's don't even age even if we look at it today.
oh my god, wtf, i started crying now because I got emotional listening to this sounds that gave me goosebumps and i didn't get a chance to hear it in person i missed that time cause i was 4 in 2005
