This is one of those things that's even not that long ago, that is really unsafe when you look at the people standing there with nice shins behind barriers that hold nothing. Or when after a straight, the brake would fail and then with like 60km/h driving a barrier into someone being stuck in between a camera setup and that cart. I mean, not that I see danger in everything but we had some incident with a big wheel truck here in the NEtherlands, where they would give a show, but the barriers were just those iron fences you can lift up yourself with enough strenght, but people standing behind those before the drama unfolded felt safe, but the organizer was of course s c r ewed. And that happened in a country with a rule for everything it seems. Maybe that's why sometimes simple things first have to go very wrong before things change. Like rally fans in the outer corners or after a jump where half of the drivers lands at some weird angle, possibly losing control mid air or right after. It does give for the best views of course!
